(11:47:07) ChatBot: Prysus is now known as ((GM)_Prysus).(11:47:22) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife is now known as (PC)_Trent).(11:53:40) ((GM)_Prysus): All right, as we last left Sky and the rest of the group were making their way through the central building of the Great City. They have made it through the elevators, but only the first one had the Evrym2 model attack robots, though one or two have still shown up in various other attack groups (unlocked the enemy type, now it appears more often, but in small numbers). However, everytime they enter onto one of the bridges to cross to an adjacent building they have to deal with the Para-Trooperes and Flying Drones. They have finally made it up to the top floor of their destination. Somewhere on this floor is the head to the Great City, the person who may hold answers to what is going on here. And, if they're lucky, there will be answers about Beta here as well. The files of the Beta Project were wiped clean from the lower levels and the labs, but here on the Alpha Floor there are several back-ups in the main computer hub. There is still a chance they can find something. ((Still typing ...))(11:57:51) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, Holiday, Trent, and Evrym2 wait outside two grand doors. Meanwhile, Aerial has gone on a scouting missiong outside the building. According to the plans Trent found there is a sky window on the roof to let sunlight through, but that also means she can see through it from the sky to gauge any enemy fortifications. If there is a spot to do it, the next room is it. Holiday: "I don't like sending her off alone like that. Too many things could go wrong." Evrym2: "I agree. I can't follow my primary programming when she's in flight."(11:57:59) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And done, for now.))(11:59:02) (PC)_Trent): "I'm worried too, but unless we can find a jet pack from the enemies... we can't keep up with her in flight mode. >_< "(12:00:17) (PC)_Trent): *inspects the door*(12:00:19) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday, "Oh, finding the jet pack isn't a problem. It's taking the person wearing it down without destroying it that's hard."(12:00:40) (PC)_Trent): "Er, yeah, that's what I meant."(12:03:08) ((GM)_Prysus): The doors themselves are fairly simple. Reinforced, but still easy to open without any real complex systems behind it. It can probably take a few blasts, but it's not really meant to keep people out. After all, this is closer to a business building than a fortress. People are their business, and people need to be able to enter if they are to succeed.(12:03:30) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And we can fast forward to Aerial returning when player is ready. I was just giving a small role-playing opportunity, that's all.(12:05:04) (PC)_Trent): *gives a pat on Evrym2's shoulder* "Don't worry, she'll return saftely."(12:06:20) ((GM)_Prysus): Evrym2: "But what if she doesn't? I would have failed in my primary programming. Perhaps that is why I was discarded in the first place."(12:10:40) (PC)_Trent): *flinches, pulling hand away, and tone and face turn unusually dark and broody. Not a tone that Trent typically has in this world.* "No... ... look, sometimes, even if you succeed in your mission, one can get discarded because he's no longer needed, the mission is over so there is no longer a point. But I promise you, Evrym 2... I won't discard you. You can stay with me as long as long as I'm able to be in this universe, and I'll never forget you afterwards, failing or succeeding in your mission."(12:14:54) ((GM)_Prysus): Evrym2: "Thank you. I will do my best to carry out my primary programming so that you can be in this universe for as long as possible."(12:17:14) (PC)_Trent): "you're welcome.(12:17:25) (PC)_Trent): "And... I appreciate it. I kind of like this universe.(12:19:29) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "And that's why we're all really here, isn't it? Because if we don't do something, Beta will destroy everything in it."(12:19:57) (PC)_Trent): "Exactly!" *agrees with her.* "There are some things worth fighting for.(12:22:52) (PC)_Trent): (and can FF to when Aerial arrives(12:24:13) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial returns through a nearby window, swooping in and landing on the floor. She walks over to them, "Trent, could you please bring up the floor plans on the terminal?" ((And yes, I'll say there is a terminal nearby.))(12:25:28) (PC)_Trent): "Certainly." *brings it up.* "I'm glad you're saftely back.(12:25:40) (PC)_Trent): "Evrym2 was worried."(12:25:56) (PC)_Trent): "Well, we all were, but I had every confidence you'd return(12:28:19) ((GM)_Prysus): *Aerial she smiles.* "That was very sweet of you Evrym2.(12:30:38) (PC)_Trent): "Those turrets could be a problem." *thoughtfully*(12:35:04) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "If we attack with range from the doorway, we could try to take them out one at a time." ((Player strategy.)) Holiday, "That could work. Due to angles of their placements only a few could attack us at a time." Sky, "That means Holiday, Trent, and myself will be doing the attacking. Aerial, you did good work scouting. You've earned yourself a break. Evrym2, make sure to keep her safe." ((Player strategy: Holiday will open the door (primary). Sky and Trent will attack the furthest turrets, opposite sides so both won't be fighting the same opponent using Air and Fire Stones. Holiday (secondary) will attack if one misses, otherwise he just gets out of the way to avoid being attacked himself.* ((Though, from there, I'll let player add anything if he wants. As a GM I'll also add the turret battle isn't that big of a deal, if you want to skip the rolls overall and just kind of move to the point they finish.))(12:35:17) ((GM)_Prysus): ((The turret battle is a bit tedius.(12:37:35) (PC)_Trent): "Okay, that sounds like a solid plan. However... the turrets have a longer range than we do. Is there any cover we can take?"(12:38:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "They can only attack what they see. We stand back, and only move into range of the two furthest. If we attack fast enough we might be able to take them out before they can attack. The walls will be our cover from the rest."(12:39:54) (PC)_Trent): "Okay. let's try it then."