Demon Hunters (Season 2): Game 12

DreaMwrite1: Still no Tie
Jun Nekkara: He's signed on. So he just isn't responding then?
DreaMwrite1: yep
Tie Di Chiang has entered the room.
DreaMwrite1: right on time
Tie Di Chiang: :-)
Jun Nekkara: Maybe he was just waiting for me since I'm so special :-D
Tie Di Chiang: (afk for now, making dinner)
DreaMwrite1: As we last left our heroes they were in the shao-lin temple that Tie Di Chiang had been raised in, seemingly in the past...
DreaMwrite1: They had all decided upon finding Tie's master who they had been attacked by a while back and had recently saw in Jun's own past.
Jun Nekkara: ((Seemingly? You mean meeting Tie as a child wasn't proof enough?))
DreaMwrite1: After finding that his teacher from days long gone was in another room meditating he got up and walked off without a word...
DreaMwrite1: ((Hey I just dont want to give a straight answer ;-) ))
DreaMwrite1: Jun and Ninazu are at the dinner table talking when Tie gets up and walks off.
DreaMwrite1: ((We can pause here until Tie gets back))
Tie Di Chiang: (okay, I'm back but I must pause to type between bites, so go ahead :-) )
Jun Nekkara: *looks at Tie* "Try to remember what I said. Before careful on how you procede. Our enemies will most likely show soon. It would be unwise for you to be caught alone. Try not to wander too far off"
Tie Di Chiang: (hmm, I don't remember why I got up...)
Tie Di Chiang: (oh, right, the headmaster...)
DreaMwrite1: ((lol))
Jun Nekkara: ((Hmm...next time I type in advance like that, perhaps I should check it for typos))
DreaMwrite1: ((ok unpause))
DreaMwrite1: ((The game has started...))
Tie Di Chiang: (I'll attempt to gain an audience with the master)
Tie Di Chiang: (by asking one of the other monks)
DreaMwrite1: ((How would you go about doing that?
DreaMwrite1: Tie you get up and walk up to one of the monks who greeted you into the temple.
Tie Di Chiang: (well, I'd ask one of them if the master is avaiulable right now, and if not that he could be notified that some people wish to speak with him)
DreaMwrite1: ((heh why arent you saying all this in character?))
Jun Nekkara: *stands from the table and looks to Ninazu* "While he attends to the matters of his past, I will try to find someone who may be able to answer my questions. I will most likely need to find someone other than his master"
Jun Nekkara: "They seem unwilling to let outsiders see him"
DreaMwrite1: "Uh ok." says Ninazu as he eats another serving of soup. "You do that I'll wait here."
DreaMwrite1: ((Dont ya love how vague I am with the food you guys eat?))
Jun Nekkara: *still to Ninazu* "Try to stay alert. If one of us gets into trouble, we may need your help" *leaves the table and approaches one of the monks*
DreaMwrite1: "Yes?" says the monk you walk up to. "Do you need some help young preist?"
Tie Di Chiang: (yes... enjoy the spicy juntlepon mwahahahahahaha!)
DreaMwrite1: "You sure do seem far away from your homeland."
DreaMwrite1: "Why do you want to talk with the master, brother?" says the monk to Tie.
Jun Nekkara: "Yes, quite far indeed. However, I too am on a journey of knowledge. Since it seems that it is unwanted for me to speak with the young lad's master (referring to the young Tie), I was wondering...
Jun Nekkara: if perhaps there was someone less busy that I may speak with"
DreaMwrite1: "Speak with about what?"
Tie Di Chiang: "I have been away from the temple for a very long time, and merely wished to see my old teacher... If he is not available now I shall wait until a better time"
Jun Nekkara: "Yes, it is hard for me to put into words at the moment. Though I seek more knowledge of what you do here. I am not fully fluent with your ways and I wish to understand more"
DreaMwrite1: "Your old teacher?" says the monk to Tie skepticly. "He has only taught three students in his life time and his recent pupil is Tie Di Chiang.
DreaMwrite1: "I do not reconize you as either of his old students."
DreaMwrite1: "We of the Shao-lin temple are peaceful monks who seek enlightenment from within." says the monk to Jun. "And we are also known for our powerful martial art techniques we learn on this journey which we use...
DreaMwrite1: "To help those in need."
Tie Di Chiang: "Oh? Dear me... Old Po is still the master here is he not? Or has he passed on to the next life..."
Jun Nekkara: ((Not going to say anything about the Kung Fu reference))
Tie Di Chiang: (mmm, that's some good b.s. :-D )
DreaMwrite1: ((Ok thanks Jun ;-) ))
Tie Di Chiang: (well 'tis just a bluf :-P )
DreaMwrite1: ((Yep I'm great with b.s.))
DreaMwrite1: "What are you talking about, brother?" says the monk a little confused. "You don't appear to be either of his other pupils and young Tie is right over there, doubt you could try and pass off as him."
DreaMwrite1: ((Also Jun it does appear to be in my world the Shao-lin monks are also super powered defenders of the helpless.))
DreaMwrite1: ((1 of them at least))
Jun Nekkara: *sighs* "You shall indeed make this most difficult. I have questions in regards to the matters you have just mentioned. However, I seek someone with a more worldly understanding"
Jun Nekkara: "Preferrably someone who has travelled outside these temple walls"
Tie Di Chiang: "dear me... my memory must have become addled from my journey... I should have finished my meal..."
