(16:42:16) ChatBot: Prysus is now known as ((GM)_Prysus).(16:42:28) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife is now known as (PC)_Trent).(16:43:23) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, ready?(16:43:57) (PC)_Trent): ready!(16:44:13) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay then, unless there are any complaints, fast forward some more?(16:44:21) (PC)_Trent): no complaints(16:54:45) ((GM)_Prysus): All right, after their journey to the Tree People and having obtained the Air Stone the Tree King willingly shares the same information on the Great City he once told Nanato. If what Grandmother said is true, Nanato may hold the key to learn more about stones they seek. They depart from Ender's Veil to try and see if they can find it and Nanato. For reasons known only to Grandmother has asked Aerial to join them. Though at first she resisted, Grandmother convinced her by telling her about how much danger they would likely find and how they could benefit from such a skilled healer. After some talk on the matter the group agrees. Grandmother's true motivations though appear to have remain hidden. It is hard to tell what they may be, even for Trent who has played the game before. While it is not uncommon to have Aerial join the party Grandmother's true motivation, one she never says, can change depending on the storyarc. There are a few possibilities including one Trent may not have played through before.(16:57:37) ((GM)_Prysus): On their way, they run into an unexpected delay. Their vehicle runs out of fuel. In a post apocalyptic world there isn't simply a place to refuel every few blocks. Finding one that still remains at all can often be a feat in itself. As a result they've been forced to continue the journey on their own. As a result they have encountered many more monsters along the way and leveled at a fair rate. Currently they are under attack from Sand Raiders. They are a group that are found in sandy locations, and as a game mechanic they are quite skilled at stealing items. The Sand Raiders are covered in sand brown cloaks that conceal their features. From what can be seen of their features they appear to be camels in nature, though like so many other things in this game quite possibly mutated (though their full features are never truly shown).(17:00:17) (PC)_Trent): *has a grim satisfaction for taking out the camels, and fights ferociously*(17:04:47) ((GM)_Prysus): They have nearly finished the battle, and most of the enemy won't be able to take many more hits. There are three Sand Raiders left. 1 of them is currently incapacitated by one of Aerial's herbs. Since the battle with the tree people she has gathered new herbs (her techniques expanded) and learned to incapacitate enemies for a time. While it does no damage it prevents them from attacking and they cannot dodge, though the first time they're hit they snap out of it and they eventually come to after so much time regardless. While the enemy has taken a good beating the team hasn't taken nearly as much, and what little they have Aerial has been able to continue healing them keeping them near full. Of course, the damage a Sand Raider can do is more in the items they steal as opposed to the physical damage they can inflict.(17:04:52) ((GM)_Prysus): Initiative!(17:05:03) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (12)+1=13.(17:05:20) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Sand Raider 1 then 2 (3 can't move so he has none).(17:05:24) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (1,2,15,13,16)=47.(17:05:48) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky and Holiday had to already have their move.(17:06:14) (PC)_Trent): (teehee. Of course(17:07:11) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, it'll be Sand Raider 1 (technically 2, but easier just to call him 1 now), Aerial, Trent/Sand Raider 2 (at the same time, yup! Truly simultaneous which can be tricky good fun), then Sky and Holiday.(17:07:27) ((GM)_Prysus): Sand Raider 1 will attack ...(17:07:31) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d6 and gets (1)=1.(17:07:38) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky. :p(17:07:48) ((GM)_Prysus): Sand Raider then Sky ...(17:07:51) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (18,15)=33.(17:08:15) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d100 and gets (69)=69.(17:09:10) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent, roll a D20.(17:09:37) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (13)=13.(17:12:19) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent notices the Sand Raider actually grop Sky!(17:13:11) ((GM)_Prysus): I'll make a saving roll for Sand Raider 3 (to see if he wakes up, needs a 15 or higher).(17:13:13) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (13)=13.(17:13:32) ((GM)_Prysus): Still snoozing (but he lowers his roll by 1, so he'll only need a 14 or higher next time).(17:15:30) ((GM)_Prysus): Meanwhile, Aerial uses more herbs to heal the last of Holiday's wounds (so everyone will be at full health now).(17:17:31) ((GM)_Prysus): Meanwhile ... Trent/Sand Raider 2: Both move at the same time, their movements nearly synced. So far he's been heading straight for Trent each time.