(20:30:52) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife enters the channel. (20:30:55) ChatBot: Prysus enters the channel. (20:31:02) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife is now known as (PC)_Trent). (20:44:42) ChatBot: Prysus is now known as ((GM)_Prysus). (20:45:28) ((GM)_Prysus): Ready?
(20:45:48) (PC)_Trent): Yep
(20:51:09) ((GM)_Prysus): Last game the group, upon Sky's decision, has decided to help the friend of Nanato and help take down the Great City, or at least a part of it. The plans are already set, and it will be time to make their move soon. Nanato has traveled with the group as far as he'll go for now, but they can come back and meet him after. Sky (to Nanato), "Sure you don't want to come with us? I bet you still have some days left in you." Nanato shakes his head, "I am old, my vision fading, and that display back in the city drained my reserves for days to come. This is a job for the young, and I believe it is in good hands." (20:53:36) (PC)_Trent): oO(That and the programmers were too lazy to make him as an NPC fighter outside of cutscenes.) (20:55:34) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Teehee. Either that or
they thought he'd be too unbalancing and overshadow the more interesting NPC.
(20:56:42) (PC)_Trent): (teeehee) (20:56:56) (PC)_Trent): *is quite happy with his new Sword.* :X (20:57:07) (PC)_Trent): (or rather, newly upgraded sword* ) (20:59:49) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial, "If we're attacking
the city, and the Aqua Marines think we're terrorists, how can we fight them?
Aren't they ... just doing their jobs? Trying to save the people from the city
from bad people?
(21:01:05) (PC)_Trent): *smiles at Aerial.* "I know, it's really hard to fight those who are only trying to protect others, that don't know they're wrong." (21:01:26) (PC)_Trent): oO(I faced that with Black Shell. >_< Civil wars aren't. ) (21:06:45) ((GM)_Prysus): And, unless there was more to talk about, we can fast forward through part of the early parts of the battle (going through just a couple of fights on their way to complete their mission). Though if you'd like to talk more, do something before, see some of the early battles (probably not that interesting really, but just because I don't think it would be interesting doesn't mean you can't). (21:07:40) (PC)_Trent): ( we can FF the beginning of it, i can't think of anything in particular. :-? ) (21:08:04) (PC)_Trent): *will of course search the
area ^_^ <_< >_> For goodies
(21:11:48) ((GM)_Prysus): And when you say "the beginning" do you mean the first couple of battles (which are mostly opponents they've fought before), or focusing more on the main/special battles? (21:12:58) (PC)_Trent): (first couple of battles) (21:13:56) (PC)_Trent): (we can sum up the more easy
battles and go into the main/special or any unique battles. Trent will be
raising his Special Technique and saving it for the boss
(21:15:38) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, just to be sure I'm clear ... First couple of battles (easy), sum up of other easy battles, main/special/unique battles (with sum up in between the big ones)? (21:17:19) (PC)_Trent): (um, no. Fast forward the first battles which are easy/what they fought before. Play out anything that is special, main, or unique (such as unique monsters for this level/area) and then go to the main boss.) (21:17:56) (PC)_Trent): (but not FF the main/special
unique battles
(21:18:14) ((GM)_Prysus): ((OH!!! I misread. The first
time I thought you said "we can FF to the beginning ..." Stupid me
misreading.
(21:18:52) (PC)_Trent): (teehee) (21:20:06) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, typing ... (21:29:11) ((GM)_Prysus): In the distance the attack on the city begins. This is their distraction, pulling out a majority of the Aqua Marines and other city defenses making it easier for Sky and the others. The group starts to head through the building where Nanato once snuck into (flashback). It looks much the same, though they didn't see the full details of the building (as the flashback skipped to the main parts, and they have to go through everything). They get into several battles that are rather small, facing groups of Aqua Marines and various other attack drones (like they fought when they were escaping the city), none in endless supplies though (bulk of their forces elsewhere). They're making their way through the building in good time. They reach a large circular elevator that goes up to some of the higher levels. (21:29:13) ((GM)_Prysus): As the elevator doors close they start to ascend, and parts of the walls open up! Exiting from the concealed compartments are 6 robots, all of the same make and model as Esvrym2. They are more humanoid in appearance though, with subtle differences to make them different than him (NPC always looks special). Stuck inside a moving elevator there is no chance to run or escape. (21:32:15) ((GM)_Prysus): And hmm ... guess roll initiative (I was thinking it, but forgot to type it). (21:32:26) (PC)_Trent): *draws his sword, waits for the battle music, and is ready with the air stone* (21:32:52) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (1)+1=2. (21:33:01) (PC)_Trent): (wasn't sure if you were
typing or not
(21:33:43) ((GM)_Prysus): *Nods.* That's fine. It was
my fault for not saying it earlier.