DreaMwrite1: "I'm sorry to say, but we have no one here at the moment who has this 'worldly' knowledge as you so call it." says the monk to Jun. "We try to keep to ourselves whenever possable."
DreaMwrite1: The monk gives Tie another skeptical look. "Ok..."
Tie Di Chiang: (that crafty devil changed his name I bet...)
DreaMwrite1: ((lol...))
Jun Nekkara: "So everyone here has been born and died here? I was led to believe that the climb up the mountain to arrive here was to help with enlightenment. I find it odd none of you have ever climbed up or down it"
DreaMwrite1: "You are searching for some information, why are you holding it back?" says the monk to Jun.
Tie Di Chiang: (well no one's born here of course, ther are no women admitted :-P )
DreaMwrite1: "Oh we do climb up the mountain that doesn't exactly mean that we just casually leave whenever."
Tie Di Chiang: (doesn't make them all that well travelled of course either)
DreaMwrite1: ((except for Tie but he seems to be a special case.))
Tie Di Chiang: (and the ones that were possessed)
DreaMwrite1: ((Yes and the posessed ones))
Jun Nekkara: "I will not hold back what I wish to know...if you know that someone will have the answers I seek"
DreaMwrite1: "What is your question so that I may give someone who may answer?"
Jun Nekkara: *lowers head and pauses, trying to figure out just the right way to word this next part*
DreaMwrite1: "Perhaps I was wrong...maybe you are one of his students..." says the monk to Tie. "It has been so long since I have seen them I have forgotten what you and your fellow student have looked like..."
DreaMwrite1: ((You want to find a way to stop an evil demon from taking over the world?))
Jun Nekkara: "You have mentioned that you use your abilities to protect people in need. I too try to do what I can. However, there are times that I find I cannot do it with my current knowledge"
DreaMwrite1: "I shall tell the master that you have company."
Jun Nekkara: "I am hoping that perhaps someone could help shar some with me"
DreaMwrite1: "That he has company."
Tie Di Chiang: brb
DreaMwrite1: The monk looks perplexed. "Share some of what?"
DreaMwrite1: ((nm that
Jun Nekkara: ((Really dislikes the character limit in these chats))
DreaMwrite1: "I am sorry, but you must be a shao-lin monk to know our techniques. It is an important law which we follow not to give them to outsiders."
DreaMwrite1: "Sadly you are too old to become one. You would have made a good monk, I can feel it."
DreaMwrite1: ((Ya I hate it too.))
DreaMwrite1: ((Starting to think that we should use IRC chat instead.))
Jun Nekkara: "I did not say I wish to know a technique per say. Just some information. What I wish to know..." *takes a deep breath and looks the monk in the eyes* "...involves a demon"
Jun Nekkara: ((IRC chat? Not exactly sure what that is. Forgive my ignoracnce))
DreaMwrite1: "A demon? Our libraries have much on demons if that is what you are in search for."
DreaMwrite1: ((I'll explain after game but it is a possable alternative))
Jun Nekkara: "That may indeed help. If you would be so kind as to show me where it is located" *pauses for a second* "And one more question. Do you know of any monks with a technique to bind a demon's powers?"
DreaMwrite1: "Binding a demons powers? I am sorry but techniques such as that are even beyond the Shao-lin."
Jun Nekkara: *sighs* "I was afraid of that. I know of a half-demon that may have been appreciative of such a technique"
DreaMwrite1: The monk is silent for a moment. "Hmm come to think of it the great teacher of this temple may have such an ability. Though I'm sorry to say he does not speak with many."
Jun Nekkara: *bows* "Then, if you would be so kind, I beg that you ask him. I am in great need of an audience with him if he does indeed have such knowledge"
Tie Di Chiang: (okay, back at last)
DreaMwrite1: ((Glad to hear it Tie.))
Tie Di Chiang: (whew, that Thai food does a number on you...)
DreaMwrite1: "I am sorry, but only a chosen few are allowed to even speak to him."
Tie Di Chiang: (on the plus side I can weld metals with my ass now)
DreaMwrite1: "Come this way if you wish to speak with the master now." says the monk to Tie.
DreaMwrite1: ((Heh too much information there. =-O ))
Tie Di Chiang: "thank you brother"
Tie Di Chiang: *follows*
Jun Nekkara: "I understand. Then I suppose the library will have to suffice for now. If you would be so kind to guide me. Simple directions will do if you are busy"
DreaMwrite1: The monk leads Tie down many halls toward his old teacher's meditation chamber.
Tie Di Chiang: (to the room of a the guy I don't remember but has wreaked havoc in the lives of my friends as well...)
DreaMwrite1: "It will be no trouble just follow me." says the monk to Jun leading him as well down many cooradoors.
Jun Nekkara: *follows*
Tie Di Chiang: (corridors)
DreaMwrite1: ((thanks Tie I knew that was wrong))
Tie Di Chiang: (sheesh how can you screw corridors up...)
DreaMwrite1: ((ouch that hurts :'())
Tie Di Chiang: :-D
Tie Di Chiang: (perhaps you were thinking of Coors and doors at the same time...)
DreaMwrite1: Tie as you walk down the halls a young man (about 16) runs quickly past you.
DreaMwrite1: "We are almost there." says the preist as you continue down the corridors.
DreaMwrite1: Jun you get to the library in a few minutes of walking.