(12:40:08) (PC)_Trent): *pulls out the stone, and intends to aim blasts at the turrets*(12:40:56) ((GM)_Prysus): For note, you're really targeting the person manning the turret (because the turrets are tough, but those manning it are squishy(12:41:19) (PC)_Trent): (ah, okay)(12:41:37) (PC)_Trent): (i figured with Air stone/electricity it might be the other way around, turrets being more vulnerable(12:42:43) ((GM)_Prysus): Ah, okay. Good point. Though the turrets are more heavily armored (higher SDC, no special protection). And true, it is possible. I hadn't actually thought about that point.(12:43:24) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And roll it out or skip through it?))(12:43:50) (PC)_Trent): :-? skip through it. But Trent will try to take at least one shot with the turret to short them out.(12:44:09) ((GM)_Prysus): Roll %.(12:44:23) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d100 and gets (21)=21.(12:45:26) ((GM)_Prysus): He can short them out. Though the lightning blast will take out the shooter just as easily (basically either can really work). Sky, for obvious reasons, is going to be taking out the shooter (because taking the turret won't work for her at all).(12:49:10) (PC)_Trent): *goes through the turrets.* oO(In the real world, I might split up if we had two objectives. But here... it's better to stick together as much as possible and go through them in order.) "Do we go after the computers first or the leader first?"(12:49:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing ...(12:52:18) ((GM)_Prysus): Very slowly and methodically they're able to take out all 10 with no, or relatively few, hits (unless someone messes up, but trust me the turret fire is not something you want to take!). It's lucky because their fire power, more so than their range, is what a player really needs to watch out for. Each hit takes off a considerable amount of life and the force from a turret can knockdown a character, and if lots of them are firing quickly reduce even a high level character's life to nothing. However, due to game mechanics, the turrets can't fire through the walls or the doors. After they're taken out the group enters in through the doors for the first time. As they do Trent asks his question (above) and a game triggered event occurs. Entering into the room seems to have activated the next group of enemies, which would be all the more troublesome if the turrets were still active. This room, if rushed into, could have very easily wiped out the strongest characters unless the player is extremely good or extraordinarly lucky.(12:52:22) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Still typing ...))(12:58:32) ((GM)_Prysus): Coming in through another room (not one of those Aerial mentioned) are a squad of Aqua Marines. One of them is the Leader from their battle in the city, before Nanato showed up. Leader (to Sky), "I told you this wasn't be over." As the Aqua Marines move Holiday speaks to the group, "They're speading out. It looks like they're trying to secure an escape route for the head and take out the computer hub at the same time!" More Aqua Marines continue to come in through the door. It looks like they're very quickly going to be overwhelmed with sheer numbers. Mission Objective: Stop them from letting the city head escape or protect the computer hub. Both can be attempted, but it is extremely difficult because there are a lot more enemy than there are character to stop them. Time Limit: They need to hold off the enemy for 10 minutes.(13:00:30) (PC)_Trent): *waits for the player's idea before saying yay or nay, hoping the player will protect the computer first.*(13:05:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Player strategy: Holiday is ordered to guard the door for the city head. Aerial and Evrym2 ordered to guard the door to the computer hub. Sky, as player controlled character, is going to try and hold off as many as possilbe, thinning numbers before they get to either. As for Trent, he gets directed to one of the turrets above. Holiday and Trent are really the only two who could operate the turrets (due to skills). Holiday is an expert in all types of guns, but Trent has the Turbo Tech and by leaving Holiday on defense he can also fire at those attacking Aerial/Evrym2 due to his ranged attacks.(13:05:23) (PC)_Trent): (brb, parents just returned with grocieries)(13:05:23) ((GM)_Prysus): ((BRB.))(13:07:14) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Returned. And wow that was odd timing. Same second.(13:13:51) (PC)_Trent): (returned)(13:14:03) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Welcome back.(13:14:37) (PC)_Trent): *uses Turbo Tech on the turret and attempts to thin out the enemies!*(13:15:04) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent will have to make it there first (so they'll have to hold the enemy off while Trent gets there).(13:15:40) (PC)_Trent): *sprints for it!*(13:15:59) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, I'm going to suggest Trent roll luck. Meanwhile I'm going to make rolls for the others.(13:16:43) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marine 1, Sky, Aqua Marine 2, Holiday, Aqua Marine 3, Aerial/Evrym2 ...(13:16:45) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (2)=2.(13:16:46) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 6d20 and gets (8,18,3,5,7,17)=58.(13:17:14) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, typing!(13:33:19) ((GM)_Prysus): As the Aqua Marines continue to come into the room Sky shoots a large fireball straight into the heart of them. As the flames clear she is already on top of them cutting into their ranks. Aerial and Evrym2 are able to get to the doors they need to guard relatively quickly as it is close-by. Some Aqua Marines almost reach the door to the city's head when they are shot down by a Holiday who still needed to reach it. Being on the ground level it's not too hard. Trent, on the other hand, has to get across the room, up a flight of stairs, and over a walkway to reach the turrets. It's a decent run, and even more troubling is that there are a number of Aqua Marines moving to cut him off. They're clearly not stupid and don't intend to let him get through easily. Below it looks like Holiday is getting swarmed, but for the time being he's holding them off. If he has to hold up against that type of level of attack for long though he's likely going to be overwhelmed soon.