(21:34:30) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Enemy Robots ... (21:34:34) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (2,3,20,6)=31. (21:39:22) ((GM)_Prysus): Commands (from player) set Aerial into defense as a primary and heal mode as a secondary. Her priorities will probably be switched if the group starts taking lots of damage, but her herbs (her specialty) won't be of much use against robots, and her physical attacks aren't very notable so it's best to just keep her healthy under the circumstances. Evrym2 is locked into permanent defense mode of Trent and Aerial, with himself as a secondary. That option can't be changed by the player due to the programming priorities. (21:40:41) ((GM)_Prysus): Everyone else is set to attack mode, with Trent's (suggestions) being to naturally use his Special Technique, which with the sword upgrade from Nanato it has built up fairly quickly. (21:41:29) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Note: It won't build up in a single battle, not unless it's an extremely long one like the hundreds of Sand Raiders.)) (21:42:11) (PC)_Trent): "If I use my special technique, will it build up for the boss? >_< " (21:42:47) (PC)_Trent): <Alright, fine. I'll go with the player on this one.> (21:43:23) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Note: You'd have to consider this to the mid-boss type of level.)) (21:43:36) (PC)_Trent): (ah! okay) (21:44:31) ((GM)_Prysus): It's not completely unheard of for their to be a boss directly after (like "bosses elite guards" followed by the "boss" depending on the level though, which could always mean "mid-bosses elite guards" followed by "mid-boss" though this is more rare). (21:46:09) ((GM)_Prysus): If you can follow what I
mean. As for a player strategy: If there is a "elite guard" followed by an
actual boss, Trent's (at least one of his) Special Techniques is useful against
robots and area affect, but the boss would always be a single person. Just
giving a better lay-out of the overall game, to give player a better feel.
(21:46:42) (PC)_Trent): (Okay.
(21:47:51) ((GM)_Prysus): And hmm ... oh, right! IT's
their move.
(21:49:18) ((GM)_Prysus): The six robots will make their move. Two of them will attack Sky (she tends to get most of the Aggro)and one will attack each of the rest, including Evrym2. (21:49:23) ((GM)_Prysus): Robot vs. Trent ... (21:49:30) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (16)+6=22. (21:50:29) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) logs out of the Chat. (21:50:45) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife enters the channel. (21:50:51) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife is now known as (PC)_Trent). (21:51:23) (PC)_Trent): *brings up his blade to parry* (21:51:29) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (2)+11=13. (21:53:34) ((GM)_Prysus): Esvrym2 Defense (Trent) ... (21:53:41) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (18)+9=27. (21:53:59) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing ... (21:54:08) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Then it will be player's action.)) (21:54:17) ((GM)_Prysus): Erm ... (21:54:41) ((GM)_Prysus): 5 Robot attack, Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Evrym2 (last four are defense) ... (21:54:43) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (14,15,15,4,6)=54. (22:02:57) ((GM)_Prysus): One of the robots attacks Trent quick. They have large cleaver-like blades attached to side of their forearms for slashing into enemies. The robots are definitely fast. Too fast! Trent isn't going to be able to get out of the way in time. Before it connects Evrym2 moves in front of Trent. Three long dagger-like blades ejects from his forearm, extending over the hand but still attached to the forearm itself. With great skill he deflects the attak off to the side. Before he can recover from that move though a second of the enemy robots hits Evrym with a good slash knocking him off to the side. With Evrym2 out of the way another attacks Aerial without interception. She's decent at defense, but there is little room for her to fly (where she gets her best bonuses for dodging) in the elevator and these particular robot models are actually quite skilled. Sky dodges a paired attack by jumping over them and landing. As she lands the paired attackers make a second swipe, but Sky deftly puts her sword behind her back parrying both. (22:05:20) (PC)_Trent): *is enraged, his friend and robot being attacked. Unleashes is Area of Effect special attack, blasting all the enemy robots in an inferno of lightning* (22:07:19) ((GM)_Prysus): And it's going to strike, but it may not disable them all (these are pretty special robots). I'm going to say roll %. 10% chance per robot. So if you roll 60 or below it's only one robot. If you roll 10 or under it's all six of them. (22:07:34) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d100 and gets (68)=68. (22:07:43) (PC)_Trent): (
(22:08:02) ((GM)_Prysus): ((It's okay. They're meant to be very resistant.)) (22:10:57) ((GM)_Prysus): The Lightning Pulse stretches out in all directions hitting all six of the robots in a single attack. However, it seems they have systems that let them absorb the excess electricity in their systems to prevent serious system failures (like a full body Surge Protector, though most of the other robots don't have it). (22:12:07) ((GM)_Prysus): On the plus side, it did damage all six, and by using it as his first move that means he'll be able to build it up during the battle. (22:13:00) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky and Holiday attacks, then the Robot Defenses for both ... (22:13:03) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 4d20 and gets (2,16,13,3)=34. (22:17:43) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky goes to attack, but both are able to dodge. It's not just the defense power of one, but they're able to help defend each other making their defenses hard to crack. Meanwhile, they seem fairly succeptable to ranged attacks as Holiday connects with a few well placed shots (one attack, it just happens to be more than one shot sometimes for visuals). (22:19:18) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, Trent will be
attacked once again.