DreaMwrite1: Book covered the walls on all sides.
DreaMwrite1: A rather large room with some tables. Some older men are sitting down reading, not even noticing your arrival.
DreaMwrite1: "I shall leave you to read, just be kind to the books please some are very old." says the monk to Jun.
Jun Nekkara: *looks around the library* "Thank you for your guidance. Though I was wondering if you could help me find information on a particular problem. The demon I fought is quite cunning and very powerful..."
DreaMwrite1: "What is his name?" says the monk.
Jun Nekkara: "Though he was once defeated, he returned from death. I am familiar with the idea, but was wondering if there was a way to prevent it?"
DreaMwrite1: "We are here." says the monk to Tie as you both walk up to a closed wooden door.
DreaMwrite1: "Hmm he must be of the highest of demons to be able to come back from death such as that."
DreaMwrite1: "Your only hope would be to find a way to seal him or trap him in some way. The most powerful of demons cannot die by my knowledge at least."
DreaMwrite1: The monk swings open the door showing an old monk sitting on the ground on top of a pillow, facing the window. His back is turned to you and the monk.
Jun Nekkara: *closes eyes* "Sealing him" *a slight smirk comes across his face, but quickly vanishes* "I am confident there is a way to kill him. Though I lack that current knowledge"
DreaMwrite1: Tie you stand there and look at him. You are positive he is your master from long ago and the same man you had battled with recently.
Jun Nekkara: "Finding a way to trap him will have to do. I would be appreciative of any help you could provide"
DreaMwrite1: "Beyond this you would know as much as I do. I spend very little time in the libary studying about demons to be of much use."
Jun Nekkara: ((*is having flashes of Dragon Ball and the Evil Containment Wave*))
DreaMwrite1: ((Heh ;-)))
Jun Nekkara: "Then I thank you. I will get to work if I am to find the information I seek in time"
DreaMwrite1: "Ok I will leave you to your studies then."
DreaMwrite1: The monk walks out of the libaray.
Jun Nekkara: *starts to look at the books and comes to a sad realization. Despite the fact the knowledge may be in front of him...he can't read chinese*
Jun Nekkara: ((:-[))
DreaMwrite1: ((Yep too bad Tie isnt there))
Tie Di Chiang: (maybe you'll be lucky and some of it will be in Hiragana :-D )
DreaMwrite1: Tie you continue to stand there staring at your master.
Jun Nekkara: *looking at books he says softly to himself* "This may be more difficult than I had originally thought. I may need help" *looks around at the elderly men that were there when I arrived*
Jun Nekkara: ((Unless by some chance I actually come across a book that is in a readable language to me -- but that is doubtful))
DreaMwrite1: The elderly men there appear to be deep in study as they jot down information onto their parchments as they continue reading the books.
DreaMwrite1: They are all at seperate tables.
Tie Di Chiang: "pardon me master, but I have need of knowledge that I trust you might impart"
DreaMwrite1: The old man gets up very slowly and turns around.
DreaMwrite1: He raises an eyebrow when he notices Tie. "Leave my son, thank you for bringing him."
Jun Nekkara: *looks at them and debates whether it would be right to interfer with any of their studies for his own needs. As he thoughts flow, he decides that defeating Akuma is more important than disturbing a few men*
DreaMwrite1: The monk bows and leave the room.
Tie Di Chiang: (they'll still probably be here doing this 20 years from now :-P )
Jun Nekkara: *walks over to one of the men and kneels before him. In a soft and gentle tone* "I am not from this area and humbly request some help. I am in desperate need of some knowledge to help protect others"
DreaMwrite1: "Hello, Tie Di Chaing." says the monk simply to Tie.
Tie Di Chiang: "You recognize me? I find that interesting, as until very recently I did not recognize you"
DreaMwrite1: "What is it boy? I am very busy." says the old man still reading the book as he talks to you.
Tie Di Chiang: "it is an interesting puzzle, this life we lead... men, women, children, eking out an existence, trying to survive and enjoy life..."
Tie Di Chiang: "and demons who prey on them"
Tie Di Chiang: "it makes one wonder why anyone should ever bother to live at all"
Jun Nekkara: *in the same tone* "I am in pursuit of a powerful demon who does not seem to die. He is defeated, but always returns. I was informed that there may be knowledge on how to trap him contained within these walls"
DreaMwrite1: "If you come from the future then I assume you have come to stop me. Sadly my preparations are already completed." says Tie's master simply. "I will take my leave."
Jun Nekkara: "But alas, I am not from these land and cannot read your language"
Tie Di Chiang: "but stranger still to me, is why those of us who trained and vowed to protect humanity from evil would suddenly decide to aid the demons in their wicked cause"
DreaMwrite1: "People live to be controled by powers such as ourselves, this is the one law that has always been true Tie."
Aira Ono has left the room.
Tie Di Chiang: "Is it? Such is the law of brutes and apes, not of men, and certainly not of monks"
DreaMwrite1: "I am not suprised someone such as yourself does not understand it now even as an adult though." says the monk calmly to Tie. "You are strong I'll give you that, but so weak in the mind."
Tie Di Chiang: ("nuh-uh, I have a Mind stat of 6 I do I do" :-D )
DreaMwrite1: "You have it all wrong, Tie. They are the brutes and apes, I am mearly here to heard them like sheep."