(13:33:36) ((GM)_Prysus): Meanwhile, those that get through Sky towards the computer hub are quickly cut down by Evrym2 whose skill appears to just be easily superior to theirs. The power of Evrym2 appears to be on the higher end of the group right now, though his skill appears a bit more static, and not as likely to increase as the group does making him strong now but perhaps weaker at later points in the game (he's not completely static, but very slow at leveling). While Sky battles the heart of the Aqua Marine force the Leader attacks her. She quickly moves out of the way of the attack as it slams into the ground next to her. Her sword swings up in an uppercut type motion retaliating and slashing into the Leader. Then she quickly spins and cuts down another Aqua Marine.(13:33:38) ((GM)_Prysus): Every 15 seconds more Aqua Marines appear to enter into the room helping to replace those that fall, and it's probably going to take Trent another 15 seconds to reach the turrets (30 seconds total, but 30 seconds out of 10 minutes isn't too bad), that is if he can get there without interruption. Two Aqua Marines move in front of Trent, blocking off his path on the stairs. Three more suddenly move in behind him surrounding him with five enemies that have him flanked. Suddenly a sword streaks across the room and slices two of those behind Trent in half. Sky appears a second later with amazing speed (she is a cheetah), grabbing hold of the handle and coming down on the other one behind Trent. She quickly moves back to trying to take out the bulk of the forces, but has helped thin out the numbers on Trent to just the two in front of him (for now). ((Yes, that was one of her special techniques, but she rolled a critical so I figured it was fitting.))(13:33:43) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Done.))(13:36:33) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Note: Had you rolled high on your luck you would have had less trouble getting there. With a 2 there is heavier resistance.))(13:36:52) (PC)_Trent): (right, that makes sense(13:40:13) (PC)_Trent): *launches his attack into one of the marines in front of him.* "Is there any way to seal off their reinforcements? Closing the door or lighting it on fire?" *attacks the one on the left, and as he attacks is moving around in a circle flank, trying more to push him off (think classic stance where one attacks, the other parries, the attacker pushes against and pushes the other back a bit, then they break apart, only in this case Trent is going to try to go around him while attacking)(13:42:10) ((GM)_Prysus): ((As a GM: No way to block off the door. There's a reason you have to hold them off for 10 minutes.(13:44:40) ((GM)_Prysus): And, for the record, Trent should have his Special Technique available (with the upgrade and the fact he'd save it for bosses he probably has one).(13:44:57) ((GM)_Prysus): Roll a generic attack/defense roll Trent.(13:45:12) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marines 4 (Trent) ...(13:45:14) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (7)=7.(13:45:19) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (2)=2.(13:48:06) ((GM)_Prysus): The Aqua Marines are still a force to be reckoned with. Their strength comes from numbers, but they're still tough as individuals. Trent may be able to take on one of them, but every time he moves in to attack one he quickly gets hit by the other. For now they are still able to hold him off from the stairs headed up. ((I'll have rerolls for every 15 seconds, at least some of which will be movement, so if no one gets defeated figure that's just positioning and such.))(13:48:41) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marine 1, Sky, Aqua Marine 2, Holiday, Aqua Marine 3, Aerial/Evrym2, Aqua Marine 4 ...(13:48:46) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 7d20 and gets (20,3,3,19,13,19,11)=88.(13:49:11) ((GM)_Prysus): 4 will always be for Trent.(13:49:25) (PC)_Trent): (okay(13:51:07) ((GM)_Prysus): And Trent, roll luck as well to see if he gets more reinforcements on him or he's left alone. 8 or higher and he's left alone as long as there is 1 Aqua Marine fighting him. A 14 or higher to be left alone if there are no enemy with him.(13:51:18) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (6)=6.(13:51:28) (PC)_Trent): ((13:51:39) ((GM)_Prysus): Don't worry, your allies have had criticals.(13:52:18) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And I'll take that as your luck. You'll still need your attack/defense roll.(13:52:29) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (13)=13.(13:52:33) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing ...(14:05:28) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky fights the bulk of their forces. Sky cuts one down, then avoids an attack from the Leader. As she does another Aqua Marine hits her in the back. It doesn't do much, but stuns her for a moment setting her up for a follow up move from Leader which sends her down to the ground! The enemy she was holding off move in on her while she's down. At the same time new reinforcements start to come into the room making their move towards the others. Trent is able to push one off and then cut down the other making it a 1 on 1. However, there are more coming his way!(14:05:47) ((GM)_Prysus): Others starts to swarm in on Holiday. He suddenly pulls out both guns and lets loose a flurry of blasts across the entire group quickly thinning out their numbers (his technique which is basically like firing a machine gun into a group, only he does it with two pistols because he's that fast). As one of the Aqua Marines is about to come down on Sky they are suddenly taken out by a shot from Holiday. Sky is able to get up to her feet and avoid another, but is then hit againt by Leader. She's taking a fair beating, but at least now she's back on her feet.(14:06:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Meanwhile, more Aqua Marines start moving in on Evrym2 and Aerial. Evrym2 quickly starts to cut into their numbers with amazing speed and skill, making the Aqua Marines look like child's play in comparison. When he was merely staying to defense (in the elevator) he seemed to struggle a lot more. It's important to remember though, he was an attack robot. His best type of defense is attacking an enemy before they can do harm.(14:06:05) ((GM)_Prysus): 3 more Aqua Marines are heading in to move behind Trent. They're almost to the stairs when panels on the back of Evrym2 open up to reveal speed/jump boosters (special technique) and he dashes forward with incredible speed and force. The three dagger-like swords are extended from his arms. He moves passsed and cuts two down, one on each side, as he passes them by. The third is straight ahead. He quickly grabs the third and impales him on the claws. Finally the booster brings Evrym2. From the force and momentum the Aqua Marine goes flying off the blades and hits the ground motionless. Evrym2 quickly returns to keep guard over Aerial.