(17:18:15) (PC)_Trent): "Sky, he took something from you." *can't help but smirk a little, even as he's moving forward against his equally quick opponent, slashing into his gut*(17:18:33) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (14)+8=22.(17:18:37) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday's primary attack status has been defending Aerial from attack (primary) and attacking from a distance when possible (secondary). It's a standard strategy, but still decent.(17:19:19) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (3)+5=8.(17:19:31) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (5)+4=9.(17:19:39) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing ...(17:21:32) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent moves in for his attack, the Sand Raider moves in for his. As they meet up they both go to attack, but Trent is faster. The Sand Raider tries to switch to defense and avoid it, but again he's too slow. These last few levels have really helped Trent's speed and power of attack as he connects. The Sand Raider hits the ground, his body sinking into the sand (this isn't a super bloody game with bodies lying everywhere, so the bodies typically end up being disposed of in some manner or another).(17:21:54) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky then Sand Raider 1 ...(17:21:59) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (4,11)=15.(17:22:09) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d100 and gets (2)=2.(17:23:04) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent, D20.(17:23:16) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (14)=14.(17:24:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky moves in again, but the one she's up against seems tough. It's not uncommon for even the small battles to have a superior quality leader. From the look of things, this is that leader. As Sky attacks the Sand Raider is able to duck underneath and quickly move out of the way. But those fast hands are quite busy and snatch something else from Sky.(17:24:19) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday ...(17:24:21) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (20)=20.(17:24:25) ((GM)_Prysus): Sand Raider ...(17:24:29) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (8)=8.(17:25:40) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, I'll let you roll a die of your choosing after you call high or low. If you call it right the Sand Raider is slain. If it's the other way the Sand Raider is still alive.(17:26:20) (PC)_Trent): High(17:26:22) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d11 and gets (6)=6.(17:27:22) ((GM)_Prysus): Since you decided to roll an odd sided dice ... and that isn't high or low ... I guess that means you didn't get it right.(17:30:32) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (2)=2.(17:33:07) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, seems like ChatBot wants the Sand Raider to live ... so he shall. That makes it his move and ... he's going to run! Or at least try it. Choices are to try and catch him or attack him (range would work best for that as he's fast and melee would mean you'd have to catch him). He gets to roll a D20+Spd attribute as his escape or as his dodge (it works both ways during an escape).(17:33:13) ((GM)_Prysus): Or you can let him go.(17:33:39) (PC)_Trent): (did he steal anything from me? :p )(17:33:41) ((GM)_Prysus): Ranged attacks will have the -10 to dodge rule though.(17:33:48) ((GM)_Prysus): Nothing from Trent.(17:34:41) ((GM)_Prysus): Well, not all ranged attacks. Only the magical ranged attacks (meaning those from the stones).(17:34:55) (PC)_Trent): *lets him go and then goes to back up Sky, going from the side where he wouldn't actually be in her way.*(17:35:42) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, time I roll a D20 for luck.(17:35:44) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (11)=11.(17:36:30) ((GM)_Prysus): There is still the immobilized Sand Raider. Meanwhile ...(17:39:16) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky pauses for a moment. Then it looks like she realizes something.(17:39:36) ((GM)_Prysus): Sand Raider then Sky ...(17:39:40) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (6,1)=7.(17:40:00) (PC)_Trent): "He didn't take anything, he was fighting me all this time... "(17:40:28) ((GM)_Prysus): No, Trent killed his. The guy took two items from Sky.(17:40:38) (PC)_Trent): OH!(17:41:52) (PC)_Trent): >_< okay, I read it now. THe one I'm fighting is dead, the one stealing from sky got away. I thought for some reason I was rolling luck to see if the one I was fighting was taken out.(17:42:28) (PC)_Trent): My mistake. >_< *uses a lightning strike from air-stone to try to take out the one Sky is chasing, on his turn*(17:42:51) ((GM)_Prysus): I had you roll to see if Holiday took out Sky's opponent (who was a leader typer opponent). He was tough enough to take it.(17:43:32) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent can try it, but it will be a lot harder due to the delay (basically now he has a lot of distance to him). But you can roll to strike.