Jun Nekkara: ((Same as mine Tie))
DreaMwrite1: ((lol ya but your a good guy so that makes you dumb so there :-P))
Jun Nekkara: (("So you see, evil will always win because good is stupid" -or something very close to that))
DreaMwrite1: "With the help of these demons I shall gain even more power than before, no one shall stand in my way."
Tie Di Chiang: "I see"
DreaMwrite1: ((yep))
Tie Di Chiang: "what did you do to the wolf-child?"
DreaMwrite1: "He is a potential barrier to my goal to power so I shall seal his abilities, pacify him into a gentle lamb."
Tie Di Chiang: "and why did you attack him, he was no threat to anyone"
Tie Di Chiang: "Ha! I daresay you made him a threat that day, one who shall bring your master to his knees one day"
DreaMwrite1: "Somehow I doubt that young monk."
Tie Di Chiang: "I have seen that day come to pass"
DreaMwrite1: "It sounds like that errand boy finally told someone. I must be off Tie."
DreaMwrite1: Tie you hear footsteps in the distance.
DreaMwrite1: "Step asside, Tie."
Tie Di Chiang: "I must know one more thing..."
DreaMwrite1: "So many questions from such a simple person."
Tie Di Chiang: "Do you really believe Akuma will provide you with the power you desire?"
DreaMwrite1: The monk grins.
DreaMwrite1: "Not Akuma."
DreaMwrite1: Two monks bust the door down which slams to the ground.
DreaMwrite1: You hear a voice say from behind them. "I am sorry master, but we must take you to a more secure area, please come easy we do not wish to harm you."
Tie Di Chiang: "so much noise my brothers, have you forgotten your training in the arts of silence?"
DreaMwrite1: "There is no time brother, quickly disable him!"
DreaMwrite1: "Sigh it is time I must leave." says Tie's master simply.
DreaMwrite1: The two monks jump at him but he disapears...
DreaMwrite1: Reapearing behind them and then pushes the monk at the doorway aside and runs down the halls.
Tie Di Chiang: "a moment too late..."
Tie Di Chiang: "move aside!" *attempts to pursu down the hall*
DreaMwrite1: Tie you chase after your former master, but find it is too difficult to keep up with his speed.
DreaMwrite1: He quickly outdistances you and jumps out a window.
Tie Di Chiang: *leaps to the window to see where he went*
DreaMwrite1: Tie you look out the window to see it is a fall straight down a steep side of the mountain.
DreaMwrite1: You hear one of the monks from behind you say. "He has escaped..."
DreaMwrite1: "Let me explain the situation."
Tie Di Chiang: *steps back and turns to the other monks* "what caused you to come to his room?"
DreaMwrite1: ((brb))
Tie Di Chiang: (I guess Aira got bored...)
Jun Nekkara: ((I think Aira just left because she wasn't going to be doing much this game))
Tie Di Chiang: (yeah, bored :-P )
Jun Nekkara: ((oops....thought you said booted *bonks self on the head*))
Tie Di Chiang: ( :-D )
Tie Di Chiang: ("curse you Tong She I'll get you yet!")
Jun Nekkara: ((Um...I don't know that one))
Tie Di Chiang: (The old monk's name)
Tie Di Chiang: (the one what just got away)
Jun Nekkara: ((You mean it wasn't Master Po?))
Jun Nekkara: ((I wasn't serious with that last one. I've been forgetting how my sarcastic ways don't carry over nearly as well online))
Tie Di Chiang: (No, that was just me trying to b.s. the other monk into thinking I was a student of another master who was dead to cover for my not being recognizable)
Tie Di Chiang: (didn't work...)
Tie Di Chiang: (that's what emoticons are for ;-) )
Jun Nekkara: ((Ya, I know. I've just been forgetting as of late))
DreaMwrite1: ((back))
Tie Di Chiang: (front)
Jun Nekkara: ((And then I have convesations like this))
Jun Nekkara: ((Sorry...left))
DreaMwrite1: "Sadly when my pupil came to me with that expression on his face my suspicions have proved correct."
Tie Di Chiang: "the boy that ran out of the room just before I arrived?"
DreaMwrite1: "Tong She had been in the library, studying the most ancient of tomes for some time now."
DreaMwrite1: "Yes I'd assume it would be that boy."
DreaMwrite1: "The boy spotted him with a demon. A demon who goes by the name of Akuma."
DreaMwrite1: "I fear he is going to try and summon a powerful demon. A god among demons."
Tie Di Chiang: "I know Akuma all too well..."
DreaMwrite1: "The boy had only heard bits and pieces of the conversation, but it wasn't hard to fill in the blanks after reading the tomes he had been studying."
DreaMwrite1: "Then you know how dangerous Akuma is."
DreaMwrite1: "And the demon that Akuma and Tong She can release would be ten times more dangerous than both of them combined."
DreaMwrite1: "Let me explain."
Tie Di Chiang: "yes, quite... My friend went to the library to find a way to defeat Akuma... but I fear Tong She may have taken the relevant books with him"
Tie Di Chiang: "but I am sorry, please continue"
DreaMwrite1: "Long ago a great demon by the name of Tokoyami was born from the firey pits of hell. He led an army of demons of his own creation to take over the world..."
DreaMwrite1: "To make a long storyshort he was defeated by a powerful preist who, using a powerful amulet, sealed him away for all eternity in the depths of hell from which he came, along with the rest of his army."