(14:06:14) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Done for now.))(14:08:10) (PC)_Trent): "Woah... nice one, Evrym2!"(14:08:35) (PC)_Trent): *sprints for the turret, finding his way less blocked, impressed by his allies.*(14:10:02) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, Trent will need to still try and beat the other one with him, though he'll be able to move and fight much better now (unless the Aqua Marine rolls considerablly better than him). That means he won't be at full speed, but he'll be making progress as opposed to hedl in place.(14:10:28) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Evrym2 and Holiday both rolled 19s for note.))(14:10:46) (PC)_Trent): *attempts to move and fight*(14:10:49) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (11)=11.(14:10:55) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent needs to roll luck, and his general attack/defense roll. Meanwhile, I'll roll for the others (same order).(14:10:58) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 7d20 and gets (18,20,6,11,10,15,6)=86.(14:11:06) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (19)=19.(14:11:18) (PC)_Trent): (first luck, second general attack/defence as usual)(14:11:30) ((GM)_Prysus): Right, that's the way I was giving it to you.(14:23:48) ((GM)_Prysus): 9 minutes and 15 seconds remaning. The next wave of Aqua Marines charge start to head into the room. Both swords of Sky and Leader clash, move and clash again in an amazing display of skill and speed. Sky gets an edge for a moment, and instead of fighting the Leader she takes out two Aqua Marines, then their blades lock up again. The force from their impact sends both moving back. Like their fight in the city last time, they have seen how much tougher Leader gets with time. This time seems no different. With their distance Sky tries to cut down a few more. Quickly Leader is on top of her again to stop her, but the damage she's inflicted is already done. More forces move in on Holiday and on Evrym2, but right now both are holding off the forces well enough. However, they can only hold this up for so long before the numbers are simply too much for even the best of fighters.(14:23:51) ((GM)_Prysus): This wave of Aqua Marines appear to be focusing on the two rooms and have overlooked Trent's approach to the turrets leaving it a one on one. With half the resistance eliminated, Trent finds the remaining Aqua Marine far easier, quickly cutting into him and finishing him off as he goes falling off the walkway (there is a walkway to the turrets, as mentioned above, with movement they've made it from the stairs to the walkway). There's going to be nothing left standing in his way, but he's not to the turret yet. Depending on how things go, some Aqua Marines could make it to the stairway. If they do, Trent will have trouble defeating them as long as he's manning the turret. Sky and Leader continue to battle. Though this isn't the final boss of the game, it definitely is an amazing battle to watch. Leader is quite clearly a skilled warrior, but despite that fact Sky is still better.(14:24:00) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Done for now.))(14:24:47) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent will need to roll luck, but not combat (because there are no enemies to give him a threat right now).(14:24:59) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (3)=3.(14:25:08) ((GM)_Prysus): Meanwhile, same order as always (except the last roll won't be for Trent right now) ...(14:25:12) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 6d20 and gets (8,18,4,10,6,8)=54.(14:26:00) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing ..(14:35:51) ((GM)_Prysus): 9 minutes remaining. The next wave of Aqua Marines make it into the room. Holiday is still holding well. With his ranged attacks it's easier for him to take less damage by taking them out before they can attack him. However, it looks like the waves are starting to take their toll on Evrym2, who while holding out is starting to take more damage. A group of Aqua Marines are making it to the stairway. They're going to get there before Trent can do anything about it. Sky knocks down Leader and then leaps up and lands with a flip in the air in front of the Aqua Marines heading for the stairs. She quickly takes two of them out, and it looks like she's going to hold her ground making sure the others don't get passed her. Leader comes at her. With skill and style she parries and then cuts down another Aqua Marine.(14:35:57) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent gets control of the turret. His primary attack commands (from player) are to stop the waves of Aqua Marines coming in. By a barrage of fire at their entrance (they always come from the same place) he should be able to take them all out, or at least most of them letting only a few stragglers get through at best. This will leave the others to still fight off those attacking them, but once they're defeated they shouldn't have to worry about more reinforcements. Trent could, theorotically, try to help take out those attacking his friends in between (they only show up every 15 seconds, so there is time inbetween with good timing). But with a weapon like the turret it's possible he'll hit them, at least in blast radius/area effect (it's not a wide effect, but the beams from the turrets aren't precision weapons, they're power weapons meant to hold off assaults).(14:38:17) (PC)_Trent): "That's what I was thinking. Okay, I'll stop the waves." *aims for the enemies coming in so as to avoid hitting his allies*(14:38:30) (PC)_Trent): (and luck + attack?)(14:39:01) ((GM)_Prysus): No need for luck anymore unless his allies get overwhelmed on their rolls, or Trent rolls poorly on his attack of the entrance.(14:39:18) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky is defending the stairs, so no one should get through unless she messes up.(14:39:25) ((GM)_Prysus): But attack is nice.(14:40:52) ((GM)_Prysus): Rules: The door is a fixed spot. So all Trent needs to do is successfully strike, 12 or higher plus any bonuses such as those gained from Turbo Tech, Weapons Systems, and any other he may have. 12 or higher means he stopped them all. The lower the total strike the more that got through.(14:41:37) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (15)=15.