(17:44:07) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (5)+5=10.(17:44:43) ((GM)_Prysus): And yeah, with that roll he'd have gotten away regardless (don't feel bad, ChatBot has hated Sky far worse with the rolls).(17:45:33) ((GM)_Prysus): ((I don't think Sky has had a single good roll today.(17:45:35) (PC)_Trent): *sighs* "Too bad we can't trade the one we caught for whatever was stolen."(17:45:52) ((GM)_Prysus): The Sand Raider gets away. Meanwhile, let's see if 3 wakes up.(17:45:54) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (18)=18.(17:46:01) ((GM)_Prysus): He's awake!(17:46:26) ((GM)_Prysus): But he has last initiative (waking up was his move). Sky isn't around as she gave chase (and will have to return).(17:47:09) (PC)_Trent): *attacks him, but stays out of Holiday's line of fire*(17:47:41) ((GM)_Prysus): Roll it.(17:47:54) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (14)+8=22.(17:48:13) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial Holiday, Sand Raider dodge of Trent, Aerial, then Holiday ...(17:48:19) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (7,9,7,10,3)=36.(17:48:54) ((GM)_Prysus): He dodges Aerial, but is going to be hit by Trent and Holiday. I'll say he's sufficiently finished off before he can attack or run.(17:51:37) (PC)_Trent): *sheaths his sword and tries to look innocent while Sky fumes.*(17:51:52) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky returns, and she looks fairly annoyed. "We need to find them."(17:53:26) (PC)_Trent): "Why, what did they take?(17:54:03) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "He has the Fire Stone."(17:54:43) ((GM)_Prysus): ((There was a very slim chance of it ... but he did roll a 02% on one of his skill rolls.(17:54:52) (PC)_Trent): oO(I... didn't realize they could take quest items(17:55:17) ((GM)_Prysus): ((She went to hit him with a Fireball when she realized she couldn't.(17:55:30) (PC)_Trent): "Let's go find them."(17:56:32) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Player: oO(Why isn't Fireball working?! Wait ...) *Checks inventory.* :O! "That bastard!"))(17:57:19) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Just so you can see the order of Events from a gamer's perspective.))(17:59:18) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And we can fast forward through as much of the side quest as player would like. Or we could go through some of the smaller battles trying to hunt down the proper camp.))(18:00:19) (PC)_Trent): we can avoid the smaller battles, (unless they provide clues/information) but can play the camp(18:12:29) ((GM)_Prysus): Sand Raiders tend to live in various camps. Many of them often don't get along as they are competitors, and being friends means having to share the spoils. While not a common sight, in some areas when in a battle with Sand Raiders it's not unheard of to see one Sand Raider attack or steal from another instead of dealing with the group. After defeating most of the enemy there is the option to try and ask them questions, and some will give up information in exchange for being set free, though depending on the information sometimes they'll ask for something in exchange in addition to the freedom (like some type of item they'd otherwise have stolen).(18:12:41) ((GM)_Prysus): After several battles, and a few items later, they find the Sand Raider camp they're looking for. The camp though is ... very large. There are hundreds of Sand Raiders within the camp, and trying to take them all out could be quite the effort. Beyond just the normal Sand Raiders there are likely to be several leaders (like the one who stole the Fire Stone), and one would guess at least one boss, or at least a mini-boss. There are options to try and sneak in to steal it back, to try and convince another Sand Raider camp to attack them, to do a frontal assault which will be a long battle but if successful will yield lots of experience and more loot. Seeing as this is their camp, the Sand Raiders won't be able to escape with items (have no where to run to).(18:13:45) ((GM)_Prysus): ((You can always suggest something different. Those were just off the top of my head. This wasn't a planned side quest.(18:14:07) (PC)_Trent): (teehee)(18:15:11) (PC)_Trent): *turns to Sky.* "Think we can beat them all without the fire stone?"(18:17:28) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky: "I think it's possible, but we'll need a lot of healing." *He looks at Aerial.* Aerial: "I can try, but we'll need to find more healing herbs." ((Effectively think of picking up more potions, only you have to hunt down plants for this.))(18:18:40) (PC)_Trent): "Hmmm... let's try to convince another Sand Raider camp."(18:18:57) (PC)_Trent): "They can do some of the fighting for us, and back us up."(18:19:45) (PC)_Trent): "Unless you guys have a better idea? I'ts not like there's a town watch around that wouldn't mind assisting us... is there?"(18:19:53) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Note: By having another Sand Raider camp help they'll be taking a lot of experience and loot for themselves.))(18:21:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday, "The only towns here are those they make. No towns can make it here as they're soon looted of anything of value."