Monsters & Animals

A page dedicated to new types of monsters and animals. The races included here are designed to offer new races for players to use, or for new possible threats for a Game Master to throw at his/her players. Like all Palladium information, especially fan created material, this information is designed to be optional. The information can be taken or left as the reader sees fit for their games.

Mortal Races

Dark Elves (optional player race): An elf variant. This is not based on the Dungeons & Dragons dark elves, but taken from my own thoughts. Aesthetic Note: I found the song Pushing Me Away by Linkin Park good inspiration while writing up this race. This is a personal opinion.

Leaper (optional player race): A race that lives in the Baalgor Wastelands. They move only by hopping around.

Lyncat (optional player race): A race that retreated under the surface during the Elf-Dwarf War. They are believed to be cousins to the emirin, but more humanoid in form. Note: This race was created for a player character.

Creatures of Magic

Gnoll: A predator with a connection to the Earth element. This is not the Dungeons & Dragons gnoll, but a different beast entirely. The name should not be Trademarked as Gnolls have appeared in various works by a variety of companies.

Trow (Faerie Folk): A new type of faerie folk. This is based on concepts from actual folk lore. Full stats including conversions for Rifts.

Winged Hydra (Dragon): A chimera creation (Mosaic Magic) related to the Magi on Mount Phi.

Wyvern: A native predator to the island kingdom of Phi. Note: First mentioned in Palladium Fantasy Book 11: Eastern Territory (by Steve Edwards), but no stats provided.

Living Rune Weapons (optional player race): A new type of creature of magic. Players actually have the chance to play as a rune weapon! Sound odd? This is one case where you'll just have to read the article to find out. See Rifter 52 for more details. Get the issue here (or if you prefer PDF).

  • Invoked R.C.C.: A class specific to the Living Rune Weapons. See Rifter 52 for more details.

  • Elementalist R.C.C.: A class specific to the Living Rune Weapons. See Rifter 52 for more details.

  • Cleric R.C.C.: A class specific to the Living Rune Weapons. See Rifter 52 for more details.

  • Psion R.C.C.: A class specific to the Living Rune Weapons. See Rifter 52 for more details.

  • Warper R.C.C.: A class specific to the Living Rune Weapons. See Rifter 52 for more details.

  • Lightbringer R.C.C.: A class specific to the Living Rune Weapons. See Rifter 52 for more details.

  • Soul Drinker R.C.C.: A class specific to the Living Rune Weapons. See Rifter 52 for more details.

Supernatural Beings

Jig-Saw Demon (Demon): A new type of demon and "totally disgusting" (in a way that monster fans will love). This is part of a larger project, but since that hit some delays I decided to put it on my site as a separate entity for you to enjoy.

Animals

Blue Ox: A large sized ox that is blue in color.

Esuvrym: Large animals used as potential mounts for Wolfen.

Harkun: A small insect from another dimension often summoned as a source of light.

Necro-Scythe: Cave dwelling insects akin to a large Praying Mantis and a natural Necromancer type ability. can be a great individual enemy, or used as in conjunction with the introduction of Screechers (see below).

Pony Wolf: Popular on Lopan, this is a chimera creation (Mosaic Magic) combining the traits of a pony and wolf together for a new type of exotic mount. Note: Though created using magic, the Pony Wolf is not a Creature of Magic and still must eat and drink to survive like any other animal.

Screecher: Flying creatures which let out a horrible screech to help find their way through the darkness. A great addition to caves, though written with a direct connection to the Labyrinth.

Sin Spider: Arachnids cursed with madness by the god Yin-Sloth, a horrifying venom, and capable of being used as a mount by small Gnome-sized riders.

Spirit Animals: Ghosts of animals used as mounts or familiars. Includes stats for the Spirit Boar, Spirit Horse, and Spirit Wolf.

Twin Tail: A two tailed fox which is also referred to as a Fire Fox at times. Though it has special talents, it is still just a rare type of fox.

Old Material

These are a few random races I created. There is no real connection between most of them, but I was inspired to write each one of them for one reason or another. Though some of these may be similar to something in one of the books, they were original ideas at the time (I just didn't have a web page back then). Most of these are rather old by this point, but I'm including them here for archive purposes.

Agulen (optional R.C.C.): A race from the Yin-Sloth Jungles. They do not use the standard experience point tables from Palladium. Instead, they increase through an experimental method that I wanted to try out. This should only be used if a Game Master allows it.

Akumin (NPC Menace): Another race from the Yin-Sloth Jungles, related to the Agulen in origins. They are meant as a supernatural predator and not recommended as a Player Character.

Cooragi (optional R.C.C.): A race believed to be extinct since the war with the Old Ones. Complete pacifists.

Fire Hounds of Anubis (NPC Menace): A supernatural demon predator. Despite its name, there is no actual link to the God of Darkness, Anubis. See the description for an explanation of the name.

Mimic (NPC Menace): A wandering race that lives only through mimicking others. Not meant as a Player Character.

Shadow-Walker (NPC Menace): A race that is typically a servant of various demons. They are mainly used for things such as spying. Not meant as a Player Character.

Spider Turtle (NPC Menace): A type of demon that is more like a spider than a demon, but still originates from the same realm.

Soul Reaver a.k.a. Soul Harvester (NPC Menace): A class of demon that has the ability to steal souls. It is from these demons that the classic vision of Death originated.