(14:41:45) (PC)_Trent): (not sure what bonus weapons system needs)(14:45:28) ((GM)_Prysus): Weapon Systems is a skill. I can have you roll it if you'd like, but I was granting it as an automatic (because it's a game skill more so than a real skill, so he won't have a lot of trouble figuring it out). If you succeed on your % (your call if you want to roll or not) it's a +1 to strike (as per the skill description). It also classifies as a Heavy Energy Weapon (if you have the Weapon Proficiency for it). The Turbo Tech will help simulate Psi-Tech abilities (so if their abilities allow a bonus to strike with a machine, not sure if they do, then add that as well).(14:45:42) ((GM)_Prysus): Though with a 15 you took them all out regardless.(14:47:04) ((GM)_Prysus): Power and range of the weapon's firing are enhanced with the Turbo Tech. Also, it's usually a much slower turning machine, but with the Turbo Tech it will be able to pivot much faster (if the need arises).(14:47:58) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Think a tank. It's main gun is powerful, but isn't viewed as super fast for turning. The Turbo Tech helps make it faster as well.))(14:48:15) ((GM)_Prysus): Meanwhile, let's see how the others are doing ...(14:48:18) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 6d20 and gets (3,10,19,1,2,6)=41.(14:48:38) ((GM)_Prysus):(14:56:22) ((GM)_Prysus): Evrym2 is holding off his side, but the forces are able to swarm Holiday. While great at distances, if the enemy can get in close he's at a severe disadvantage. One gets in close and causes him problems. With that moment, the others are able to move in. He's not going to be able to hold door any longer! Sky is holding off the others from the stairs, but she still has her hands full with Leader and unable to help out herself. If they can't defend the door to prevent the escape from the city head, then they won't be able to get the the other Stone that Nanato spoke of.(15:00:35) (PC)_Trent): "Holiday, can you make it up here?"(15:01:39) (PC)_Trent): (I'm thinking of having Holiday join trent up there, being able to watch eachother's backs.) *will meanwhile aim for those that are trying to prevent the escape from the city head*(15:01:51) (PC)_Trent): (assuming his aiming won't hit allies)(15:02:20) ((GM)_Prysus): Actually, the Aqua Marines are trying to secure his escape. Holiday (or whoever guards the door) is trying to prevent it.(15:03:08) (PC)_Trent): (Ooops! >_< I worded that badly)(15:03:22) (PC)_Trent): (meant to attack those who are trying to get the escape(15:06:07) ((GM)_Prysus): It's going to be hard for Holiday to make it there, but not impossible. However, player suggestion/commands, is to let Trent fire on those going for the doors and swarming Holiday. Holiday could probably take one hit (though may not be pretty), as could perhaps the Aqua Marines (from one hit), but with knockdown it will get them away from each other. ((Your call to do it or not, otherwise I can try to roll Holiday's escape, but if he doesn't succeed Trent may not get another chance to do it.))(15:07:03) (PC)_Trent): Will attack, and try his best not to hit Holiday as well.(15:07:04) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (14)=14.(15:07:15) ((GM)_Prysus): What is your bonus anyway?(15:07:43) ((GM)_Prysus): I mean, that's decent enough. I'm just curious for the future.(15:08:25) (PC)_Trent): +1 from weapons system, +5 H2H/strike if you allow, otherwise he doesn't have the heavy WP.(15:08:31) (PC)_Trent): he does have weapons engineer though(15:10:12) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Wow ... harsh. I just figured he did.(15:10:30) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday/Aqua Marines ...(15:10:33) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (17,7)=24.(15:10:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday is able to clear out of the way, meaning Trent has a clear shot of the rest.(15:11:27) ((GM)_Prysus): He can roll to strike one more time (and don't fail).(15:12:47) ((GM)_Prysus): One more time before he needs to focus on the doors again that is.(15:14:53) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (11)=11.(15:16:54) ((GM)_Prysus): It's enough to take out the bulk there. It'll take Holiday 2 to 3 more turns (45 seconds) to get up there. 2 if he can move without stopping, 3 if he needs to stop and deal with stragglers.(15:17:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Next rolls (Trent for the door, the others in the same order) ...(15:17:58) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 6d20 and gets (12,9,7,13,8,13)=62.(15:18:47) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (1)=1.(15:18:55) ((GM)_Prysus): >_<(15:18:57) (PC)_Trent): ( :erm )(15:20:58) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent isn't able to turn back before they enter the room. I'll give him three rolls though before he needs to guard the door again (two if he takes the time to aim more carefully, but just because they're in the room doesn't mean that they're near his allies (yet).(15:21:14) ((GM)_Prysus): You can roll them all at once if you'd like. And I'm going to roll for them as well.(15:21:22) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marines (against Trent) ...(15:21:32) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 3d20 and gets (6,8,2)=16.(15:21:49) (PC)_Trent): *will aim more carefully and take two more attacks*(15:21:54) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 2d20 and gets (12,19)=31.(15:22:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Even though Trent couldn't stop them at the door, he was able to take out the bulk while still in the open. Some do get through and to the others such as Sky and the team of Evrym2 and Aerial.(15:23:42) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday stops to fire at a few who aren't with the bulk of the forces, holding them off from getting to the doors still. Right now they're holding their own, but there are variable still on the move and a lot of time left on the clock.(15:24:03) ((GM)_Prysus): 8 minutes and 30 seconds remaining, next rolls ...(15:24:24) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 6d20 and gets (17,1,19,2,7,16)=62.(15:25:05) (PC)_Trent): *attempts to attack those who are trying to secure the escape route, aiming carefully so as not to hurt his allies and friends*(15:25:13) ((GM)_Prysus): Um ..(15:25:44) ((GM)_Prysus): He may want to target the doors first. Sorry, I may not have made that as clear (whenever I do bulk rolls for everyone he'll need to worry about reinforcements, ever 15 seconds.