DreaMwrite1: "It seems though that the greatest and most respected of the Shao-lin has betrayed us, studying the ancient texts in search of a way to free this demon."
DreaMwrite1: "I fear he has escaped so that he may summon the vile creature or give the information to another who can."
DreaMwrite1: ((which I could have pasted all that into one sentance. Ah well))
Tie Di Chiang: "intriguing... "
Tie Di Chiang: "this amulet... what did it look like?"
DreaMwrite1: "And that is the jist of it. If he was to summon that demon I am not sure how it would ever be stopped..." the monk lowers his head, almost as if mourning for the future lives of many.
DreaMwrite1: "I am unsure."
Tie Di Chiang: "Hmm, I must confer with my fellows... which way to the library?"
DreaMwrite1: "Actually there is an artwork done of the final battle against it, perhaps that has a picture of the amulet."
Tie Di Chiang: "ah, where is this image?"
DreaMwrite1: "Come follow me I'll show you."
DreaMwrite1: ((Sorry Jun about not responding to ya got a little too into Tie's part of the story.))
Jun Nekkara: ((Its okay))
Tie Di Chiang: "I suggest that you also scour Tong's room for evidence of his crimes"
Jun Nekkara: ((I'm figuring I won't get the help I want anyway))
DreaMwrite1: ((You getting all this though? Perhaps Tie will explain everything word for word so he can know all that has happened here ;-) ))
Jun Nekkara: ((OH, I always pay attention -- if I'm here))
DreaMwrite1: "His room is empty, monks do not see a reason in keeping secrets....until now that is..."
DreaMwrite1: "Here it is." the monk points toward a large painting with armies on either side.
Tie Di Chiang: *examines the painting*
DreaMwrite1: On one side is a mob of shadows and demons along with many humans.
DreaMwrite1: At the lead of this demonic army is a black robed individual with the hood covering its face.
Tie Di Chiang: (uh oh...)
DreaMwrite1: There is a tint of darkness around there side and at the same time a tint of light on the other.
Jun Nekkara: ((Nice to know there is a demon dress uniform :-P))
DreaMwrite1: On the lighter side is a man on a white horse wearing white robes.
Tie Di Chiang: (any amulets that look like that rock of Aira's?)
Tie Di Chiang: (or other amulets?)
DreaMwrite1: Behind the man is a large army of men.
DreaMwrite1: ((demon dress uniform or the outfit of a cult of some kind? You decide.))
DreaMwrite1: The man on horseback has something in his hand.
DreaMwrite1: It appears to be an amulet that looks a lot like the one that the preist in the temple had that you had recently visited.
Tie Di Chiang: (hmmmm...)
DreaMwrite1: "There it is. I hope that helps some."
Tie Di Chiang: (they defeated the demons with black tentacles...)
DreaMwrite1: ((Heh ya they defeated the demons with black tenticals ;-) ))
Tie Di Chiang: "I believe it does, though perhaps not in the way I expected..."
Tie Di Chiang: "but it at least gives me hope for the future"
Tie Di Chiang: "now, I must find my friend, I believe he should be in the library, could you show me the way to it?"
Tie Di Chiang: (... what am I saying... I used to live here...)
DreaMwrite1: ((lol
Tie Di Chiang: (the library's that way :-D )
DreaMwrite1: "I can show you the way if you want."
Tie Di Chiang: "wait, I think I know..." *heads towards where the library is in his time*
DreaMwrite1: "Oh ok."
DreaMwrite1: You walk down the long halls toward the library Tie.
DreaMwrite1: Tie finds Jun in the library arguing with one of the old men reading at one of their desks.
Jun Nekkara: ((Arguing? Wow, that is rather harsh. Must've went through them all being nice and gotten no where))
Tie Di Chiang: ("we only write in Chinese! Chinese best language to write in!")
Jun Nekkara: ((You can write in Chinese all you like. Just help me translate it!))
Tie Di Chiang: "what is going on here?"
Tie Di Chiang: "I thought youw ere doing research..."
Jun Nekkara: *stops 'arguing' and looks to Tie* "Yes, I wish that were the case. However there is one problem with that. I cannot read these books. I am not fluent in your language"
Tie Di Chiang: "is that all? well why didn't you ask one of the scholars to help you?" :-D
Jun Nekkara: "I tried to kindly ask for some assitance, but that has gotten me no where"
Tie Di Chiang: "well, maybe I can help..."
Jun Nekkara: "I would gladly accept your assistance in this matter"
Tie Di Chiang: *to one of the scribes, in Chinese* "do you know what books Master Tong She has been studying?"
Jun Nekkara: "From what I have gathered, there are no known ways to kill him for good. However, there are ways to seal him away. But I can't find the book for it. Even if I could, I would not be able to read it"
DreaMwrite1: "Oh yes he left them laying on the table over there, seemed to be in a hurry. I think he ripped out some of the pages, but didn't want to question his descision."
Jun Nekkara: ((Sure, they help Tie with no problems. Darn racist monks!))
DreaMwrite1: ((Heh now ya know how Tie feels in Japan))
Tie Di Chiang: (heh, well all the ones that speak Japanese are probably in Japan :-P )
Jun Nekkara: ((Was able to communicate with them earlier no problem :-P))
Tie Di Chiang: (could be worse, I could be Korean :-D )
Tie Di Chiang: "these books right here?" *goes to the table with the books*
DreaMwrite1: "Those are it."