(18:22:13) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And if Trent would like one method but player a different you can always let me know out of character. Remember, Trent isn't the one actually making the decisions for the group.(18:22:30) (PC)_Trent): (teehee)(18:22:58) (PC)_Trent): (player either wants backup... or... going in and defeating everything(18:23:21) (PC)_Trent): (Trent would prefer the first... but if he was actually playing the game instead of being in it, would probably do the second)(18:24:03) ((GM)_Prysus): Both have their advantages, and both will take time. I can flip a coin if you don't want to decide yourself.(18:24:17) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And yeah, as a player I would be thinking the second as well.(18:24:18) (PC)_Trent): :-?(18:24:33) (PC)_Trent): Actually... go for the full attack(18:24:47) (PC)_Trent): because that is so totally the Player option(18:25:02) ((GM)_Prysus): (( "Kill overything ... XP ... loot ... total slaughter!"(18:30:14) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay the decision, regardless of Trent's suggestion, is to hunt down some more herbs so that Aerial will be able to heal them a lot during the mass onslaught that is bond to occur. Everyone's primary battle objectives is to keep Aerial safe (she can heal them, but if she gets taken out all healing will stop!), with attacks as the secondary.(18:30:30) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Unless you'd like to role-play more of that or have some plans inbetween.))(18:31:54) (PC)_Trent): *stays fairly close to Aerial, has enough enemies that he doesn't have to worry too much about seeking them, and makes sure nothing steals his airstone while he attacks, building up and saving his special technique for either a mini-boss or the leader that stole the firestone*(18:34:00) ((GM)_Prysus): And, I'm taking it that you don't want to roll out defeating the hundred plus, do you?(18:34:27) (PC)_Trent): teehee. We can skip to the boss battleor mini-boss battle. Or battle with the coptian. (18:37:07) ((GM)_Prysus): All right, I'll do it in waves. 5 waves total, plus a boss (or mini-boss).(18:37:30) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d5 and gets (5)=5.(18:38:17) ((GM)_Prysus): Our cops a feel Sand Raider will be in the fifth wave.(18:38:26) (PC)_Trent): (teehee)(18:38:39) ((GM)_Prysus): I'll give just one roll per wave to see how everyone is doing.(18:38:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Wave 1 ...(18:38:56) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (8,18,10,6)=42.(18:39:49) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (16)=16.(18:44:39) ((GM)_Prysus): The group goes through several of the Sand Raiders with considerable skill. Aerial keeps the group fairly healthy with her herbs, and even gets the chance to use a few herbs to immobolize enemies or cause their actions to be slowed. With this many enemies they're able to earn the chance to use Special Techniques fairly quickly. Holiday fires one of special shots that hits an enemy and then explodes, damaging all those around it with secondary damage. Meanwhile, Trent is able to use his Lightning Blade to take down one of the leaders in a single strike. All these battles are really helping his character grow in strength and capabilities.(18:46:26) ((GM)_Prysus): And, unless there is something more you'd like to add, next wave?(18:46:41) (PC)_Trent): (Sure.(18:46:45) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (3)=3.(18:46:46) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (7,10,2,7)=26.(18:52:56) ((GM)_Prysus): Unfortunately for the group the enemy just keeps on coming, and even though they have such large numbers these are not just some low level opponents making this a truly difficult battle. With no end to them they continue wave after wave they're starting to get through some of the defenses. Of the entire team Holiday appears to be holding up the best and pacing himself well to handle this battle of attrition. However, Trent has not faired as well and required the most heals of everyone involved. Aerial has had no chance to take any offensive actions and simply trying to keep everyone as healthy as possible, a losing battle as it stands. She's even taken some damage herself as some of the enemy is able to sneak through due to their overwhelming numbers.(18:52:58) ((GM)_Prysus): Unlike the previous battles they don't go for many stealing techniques. This is their home, and their top priority seems to be protecting it. That, and they'll be able to loot the bodies if they win so the need to steal right now is at a minimum. However, after considerably more effort they're able to take down a good number more, and with a skilled shot from Holiday taking down another leader with a blast to the head.(18:53:42) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And though the GM has broken them down into waves, it should be noted that the Sand Raiders aren't really coming in waves but all at once.))(18:55:22) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And when you're ready we can do Wave 3.))