(15:26:08) (PC)_Trent): (Oh, I htought I took those out and had an action before the next wave)(15:26:12) (PC)_Trent): (my mistake)(15:26:24) ((GM)_Prysus): That's why I did the other two rolls for.(15:27:16) ((GM)_Prysus): Order of events ... Trent rolled a 1 to stop reinforcements. So he was able to roll 2 more to try and take them out while in the room. He took out a good number (not all), but now more reinforcements are coming for the door/entrance.(15:27:36) (PC)_Trent): (Okay.(15:27:41) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (12)=12.(15:35:04) ((GM)_Prysus): That's a success. Trent is able to take out the additional reinforcements. He can have three quick moves, or two carefully aimed moves (carefully aimed are best when used around allies while empty spaces can be quicker shots). Sky is is starting to get overwhelmed by Leader along with his Aqua Marine back-ups. Holiday is already up the stairs. He stops now and then to fire at a few, but should be at a turret for the next roll (at it, not necessarily manning it yet). This time though as Holiday fires from his pistol he isn't able to hit much as the Aqua Marines are able to avoid the shots, making their way for the door he was once guarding (and is now open) to secure the head's escape. Evrym2 is still defending the computer hub with great skill, to the point where almost all of the Aqua Marines attacking it have been defeated (with a win next turn he'll have killed them all and can help elsewhere). Sky hits the floor as they continue to swarm her. She hasn't changed her orders though, obviously confident she can recover. Howe(15:35:46) ((GM)_Prysus): However, some of the Aqua Marines she was holding off are making it to the stairs. Trent won't be able to hit them during their ascent, and it will be difficult to hit them even after (I'll address options for that next round).(15:36:29) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent's main priority (from the player perspective) should be to defend the door to the city head.(15:37:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Do you follow the overall scene?(15:38:16) (PC)_Trent): *uses his shots to protect the door and try to prevent escape from the enemy head*(15:38:22) (PC)_Trent): *uses 2 aimed shots*(15:38:24) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 2d20 and gets (5,1)=6.(15:38:32) (PC)_Trent): ( :-S )(15:40:23) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (5,11)=16.(15:42:33) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent is able to take out some of them, but a group does get to the door! Groups are heading up the stairs to the turrets. Another group is securing the door. Sky is struggling with hers. And more reinforcements are coming! Holiday is at the turret as well and starting to get into position, but he won't be in time to try and stop the next wave of reinforcements from getting in. Trent! Actions?(15:42:52) ((GM)_Prysus): I'll roll for everybody else after that.(15:43:23) (PC)_Trent): *tries to stop the next wave*(15:43:26) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (8)=8.(15:43:34) ((GM)_Prysus): New order of rolls: Aqua Marines 1, Sky, Aqua Marines 2, Evrym2/Aerial, Aquamarines (spread out), Holiday ...(15:43:38) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 6d20 and gets (9,4,14,19,13,4)=63.(15:44:15) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing, then I'll address Trent again for his possible actions.(15:54:01) ((GM)_Prysus): If it were just the Aqua Marines then Sky could probably take them, but with Leader there as well it's just becoming too much for her. She's losing the battle at this point, but that isn't the worst problem right now. Some of the Aqua Marines have managed to get through the door to the city head. If the group can't get organized next round to stop them then there is a high chance the city head will escape! Right now though, they're out of range and can't be dealt with. They're going to have to wait for them to return. Evrym2 meanwhile finishes off those making a move for the computer hub, then moves over to help Sky! He grabs Leader by the arm, then with a spin throws him off and to one of the walls. Aerial takes the opportunity to heal Sky. Above, Trent took out most of the new reinforcements, but some managed to sneak through. Some more are making their way to secure the escape, and there are a few who are still headed for the computer hub (though they are a minor threat those on the ground can try to deal with next round)(15:54:20) ((GM)_Prysus): ((*Slaps forehead.* I have to remember to copy that before I hit enter.))(15:55:44) ((GM)_Prysus): The more Aqua Marines that make it to the door to the city head will make it easier for them to secure his escape, and harder for the group to stop him. As for the ones headed to the computer hub, those on the ground can try to stop them next round. By the time Holiday gets into the turret and has it powered up he's not in much of a position to do much (do to the time it took). Trent can still get the usual 3 or 2 attacks.(15:56:30) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial will return to guard the computer hub door (that doesn't mean she'll do a great job, but she can at least stall if it comes to it).(15:59:13) ((GM)_Prysus): Targets: Those attacking Sky, but Sky and Evrym2 are there, and the highest chance for friendly fire. There are those making their way for the city head door. Those making their way for the computer hub. Similarly, there are those who are crossing the walkway. He can fire at them now (it would be really hard if he didn't have the turbo tech though), or he can wait one more time. Next round he (or Holiday) can try, but it will be considerably harder. If they make it to the turrets there will be no chance to take them out with the turrets, but can dismount and fight hand to hand (but that means the turrets are unmanned).(16:00:26) (PC)_Trent): attacks those going for the walk way(16:00:52) ((GM)_Prysus): I'm going to roll their defense (with 3D20 which is the most Trent can attack) ...(16:00:55) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 3d20 and gets (4,6,8)=18.(16:01:04) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 3d20 and gets (10,20,4)=34.(16:02:37) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent is able to take out those on the walkway, and the extra group security the city head's escape, but not those for the computer hub (since you rolled without stating the rest, I have to place them in what I consider the most likely choices). By taking out those who were headed for the city head it gives them the highest chances for stopping the escape. Next round! ((Typing ...))