Jun Nekkara: *keeps beside Tie*
Tie Di Chiang: "are there any books on the subject of sealing and destroying demons?"
DreaMwrite1: You look at the books and none of them mention sealing or demon destruction in the title.
Tie Di Chiang: (that was in character question :-P )
DreaMwrite1: Some are on the techniques of drawing mystic circles though.
DreaMwrite1: "The book that mentions Mystic Circles may be related to that but only a trained shinto preist may use that kind of magic. Nothing of use to a shao-lin monk."
Tie Di Chiang: "well, luckily my friend here is versed in such things"
Tie Di Chiang: *opens the book in question*
DreaMwrite1: Tie you find the book as interesting as watching the grass grow.
Tie Di Chiang: (any pictures that Jun might find useful? :-P )
DreaMwrite1: It has long drawn out rituals that discuss ways of summoning demons, those of protection, and those of banishing using the ancient art of circle magic.
DreaMwrite1: That is the jist of it. Many of the rituals require time and specific components to work.
DreaMwrite1: Which are listed in the book.
Tie Di Chiang: *checks through the other books and looks for torn pages*
Tie Di Chiang: "here, see if you understand any of these rituals" *hands the circle book to Jun*
DreaMwrite1: You find pages torn out of the book in the portion around demon summoning.
DreaMwrite1: The diagrams of the circles required to make are the only thing Jun can understand from it.
Tie Di Chiang: "I think we can safely assuem that the pages missing are on Tong's person"
Jun Nekkara: "Agreed"
Jun Nekkara: "And for this book, I will still need help in translating and specific ritual"
DreaMwrite1: The other books are also related to demons.
Tie Di Chiang: "Tong She has fled the temple, but apparentyl he was overheard in conversation with Akuma"
DreaMwrite1: One is based upon the battling and destruction of demons and the other is full of stories on demons.
Tie Di Chiang: "of further note, I believe I now know the identity of Aira's demon..."
Jun Nekkara: *looks to Tie* "And that person is?"
DreaMwrite1: ((Tokoyami was its name btw))
Tie Di Chiang: "it seems Tong She and Akuma summoned him in this time period... He was an ancient demon called Tokoyami, defeated long ago and sealed away with a amagic amulet"
Tie Di Chiang: "an amulet, which seems to be in the possesion of that wonderful chap at the temple in Aira's memory..."
Jun Nekkara: ((Isn't that the same amulet in Aira's hand? *tries to remember*))
DreaMwrite1: Jun you remember that is the same amulet in Aira's hand.
Jun Nekkara: "I see. Did you learn anything else that may be of use? Such as why your old teacher is working with Akuma?"
DreaMwrite1: Also the same amulet Akuma had used in the past.
Jun Nekkara: ((I would've checked the notes from the first game...but those are gone :-())
DreaMwrite1: ((np
Tie Di Chiang: "It would seem that the three are not equal partners"
Tie Di Chiang: "Akuma and Tong She brought Tokoyami back to life in order to increase their own powers... Tokoyami seems to have been a great King among the demons long ago, creating many of the lesser infernals with his own hands"
Tie Di Chiang: "I still do not understand his connection to Aira, or her mother, but I reckon that the book Aira acquired is an important piece of the puzzle"
Jun Nekkara: *looks intrigued* "So you are saying this Tokoyami is the one in charge then?"
Tie Di Chiang: "he may well be"
Jun Nekkara: *seems a bit frustrated* "Yes, I'm sure the book is. However, it is useless to us now"
Tie Di Chiang: "one of his reputed power could certainly be the one that resurrected Akuma"
Tie Di Chiang: "perhaps, perhaps not... Kitsun could read it, if we ever make it back to our own time..."
Jun Nekkara: "Last time she said she was unable"
Jun Nekkara: "Do you think she was perhaps lying?"
Tie Di Chiang: (I could have sworn she could read it... she was dead set against it when she was masquerading as a human...)
Tie Di Chiang: (mah anyway...)
Tie Di Chiang: "at any rate, we may be able to find something useful in these books" *begins to translate the magic circles to Jun*
Jun Nekkara: ((Fairly sure before she passed out and we were attacked she said she honestly couldn't though))
Jun Nekkara: "For now, that will have to do"
Jun Nekkara: *will take notes on parchment much like the other monks if they will be so kind as to let me have a piece*
DreaMwrite1: One of the monks brings you a piece of parchment and something to write with Jun.
DreaMwrite1: Its a rather long book Tie anything specific you want to translate?
Tie Di Chiang: (well, basically I'm just telling Jun the names and functions until he hears one that he thinks might be the one we want"
DreaMwrite1: ((Ahh ok
Tie Di Chiang: (any that involve binding really powerful demons away for eternity :-) )
Jun Nekkara: ((Making sure they suffer while there :-D))
Tie Di Chiang: (ideally with the help of a cerian amulat :-) )
Tie Di Chiang: (^certain)
DreaMwrite1: Jun you hear about rituals for protection agat demons (which sounds rather like your spirit ward), ones for summoning demons, summoning spirits, rituals for containment of demons, etc.
DreaMwrite1: ((^amulet))
Jun Nekkara: *asks Tie to stop at summoning spirits and asks him to elaborate*
Jun Nekkara: "It is something I had not planned on, but it could come in handy"
DreaMwrite1: The ritual allows you to summon a specific spirit to their location. It requires knowing the name of the individual spirit along with the necessary components.