(22:20:27) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (18)+6=24. (22:21:12) (PC)_Trent): *does a rolling dodge/strike, trying to dodge out of the way and then building up to his next attack, a brutal strike with his sword.* (22:21:28) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (4)+8=12. (22:21:47) ((GM)_Prysus): Esvrym2 ... (22:21:49) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (17)+8=25. (22:21:53) (PC)_Trent): (first to dodge, then to strike) (22:21:57) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (2)+9=11. (22:24:48) ((GM)_Prysus): And Trent is so hit.
(22:25:05) (PC)_Trent): (sure.) (22:26:44) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, Robot Defense (Trent), Robots, Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Esvrym2 (and if Aerial fails hers I'll need to roll another for him) ... (22:26:53) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 6d20 and gets (1,8,15,13,14,13)=64. (22:32:08) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent lands a critical (double damage, not lethal) damage on his opponent, and none of the others are hit. Aerial uses a minor healing herb on herself. It doesn't put her at full health, but close (she got hit first round). Even though they're in a closed off elevator Holiday appears quite skilled at keeping his distance and using his range to take advantage of them. Sky comes down with a strike, and both robots block in unison to parry her attack. She turns and uses the blade to come under their arms and knock them into the air as she leaps up. With a turn of her body she comes down slashing into one of their chests, then quickly into the other before either can recover. ((For knocking their blades away, imagine more of a jumping/turning upper cut type of move, but using her sword to knock their arms out of the way, then comes down into two quick slashes.)) (22:34:02) ((GM)_Prysus): And I guess the next move would be the attack on Trent. (22:34:14) (PC)_Trent): *attempst simply to parry* (22:34:17) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (15)+11=26. (22:34:21) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (11)+6=17. (22:36:07) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent is able to parry. (22:36:16) ((GM)_Prysus): His move (and I'll do the mass roll for the others) ... (22:36:48) (PC)_Trent): *attacks with a lightning blast (just the main feature of the air stone, not an special technique) on the opponent that slashed at him* (22:36:50) ((GM)_Prysus): Robots, Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Evrym (and possibly the follow up if Aerial fails) ... (22:36:53) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (18,14,5,4,2)=43. (22:37:43) ((GM)_Prysus): And the defense (for Trent) ... (22:37:51) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (11)+8=19. (22:38:46) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (16)+5=21. (22:39:32) ((GM)_Prysus): Roll % (always a chance). (22:42:52) ((GM)_Prysus): Please roll %? (22:44:00) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d100 and gets (49)=49. (22:44:24) (PC)_Trent): (sorry, got momentarily distracted ) (22:44:38) ((GM)_Prysus): ((It's okay.)) (22:44:55) ((GM)_Prysus): And no, that isn't low
enough to disable one, but I wanted to be sure (didn't want to rule out the
possibility).
(22:46:14) ((GM)_Prysus): It strikes and does considerable damage (even if not disabling, it's still a powerful attack against robot types). (22:48:17) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, the robot will attack Trent again ... (22:48:20) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (8)+6=14. (22:48:44) ((GM)_Prysus): Bulk rolls for the others (Robots, Sky, Holiday, Aerial, Evrym2) ... (22:48:46) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (18,8,8,5,13)=52. (22:50:44) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And Trent can try to take defense?)) (22:51:00) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (12)+11=23. (22:51:01) (PC)_Trent): (parry) (22:51:07) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (1)+8=9. (22:51:11) (PC)_Trent): (his next attack) (22:51:50) ((GM)_Prysus): Let's see if Evrym2 can defend for Trent ... doH! And Aerial (I've been forgetting his second roll for her for a while now) ... (22:51:54) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (3,1)=4. (22:51:59) ((GM)_Prysus): Nope! (22:52:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Evrym2 is apparently an older model, and just out of his league with these upgraded versions. (22:53:23) ((GM)_Prysus): Oh! Wait ... I just noticed
the 1 was Trent's strike, not his defense.