(16:05:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent and Holiday are both suited up in their turrets. Those making their ways to the turrets are taken out, so there is no threat from them anymore. They have to worry about new reinforcements, and about the city head escaping during the confusion. They have to do it without killing him though! The turrest are very bad for that though. That means it will be up to taking out the Aqua Marines trying to secure the escape without hitting the head (which will be noticeable as a cowering figure, but is covered up with a blast blanket to give some attack resistance and completely covers features). After the two of them roll we will address the others.(16:05:24) ((GM)_Prysus): I'll roll for Holiday (attacking reinforcements first, because if reinforcements can be cut off it will be easier to stop the escape as well) ...(16:05:27) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (19)=19.(16:06:00) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday very skillfully wipes out all reinforcements!(16:07:17) ((GM)_Prysus): I'm going to give Trent a roll in there as well for his action before addressing the rest. I'm sure he saw Holiday take careful aim for the door to be nearly assured success (especially since Holiday is a ranged expert).(16:07:27) (PC)_Trent): *attacks a barrage in the route the head is going to, machine gunning it, so he can't go forward unless he deliberately runs into the spray of bullets* (and Trent hopes the AI isn't that stupid(16:07:43) ((GM)_Prysus): Roll it!(16:07:50) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (17)=17.(16:07:58) (PC)_Trent):(16:08:12) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing for that ...(16:11:12) ((GM)_Prysus): Some of the Aqua Marines try to go out, being between the turret fire and the head. However, Trent quickly shoots them down. Some of the blast (area effect) hits the head, but the blast blanket over him protects him from any real harm and quickly retreats to the safety of the door. Taking out the added reinforcements from earlier, the few who did get through earlier are taken out. Meaning that to get to the head again they'll need to get another force to secure the door (like earlier) and then try again. ((For note: Without using the turrets this would have been a LOT harder to stop.))(16:13:15) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marines 1, Sky, Aqua Marines 2, Evrym2, Aerial ...(16:13:22) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (6,19,16,6,1)=48.(16:18:33) ((GM)_Prysus): With the help of Evrym2, Sky is able to recover and start taking control of the group of Aqua Marines with Leader. However, during that moment, the small group headed to the computer hub are able to make it there and quickly overwhelm Aerial! One of the dangers of them getting to the computer hub is that all they need to do is blow it up! They don't actually need to secure its escape. Evrym2 starts to head over to them, but before he can make it Sky speeds in taking some of them out. However, that leaves the stairs open for some to make their move, and lets others make a move to the stairs (towards the turrets) or to the door of the city head. ((I'm going to roll a 1d3, 1 = city head, 2 = stairs, 3 = both.))(16:18:36) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d3 and gets (1)=1.(16:18:58) ((GM)_Prysus): Yes, they are severely thinning out the numbers. Soon I won't even require rolls.(16:19:27) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent can get 2 or 3 rolls (2 really should only be if he is aiming for Sky, Evrym2, Aerial by the computer hub).(16:19:35) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday gets only 1 (his turret is MUCH slower).(16:20:19) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday will try to take out some headed for the city head (shortest turn for him none the less).(16:20:31) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday then Aqua Marines ...(16:20:34) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (16,14)=30.(16:22:12) (PC)_Trent): *aims to back up Evrym2 and Aerial by the computer hub, being very careful with his aim. Won't worry about the stairs just yet, as long as it took Trent to get up there he has some time to deal with any aquamarines climbing the steps.*(16:22:17) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 2d20 and gets (6,16)=22.(16:22:36) ((GM)_Prysus): ((No one is headed for the steps actually.(16:22:50) ((GM)_Prysus): ((That's what the D3 was to determine.))(16:23:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marines ...(16:23:04) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (11,11)=22.(16:23:51) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent misses the first time, being too overly cautious. But the next time he's a bit closer and takes a few of them out.(16:24:08) ((GM)_Prysus): And if the group does well here, I won't even require anymore rolls.(16:24:24) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent and Holiday for reinforcements (best to have back-up, and no big groups left).(16:24:47) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marines 1, Leader, Sky, Evrym2, Aerial ...(16:24:49) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (18,10,2,9,5)=44.(16:25:37) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday ...(16:25:39) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (6)=6.(16:25:53) (PC)_Trent): *goes to attack the reinforcements*(16:25:55) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (2)=2.(16:26:28) ((GM)_Prysus): While neither rolled a 12 or higher ... both, together, did.(16:26:44) ((GM)_Prysus): It's pretty easy with two different gunners really.(16:27:16) ((GM)_Prysus): However, Sky and the others are having trouble with the last of the Aqua Marines in the room and Leader. Trent can try to help, but Holiday wouldn't be able to move there and back in time.(16:27:39) (PC)_Trent): "I'll help sky."(16:27:46) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Yes, I'm factoring in angles and all of that.))(16:27:51) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 2d20 and gets (18,8)=26.(16:28:01) (PC)_Trent): (and is aiming of course)(16:28:07) ((GM)_Prysus): Right.(16:30:06) ((GM)_Prysus): With Trent's help they're able to pretty much defeat most of the others. There are two left and Leader. From the proximity the rest are knocked down as well (includng friendlies), but no real damage (just knockdown).