(18:55:38) ((GM)_Prysus): For note: Even though they are taking damage, the group is much stronger than the Sand Raiders and can take considerablly more damage.(18:55:45) (PC)_Trent): "Aerial, make sure you keep yourself healed too!" *is panting slightly, has never been in such a battle in real life, and it feels real, fighting hordes of foes. Continues on, and slashes to the eyes as much as possible.*(18:55:54) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (13)=13.(18:55:57) (PC)_Trent):(18:56:02) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (2,18,18,12)=50.(19:03:56) ((GM)_Prysus): The battle continues on. More and more are attacking. Sky suddenly gets overwhelmed as a large number tackle her! Holiday quickly uses another of his special techniques (recharged due to the large number of enemies) and fires of a large barrage of bullets with both guns. The spray of bullets is almost like watching machine gun fire ... only he's using hand guns and with far more deadly accuracy. Meanwhile, Aerial is able to use one of her own special techniques for a mega-healing herb formula that allows her to completely restore the health of one target and it's used on the most damaged (I won't say who it is as this is all fairly descriptive more than statistic). Meanwhile, she is able to keep herself healed. Trent is able to hold his own, though he does still take a few hits. Once again he's able to use his Lightning Blade on the leader, but this time he doesn't go down in one hit and still requires a few more hits before he is defeated.(19:06:21) ((GM)_Prysus): And Wave 4, when you're ready.(19:06:42) (PC)_Trent): *continues on, protecting Aerial to free up Holiday to protect Sky more (since anything that Sky couldn't take on would probably be out of Trent's league(19:06:43) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Mostly don't want to cut you off and give you time to say or do something in between the rolls.))(19:06:45) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (17)=17.(19:06:56) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (12,3,16,14)=45.(19:07:06) (PC)_Trent): ( *nods* I appreciate it(19:13:32) ((GM)_Prysus): One of the greatest weaknesses to Holiday is that while he's a master gunslinger he struggles when an enemy gets up close. No matter how fast he can kill them some are always able to get through as a result of waves and some are still getting through. Sky is able to help get them off of Holiday, but it is slower going because while lots have their specialties, she's so balanced at times it can take her longer to do things like take out lots of enemies (if that makes sense). Before they're completely pushed away they've managed to do some pretty hefty damage, but to their benefit Aerial is able to heal enough to make the damage sustained nearly neglegable. Meanwhile, Trent has actually been able to do a fair amount of fighting the other masses while Sky and Holiday were occupied, including another leader with his standard sword technique, finishing it off with a skillfully timed rolling strike.(19:15:51) (PC)_Trent): oO(BOOYAH!(19:15:53) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (18)=18.(19:16:07) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (15,8,11,4)=38.(19:27:34) ((GM)_Prysus): The group is definitely getting into a rhythm. Or, more likely, the Sand Raiders are getting so thinned out it's actually getting easier. The health of the entire team is actually at decent levels at this point, though not full. However, none are in bad or even medium condition. Trent has been racking up many of the kills. Holiday is starting to definitely lag behind, and it almost looks like Trent actually doing better. He has been able to take out a large number of the enemy while letting Holiday hold back protecting Aerial and get healed (because he was hurt pretty good last time).(19:27:43) ((GM)_Prysus): Meanwhile, in the battle they come across the leader who not only stole the Fire Stone by actually took a very inappropriate feel he shouldn't have. While Trent is able to save his next Lightning Blade for the boss coming up Sky uses hers now, throwing her sword at the leader. The sword lops cuts through half his chest in the throw, likely enough to kill him. However, it doesn't end there as Sky moves and catches the sword behind him. Then, much like with the other boss, she comes down with it cleaving him in half. Sure, it was overkill, but it's one of those times when a player may do something like that just to feel better because the opponent has given them so much grief. She lands, and looks at the body. Then she looks to the others, "He doesn't have it on him."(19:27:48) ((GM)_Prysus): Suddenly from not too far away they hear another voice, "No, he didn't ... because I do!" While the Sand Raider doesn't look particularly big or strong, his cloak is rather distinguishing. In addition, he's casting a very large fireball ... one large enough to potentially hit the entire team!(19:28:01) ((GM)_Prysus): Fireball roll to strike ...(19:28:07) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (6)+3=9.(19:28:14) ((GM)_Prysus): However, it's a -10 to dodge.(19:28:24) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, Holiday, Aerial ...