(22:53:49) ((GM)_Prysus): I'm going to roll for luck ... (22:53:51) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (19)=19. (22:56:28) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial has her group heal Special Technique available, because it looks like they will be needing it. The teamwork and fighting styles of the robots are fairly tough for the group. Not only are they competent fighters as individuals, but they appear to be able to link with each other allowing nearly flawless movement and attack patterns with precision timing. On the plus side the group (except for Evrym2) can be healed by Aerial making it possible for them to last a lot longer as they slowly whittle down the robots. (22:57:50) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, Trent will be attacked again. (22:57:53) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (14)+6=20. (22:58:53) (PC)_Trent): *attempts to defend* (22:58:57) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (1)+11=12. (22:59:04) ((GM)_Prysus): Evrym2 ... (22:59:05) (PC)_Trent): (
(22:59:08) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (11)+8=19. (22:59:17) ((GM)_Prysus): Actually ... he's +9. (22:59:23) (PC)_Trent): "I... am SOOoooo glad I repaired you." (22:59:28) ((GM)_Prysus): So that's a successful defense for Trent ... but just barely. (22:59:48) ((GM)_Prysus): Others (same order) ... (22:59:50) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (17,12,17,4,17)=67. (22:59:59) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (6)=6. (23:00:07) (PC)_Trent): "Seriously, you are saving my arse, Evrym2." (23:00:26) ((GM)_Prysus): And Trent has a move.
(23:00:44) (PC)_Trent): *attacks!* (23:00:50) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (20)+8=28. (23:00:56) (PC)_Trent): (
(23:31:52) ((GM)_Prysus): As Evrym2 parries for Trent is able to quickly thrust forward with his sword and runs the robot through. The damage inflicted now, along with the damage dealt to it earlier are enough to finally finish off the robot. This has been a war of attrition, but one that is starting to look in their favor. They continue to fight through. The robots are definitely good, and if it wasn't for the sheer endrance of the group and the heals they'd have likely lost this one. These robots are not to be underestimated, not ever. Sky parries one, then is slashsed in the side by the other. Meanwhile, Evrym2 parries the one trying to attack him, but the constant pressure is making it impossible for him to try and help Aerial as she gets attacked again. Unable to protect her appears to be causing a conflict in his programming. Sky parries one of her attackers. (23:32:47) ((GM)_Prysus): The force from the attack
causes her to slide back into the wall. "Evrym2, if you want to protect,
sometimes you have to fight back. Simply playing defense is not enough. If
that's all you do then you're doomed to fail. If someone constantly attacks
they're going to eventually get through. No one is perfect." (23:33:31) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday moves and aims. One of his special guns, one he rarely uses, locks back as if preparing. When he fires it slams into one of the robots attacking Sky. It impacts with tremendous force, slamming it into her other attack. Both spiral off into the wall and explode. Sky answers Evrym2, "That's right. You have a choice too." Evrym2 suddenly pushes off of the robot that is attacking him and rushes to Aerial. He grabs the robot attacking her and slams it to the ground. The one that was fighting Evrym2 starts to rush to attack his back. Before it can reach him though a blast of lightning slams into knocking it to the ground and forcing it to deactivate. As Trent said earlier, Evrym2 had saved Trent more than once, and now it was Trent's turn to return the favor, using his Air Stone just in time to take out the other. Evrym2 uses his forearm claws to run through other robot, stabbing it over and over again until it stops moving. (23:33:42) ((GM)_Prysus): The final robot is finally
closing in on Holiday when Sky suddenly swoops in and takes its head clean off
with her sword. Its robotic head hits the ground and bounces over towards the
elevator door that finally opens. Holiday looks, "Well, that's convenient
timing." (23:33:51) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Done.)) (23:34:48) (PC)_Trent): *says the prompted/scripted words* (23:36:56) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, next big match up?
OR did you want to call it here and do it all next game? I just know I want you
happy.
(23:37:17) (PC)_Trent): :-? (23:37:27) (PC)_Trent): Might be best to call it here,
I'm a little out of it today.
(23:37:31) (PC)_Trent): thanks for running *hugs* (23:37:41) ((GM)_Prysus): Thanks for playing. *Hugs.* (23:37:42) (PC)_Trent): and can you save this one?
(23:37:48) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay.