Tie Di Chiang: "Circle for the Invocation of Spirituous Beings"
Jun Nekkara: *wonders what Garouki's real name was*
Jun Nekkara: *takes down all the required information*
Tie Di Chiang: (search deep within yourself and you shall find it :-) )
DreaMwrite1: You jot down the entire ritual on the parchment Jun, your hands are now hurting.
DreaMwrite1: Hand that is.
Jun Nekkara: *flexes hand* "That was much. But we cannot stop now. We still must worry about a way to deal with Akuma...and perhaps this Tokoyami now. Please continue"
DreaMwrite1: Tie you read over the book further.
Jun Nekkara: ((I guess it will be time to pay a bit more attention on the rituals for containing demons))
DreaMwrite1: The next section being "The Circle of the Containment of Higher Order Demons."...
DreaMwrite1: To Be Continued.
Jun Nekkara: ((Definitely sounds like what I'm looking for))
DreaMwrite1: Heh yep
DreaMwrite1: Well I think that was a rather good game. Got to learn a lot more about what is going on.
Tie Di Chiang: "circle for the curing of sexual impotence"
DreaMwrite1: lol
Jun Nekkara: And got a chance for getting Garouki back. Though whether he is alive or dead still remains unknown
DreaMwrite1: That kind of knowledge is unknown to even the greatest preists.
DreaMwrite1: What do you all think of the game?
DreaMwrite1: Comments? Suggestions?
Tie Di Chiang: "gather one ginseng, on the night of a full moon, in the Hour of the Dragon... grind ginseng and vigorously rub--"
Tie Di Chiang: 'Twas fun
DreaMwrite1: Heh nice TIe.
Tie Di Chiang: accomplished a few important goals
Jun Nekkara: Aye, fun indeed. And I'm just wanting to know how Jun's little experiment to get Garouki back will turn out
DreaMwrite1: ya
Jun Nekkara: Though I'll have to pry full details out of Tie later
DreaMwrite1: Poor Tie
DreaMwrite1: Bad enough that he finds out that his teacher is an evil mastermind set out to take over the world.
Jun Nekkara: I don't believe it
Jun Nekkara: I'm still skeptical
DreaMwrite1: O:-)
DreaMwrite1: Anyways
DreaMwrite1: IRC is a chat program that some other BESM people use
Tie Di Chiang: Internet Relay Chat
DreaMwrite1: There ya go
Tie Di Chiang: it's tsort of the original chatroom software
DreaMwrite1: I'm not sure where to download it but www.fileplanet.com should have it if you do a search on IRC
Jun Nekkara: And of course, I can't possibly believe that Aira's enemy is Tokoyami (personally). If he is so much more powerful than Akuma and Tie's master, then we would never stand a chance. We can't take either of those two as it is
Tie Di Chiang: it's not something you download technically
Tie Di Chiang: you do have to doanload a client program to access it
DreaMwrite1: ya guys think it is just Aira's enemy
Tie Di Chiang: well the picture looked an awful lot liek him
Jun Nekkara: ((Well, we all have to have our personal enemies before the big bad guy, right?))
Tie Di Chiang: he well, I asusme he's her father :-D
Tie Di Chiang: or something special to her in some way
Tie Di Chiang: not just an enemy
Tie Di Chiang: after all, my 'nemesis' if you will, used to be my teacher
DreaMwrite1: yep
Tie Di Chiang: and Akuma's everybody's enemy :-P
Tie Di Chiang: as are they all really
Jun Nekkara: Hey, there's history there between us. He's mine! :-P
DreaMwrite1: So true
DreaMwrite1: Heh rock/paper/scissors to fight Akuma?
Tie Di Chiang: hehe, in a martial arts setting like this, rock is a punch in the face, paper's a karate chop, and scissors an eye-poke :-D
DreaMwrite1: heh
Jun Nekkara: That would be Dragon Ball
DreaMwrite1: yep Goku loves rock/paper/scissors.
Jun Nekkara: Well, he did the attacks like Tie was just saying
Tie Di Chiang: hehe, well it's natural
Jun Nekkara: Ya, I'm not saying that is where you got it. Just a mental visual for me, that is all
Tie Di Chiang: Rock is a fist, paper an open hand with fingers together, and scissors two fingers
Tie Di Chiang: a punch, a chop, and a poke :-)
Jun Nekkara: A poke reminiscent of the Three Stooges
Tie Di Chiang: Nyuku nyuk nyuk!
Tie Di Chiang: Stooge Fu!
Jun Nekkara: Hey, why don't you go make an art form like that Tie
DreaMwrite1: lol
Tie Di Chiang: I think somebody may have beaten me to it *checks PMAN*
Jun Nekkara: Did they really?
Tie Di Chiang: Not sure, just sounds familiar
Jun Nekkara: *waits to see if it is there or not*
DreaMwrite1: hmm so have ya thought on a mecha char at all Prysus?
Jun Nekkara: Um....not really
Tie Di Chiang: Hmm, don't see it... Could have sworn I'd seen Stoogitsu somewhere, but maybe I just imagined it :-P
Jun Nekkara: How soon would I need him?
DreaMwrite1: Hmm maybe a month at most
Jun Nekkara: I guess you've just been dreaming about such a form for longer than you thought
DreaMwrite1: Its hard to say for sure how long this campaign will go but it seems to be wrapping up
DreaMwrite1: I believe Tinker here is going to be playing a mechanical genious of some kind?