(19:28:28) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 3d20 and gets (15,2,8)=25.(19:28:39) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (6)=6.(19:30:36) ((GM)_Prysus): The only one able to move out of the way of the fireball is Sky.(19:30:39) ((GM)_Prysus): Initiative!(19:31:10) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Sand Raider leader (boss), Sand Raiders (boss support) ...(19:31:17) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (15,14,16,4,17)=66.(19:31:23) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (10)+1=11.(19:32:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, I'll keep it fairly quick. Sand Raider (I'll state "leader" for the boss, if just Sand Raider it's the minions) will attack in general ...(19:33:14) ((GM)_Prysus): Sand Raiders (attack all), Sky, Holiday, Aerial (the three for defense) ...(19:33:16) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (7,6,12,15)=40.(19:33:39) ((GM)_Prysus): And yes, Trent can roll defense too.(19:33:52) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (15)+8=23.(19:34:11) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent easily is able to avoid the attacks from the support Sand Raiders.(19:34:30) ((GM)_Prysus): The entire team gets to go (and I'll remind Trent he has his Special Technique available).(19:35:20) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky and Trent (this round) are set for the Leader, while Holiday is set for defense of Aerial and attacking the Sand Raiders secondary. Aerial is on heal duty.(19:35:32) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Mind you, Trent doesn't have to listen.))(19:35:43) (PC)_Trent): *uses his special technique, after saving it,(19:36:07) (PC)_Trent): (He's attacking the leader because he wants to, not because they told him to(19:36:22) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Rolling strike is really only useful to avoid an attack ... and the boss didn't attack yet because he has last initiative.))(19:36:36) (PC)_Trent): Ah, okay. :-?(19:36:45) (PC)_Trent): in that case will just charge in with Electric Blade(19:37:34) ((GM)_Prysus): Basically a Rolling Strike is a dodge that can be followed up with a quick strike (good for catching opponents before they can recover from their attack or for fast opponents like the mini-boss he first learned it on).(19:37:40) ((GM)_Prysus): Strike roll.(19:37:54) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky and then Leader defense Trent, defense Sky.(19:38:08) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 3d20 and gets (13,8,11)=32.(19:38:32) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (16)+8=24.(19:38:45) (PC)_Trent): (nice(19:49:47) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky and Trent both move in on the leader. Two of the Sand Raiders move in to intercept each of them when two well placed shots take out each of them. The boss tries to move, but too slow. First to hit is Sky with a massive slash of her sword into the belly of the leader. Even though it's not her Special Technique, she's still a very powerful character and did considerable damage with just the one hit. As he sword flies out of the wound Trent follows up in a Combo move (as discussed in a prior game). His sword peneatrates right into the open wound allowing his blade to easily penetrate deeper into the enemy. The entire blade crackles with electricity. Streak of lightning strike out in all directions as they surround and consume the leader. It is destroying him inside out and out. Finally all the electricity accumulates in one spot and lashes out sending the Sand Raider Leader sprawling back and sliding across the floor. Smoke rises up from the charred body.(19:49:50) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent knows that not all of what happened is normal for his Special Technique, but it was a scene for the defeat of a boss (or at least mini-boss). The last few Sand Raiders stop and look on in shock. It's the option in the game to kill them anyways for possible experience and loot, or let them live. Sometimes the merciful option has rewards later, sometimes not. Of course, the experience and loot they may provide is minimal for a few extras compared to the hundred or so they just finished off.(19:52:00) (PC)_Trent): *does a quick victory stance, then grins.*(19:54:01) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky goes over to claim the Fire Stone before anything else.(19:56:56) (PC)_Trent): "So... do we finish them off and loot their remains? Or show mercy?(19:58:45) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday, "We should finish them off. If we don't they may just cause us problems in the future." Aerial, "Killing in the heat of battle is one thing. This is just murder." Sky, "Let them go. We have what we came here for."(20:01:01) (PC)_Trent): "Well, if Sky says to let them go, sounds good to me.(20:01:11) (PC)_Trent): "Let's loot the rest and get out of here.(20:01:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday gives a grunt of disapproval, but doesn't argue. The Sand Raiders run and soon disappear from sight behind a building.(20:04:25) (PC)_Trent): *loots, always wary of a double cross, then continues on towards the city with the group.*(20:04:34) ((GM)_Prysus): For looting the bodies ... I'll say they'll get some new herbs for Aerial, everyone gets a few weapons upgrades (though Sky gets the best, and thereby Trent gets some decent ones too because they have the same weapon, thereby he gets hand me downs(20:04:42) ((GM)_Prysus): One moment ...(20:08:42) ((GM)_Prysus): As they loot the bodies they suddenly hear the sound of dune carts taking off. These carts are kind of like cars, but more designed for use in sandy areas. The Sand Raiders they let go are driving off and getting out of the area. Due to the sand carts there will be out of range way too fast in case there were any second thoughts about finishing them off. They appear to have come from an underground passage. In addition, from the battle, I'll give Trent a new Special Technique (I'll touch on that in IM).(20:15:30) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 3d20 and gets (12,2,19)=33.(20:17:19) (PC)_Trent): "Hmmm... I should have looked for vehicles to loot. >_< no matter. Let's go(20:18:06) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial, "Maybe they have more of them hidden somewhere."(20:18:49) (PC)_Trent): "That could be..."(20:18:52) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "Well I guess it can't hurt to at least take a look."(20:19:22) (PC)_Trent): "Okay.(20:19:32) (PC)_Trent): "I'm good at finding machines."(20:19:43) (PC)_Trent): "Also trouble." *as an afterthought*(20:20:49) ((GM)_Prysus): And Trent will realize ... he doesn't have the ability to sense machines while in the video game.(20:21:51) ((GM)_Prysus): However, if they check out the tunnel the others left from they'll find dune cart they can use ... with lots of spare fuel (if they'd even like to get their old vehicle back).(20:22:19) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Something that wouldn't have been found if they were killed. But one of those hidden rewards for sparing them.))(20:22:26) (PC)_Trent): "We can use this to get to our old vehicle and refuel it."(20:22:43) (PC)_Trent): "Sorry... i just have a soft spot for things repaired :erm "(20:23:21) ((GM)_Prysus): Well, they can even keep the Dune Cart. But it would be a replacement, and not the same as the old one. Basically it's an option, either way they'll have a vehicle again.(20:23:47) (PC)_Trent): (right. He just likes the old one because he repaired it(20:24:00) ((GM)_Prysus): ((That's fine.(20:24:19) ((GM)_Prysus): ((I didn't want a misunderstanding of saying that's all the dune cart was good for.))(20:24:30) (PC)_Trent): (right(20:26:25) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, so continue on to the Great City?(20:26:33) (PC)_Trent): *nods*(20:27:01) (PC)_Trent): (can't think of much else to do) *goes back to their old vehicle, refules it, and continues on to the city.*(20:27:57) (PC)_Trent): (er, before the city* )(20:32:48) ((GM)_Prysus): With their original vehicle fueled back up (with some spare fuel for the future) they eventually leave the sandy region of the Sand Raiders. They finally make their way across large sprawling grassy plains (likely monsters and possible loot hiding in the tall grass if they stop for any reason). After a few more random adventures, stopping sometimes for supplies or random encounters that stop even the vehicle, they make it to outskirts of the Great City. It's ... enormous. There are large sky skraypers, buildings made of metal and glass. It looks wonderfully perserved, and there are so many people. The entire world is a post apocalytpic mess, most cities barely scrapping by, technology few and far between, but this place is like a modern Terran city. The contrast to the rest of the world is simply amazing.(20:38:15) (PC)_Trent): *gives a low whistle.* "Wow... I expected this place to be a nearly deserted city preserved from the time of the ancients... but it's amazing."(20:44:39) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial, "I've always heard of this place. So many people talk about it and dream of coming here." Holiday, "It seems many have found it."(20:44:52) (PC)_Trent): "Or were born here."(20:47:00) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And how much more do you want to go through this? Not sure how long you have or how much you'd like to do, keep the story moving, have some fun, etc.))(20:49:52) (PC)_Trent): Trent would look around the city, looking for little sidequests (unless stopped by his companions), look at the goods in stores, sell the inferior loot & buy better weapons (Not that the sell/buy would have to be RPed. But maybe a few sidequests could be fun(20:49:57) (PC)_Trent): if you have any planned(20:50:53) ((GM)_Prysus): For note: I mentioned before about how they don't sell or trade the weapons.(20:51:22) (PC)_Trent): (Doh! I forgot. They upgraded >_< )(20:51:43) (PC)_Trent): *would sell and buy various loot, either armor, accessories, etc)(20:52:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Though, being such a high tech city it's possible they have different or better upgrades, or at least unique variations.(20:52:25) (PC)_Trent): *looks for cool upgrades*(20:54:30) ((GM)_Prysus): Hmm ... roll a D20.