Tie Di Chiang: Yup
Tie Di Chiang: Probably
DreaMwrite1: I'll have the info on the background and such all written up
DreaMwrite1: Decided not to require Uses Energy for the weapon systems though
Tie Di Chiang: Haven't gottena round to actually designing a mecha yet though
DreaMwrite1: maybe your two's mecha can merge together into a super bot?
Tie Di Chiang: I'll endeavor not to go overboard this time
Jun Nekkara: I have absolutely no clue what I'm going to be doing with my character to be honest
DreaMwrite1: Thats alright.
DreaMwrite1: It might be nice to think on it some though
Jun Nekkara: Well, there are still things I'm not fully sure about, so I'm having trouble thinking of a good character
Tie Di Chiang: Well, think of the common themes that appear in mecha shows... the rookie pilot, the streetwise bad boy, the techie, the girl...
Tie Di Chiang: the Idol Singer :-D
Jun Nekkara: Not saying I can't go with one of those concepts, but I still need to know more things before I decide what I'm going to do. I think I'll wait for the background before I start
Tie Di Chiang: Hmm, might just convert something out of Mekton...
Tie Di Chiang: good idea
Tie Di Chiang: helps to have a history like that to base the character on
Jun Nekkara: Of course, I still haven't figured out everything I'm going to do with my current character
DreaMwrite1: The characters will be residents of Area 51 got that much done.
DreaMwrite1: They are all military relitives though there are also people who escaped to Utah during the begining of the bug invasion.
Jun Nekkara: Hey, do either of you know how many games its been since we started this new storyline in the campaign?
DreaMwrite1: Hmm I believe febuary
DreaMwrite1: Its been a while with Jun, Tie, and Aira
Jun Nekkara: Well, I"m not talking about the break. I'm just talking about since we started back up again
Tie Di Chiang: well it's been more or less every week for a couple of months
Jun Nekkara: So no ideas on numbers, huh? Okay, not a problem
Tie Di Chiang: Started in June or July I think
DreaMwrite1: hmm since March
DreaMwrite1: no wait June
Tie Di Chiang: that long ago? I could have sworn we only restarted at the beginning of Summer...
Tie Di Chiang: because you were starting up Sumemr classes
Tie Di Chiang: ^summer
DreaMwrite1: Was thinking I hadnt done research on it in march but I was starting summer courses when we started
DreaMwrite1: So it was in June
DreaMwrite1: This is our 11th game
Jun Nekkara: Okay, that is all I was asking. THank you
DreaMwrite1: so about a couple months
DreaMwrite1: nm this was our 12
DreaMwrite1: anyways I'll send ya the background when I'm finished with it
Jun Nekkara: Okay
DreaMwrite1: Should have it done by tomarrow
DreaMwrite1: I think I'll take out the defense system from the mecha too
Jun Nekkara: So that means I lost the records of the first 8 games. That is what I was trying to figure out
DreaMwrite1: It just doesnt feel fair for me to have as many requirements as I did
DreaMwrite1: I'll send ya all of them if ya want me to
DreaMwrite1: Or I can make a website and post them on there
Jun Nekkara: I'll be happy to get a copy of them again
DreaMwrite1: there ya go
DreaMwrite1: did you get that?
DreaMwrite1: The first game isnt there cause it was in palladium chat I believe
DreaMwrite1: sigh which sucks a whole bunch
Jun Nekkara: I got it
DreaMwrite1: glad to hear it
DreaMwrite1: one of these days I'm going to edit all of it so it can look like a story
Jun Nekkara: Sorry for the delay, was just looking it over. And ya, I think I remember that game being in the Palladium chats
DreaMwrite1: Might be fun to have people read the adventures of a monk, a preist, and a little girl
Jun Nekkara: We had an AIM phobe in the group
DreaMwrite1: yep
Tie Di Chiang: We did?
Jun Nekkara: He lasted but one game
Tie Di Chiang: Hmm...
Jun Nekkara: Another one of the many individuals that Jun didn't get along with. Something with the new characters always wanting to kill us
DreaMwrite1: heh
Jun Nekkara: Tie, he was a half or full demon (can't remember which) that I believe resembled something like a cat. He had the ability to turn water into a weapon
Tie Di Chiang: ah, that guy
Tie Di Chiang: yeah, he played a Wampyr in the Nightbane campaign
Tie Di Chiang: I thought we were talking about the very first game of all...
DreaMwrite1: heh
Tie Di Chiang: one of the game in the first campaign was also played in the Palladium chatroom, when AOL chat was shut down for maintenance one night
Jun Nekkara: Nope, though I am missing the first game with Jun. Right after the obliteration of poor Tenkei :'( I still weep for him at night :-P
DreaMwrite1: yep I remember that
Jun Nekkara: I remember that game as well
DreaMwrite1: heh
DreaMwrite1: Which was that?
Tie Di Chiang: Hmm, I think it was pretty far into the campaign
Tie Di Chiang: But I can't remember exactly
DreaMwrite1: the third game I believe
DreaMwrite1: First was Shinzoku and second was Arashi
Tie Di Chiang: well okay, maybe it was the opposite
Jun Nekkara: Well, Jun entered the 3rd, but the game in the Palladium chat came later
Tie Di Chiang: all the game kind of run together for me :-P
Tie Di Chiang: ^games