(20:55:18) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (20)=20.(20:55:26) ((GM)_Prysus):(21:03:12) ((GM)_Prysus): There are various sword upgrades. This is a high tech metropolis, and a lot of its options are quite different than those found elsewhere. Some are just different but not necessarily better, then there are some that are truly unique. One of the potential upgrades is a Psi-Enhancer, but it is important to keep in mind Lester Remington's psychic powers involve clairvoyance, not mechanics. There is another called the Scattering Burst. The damage his sword does would be reduced considerablly, but it would allow him to cast the Lightning from the Air Stone into it and have it strike out at several targets by taking it into the blade and the shooting it out. While it would do the full damage of the Lightning attack to all targets it hits, the Lightning Pulse does have different benefits. A Scattering Burst Lightning attack does it to targets around the area, but it can miss targets too. The Lightning Pulse does it to ALL enemies in its range, which is slightly increased, and has a greater affect on machine types, but less damage.(21:04:25) (PC)_Trent): "Psi-Enhancer... =p~ "(21:06:35) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And still typing ...))(21:13:26) ((GM)_Prysus): There is the Aqua Marine upgrade. It gives a slight damage increase, but its main benefits are underwater. This upgrade is used by the Great City, but can be sold to others Aqua Marines (thing Navy SEAL). Then there is the Turbo Tech upgrade. Putting it on the weapon, and then connecting it to a large machine allows him to supercharge it. The sword is effectively slide into a slot on the vehicle granting it power. It does not work on all machines, but it can work on some varying machines as well as their vehicle. It doesn't offer any benefits in basic combat, but upgrades are not always the easiest to change (you need to have someone qualified to do it, so you need to go to a shop in a town to have the weapon's smith do it for you, thereby you can't just switch all the time when convienent).(21:14:59) (PC)_Trent): "Aqua Marines or Turbo Tech..." *looks between the two techs like a kid watching a pingpong game.*(21:15:41) ((GM)_Prysus): And I think that's all the upgrades I'm going to provide, but still a good selection (mostly so nice because of the Natural 20).(21:15:48) (PC)_Trent): "On one hand... more damage and if we go underwater it could be helpful.(21:15:58) (PC)_Trent): (agreed. And I really like the two last ones(21:20:17) ((GM)_Prysus): And there are some that are just for Trent, like there are some sword upgrades that would be just for Sky.(21:20:41) (PC)_Trent): "What do you guys think?"(21:21:03) (PC)_Trent): (yes, Player knows it's players decision, and character's decision, but he likes to hear opinions(21:21:36) ((GM)_Prysus): And from this one I'll provide a Weapon's Smith opinion and points ...(21:27:07) ((GM)_Prysus): "The Aqua Marine is a bit more expensive, but it's good a standard benefit that'll work regardless of your situation. I don't know how much there is to do in the water, but for those rare times it can be great." *There won't be many missions underwater (maybe some type of side quest IF you take it), but it has the namesake and a minor damage increase.* "The Turbo Tech is a nice piece of craftsmanship, but not many can use it which lets the price go down. It doesn't provide standard benefits, but it's great for pilots (I'll give a reminder Lester is a pilot) and around machines. Main problem there is that I hear there's not a whole lot of tech outside of this city." *This one greats bonuses to anything your piloting, and occassionally grants things like damage/range boosts to weapon systems (not pilot related, but like a gun turret). It's kind of a Soup up Machines/Mechano-Link option simply by connecting his sword to the machine in question, it's just that in the post apocalyptic world there aren't a lot of machines.*(21:28:30) (PC)_Trent): *considers* "I'll take the Turbo Tech. Maybe there isn't a lot of tech outside the city... but... odds are we'll encounter what tech there is. But thank you for your advice."(21:29:32) ((GM)_Prysus): *Shifts eyes.* GM is feeling odd. Roll luck.(21:29:41) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (6)=6.(21:29:48) (PC)_Trent):(21:29:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Nothing.(21:34:28) ((GM)_Prysus): And right now I don't have a lot of ideas nor do I want to start the next part of the story. But if you'd like to do some small stuff we can.(21:34:40) (PC)_Trent): *gets the turbo tech, then looks for some smaller sidequests around*(21:36:16) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Today's sidequest kind of took me longer than I planned. Of course, that goes without saying considering I didn't really plan on it at all.(21:37:31) (PC)_Trent): (teehee)(21:37:56) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And we only have about 20 minutes before we should probably call it.))(21:38:16) (PC)_Trent): (okay. Not enough time to start anything really, so want to call it here?(21:38:21) (PC)_Trent): thanks for running *hugs*(21:38:30) ((GM)_Prysus): Thanks for playing. *Hugs.* |