(16:30:25) ((GM)_Prysus): If the group can't do it on this one I'm going to be mad!(16:30:43) ((GM)_Prysus): Aqua Marines (only 2 of them), Leader, Sky, Aerial, Evrym2 ...(16:30:46) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 5d20 and gets (1,13,16,17,5)=52.(16:31:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent and Holiday for the doors ...(16:31:06) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 1d20 and gets (11)=11.(16:31:15) ((GM)_Prysus): Easily.(16:31:35) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (17)=17.(16:32:05) (PC)_Trent): (just curious more than anything(16:33:50) ((GM)_Prysus): The doors are easily secured. All the Aqua Marines, except for Leader, are defeated. Sky (player) has the others stay out of it for a one on one!(16:34:01) ((GM)_Prysus): Though we can just skip through all of that (unless you really want).(16:34:18) (PC)_Trent): (skip ahead(16:34:39) ((GM)_Prysus): Though there are still over 5 minutes left (fairly sure there is that much left, if not more) I'll say they are easily able to keep the room secured (though you have to admit it was close for a bit).(16:35:58) ((GM)_Prysus): And if you'd like I can type the cut scene, but I'm not too worried about it. Otherwise we can simply move on to encounter the city head and gather the computer information.(16:37:32) (PC)_Trent): (if you can sum it up that would be fine.(16:37:43) (PC)_Trent): (then yeah, skip and they gather information)(16:38:11) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky then Leader ...(16:38:13) ChatBot: ((GM)_Prysus) rolls 2d20 and gets (12,14)=26.(16:38:44) ((GM)_Prysus): Typing ... ((Quick scene, not even much ...))(16:43:24) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky and Leader fight at a furious speed. The two are amazing to watch and look almost evenly matched. It could easily go either way. However, wear and tear from the previous battles and the Aqua Marines earlier have taken their toll. Though the rest are all defeated now Sky has already been through a lot, and the only edge Leader needs. Both have just about reached their limit when Leader pulls a good move to knock her to the ground. Before Leader can make his move though Evrym2 comes in and stops him! With a quick move Evrym2 finishes the already worn down Leader out. He looks to Sky, "I am sorry. My secondary programming required me to help you.(16:45:50) (PC)_Trent): "Evrym2... I could remove those programming limitations if you want, and reset you to other perameters. When I first turned you on, you didn't like being without a set purpose, so I just gave you one."(16:46:10) (PC)_Trent): "Nicely done, team.(16:46:23) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent and Holiday continue to guard the doors/entrance where the Aqua Marine reinforcements continued to head from. Suddenly they all close, and there is a signal indicating that it is now locked. A female voice comes over the intercom for the room, "I've managed to lock them out of the system. You shouldn't have any more problems."(16:46:45) ((GM)_Prysus): The female voice is the same one from the flashback with Nanato (his remote helper).(16:50:43) (PC)_Trent): "Okay... now that's interesting."(16:51:05) (PC)_Trent): "That's Nanato's helper... why is she here?" *even as he's moving down towards the computer*(16:54:14) ((GM)_Prysus): ((As a GM: Trent recognizes the voice, but no one else in the game would. Trent saw the flashback, the rest only heard the story.(16:55:55) ((GM)_Prysus): Evrym2 (to Trent's question), "It is okay. I ... want to protect those I'm around, even if Sky ordered us to stay back."(16:58:25) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "Let's find the Chief Directorate first."(16:58:37) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Finally looked up the name of the person I had been looking for.))(16:59:44) (PC)_Trent): "Sure, boss."(17:01:23) ((GM)_Prysus): They head into the office of the one trying to escape earlier. It is very dark in the room. Further into the room they see the figure from earlier, but due to the lack of lighting it is still too hard to make out anying. Trent notices a light switch near the door's entrance.(17:02:02) (PC)_Trent): *follows Sky, smiling at Evrym2.* "No problem.(17:02:39) ((GM)_Prysus): ((GM: It's just one of those things for a dramatic unveiling.(17:02:45) (PC)_Trent): "Meh, probably." *has sword out and turns the lightswitch on, and prepares for worst*(17:05:14) ((GM)_Prysus): When the lights are turned on they see the Chief Directorate, the blast blanket still over his head. What they see though is not what one would expect. It's ... it's ... a Jarn!(17:05:43) (PC)_Trent): *winces* "A Jarn?"(17:06:58) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "A what?" ((Keep in mind, in After the Bomb they've never done space exploration. No such thing as a Jarn exists that anyone would know of.))(17:07:33) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Well, I should say Final Enclave. It's just that Final Enclave takes place after the game of After the Bomb.))(17:07:49) (PC)_Trent): "Jarn... um... person with that kind of skin. Very, um, rare."(17:07:58) (PC)_Trent): "I read about it somewhere."(17:09:22) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky (to Jarn), "So what's going on here? What have you been doing to these people?"(17:15:06) ((GM)_Prysus): Jarn, "I ... am not from your planet." *He speaks with a true Roan accent. If not a Jarn, it is someone who knows the language very well doing the voice work. Trent has met few outside of Meredith who can do it with that level of skill.* "I came from the stars. My ship crashed here, and I was trapped. I watched your world, trying to stay out of your civilization. But then I soon came to realize that if left to your own designs your people may soon destroy each other. If that happened, I would be stuck here, alone, and without any means to ever find a way off this world. I helped to resurrect this city, and let it become a haven for your kind. I even helped find a cure for those mutated. This is the last true home of Humans." ((Note: Remember, it was a Human world until "The Bomb." That is the first emergence of animal races as sentients.)) Still typing ...(17:25:26) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial, "Nanato said you were developing a force to use to take over the world though." She sounds confused, but troubled by the thought that anyone would ever do such a thing.Jarn, "Helping your kind though was one of the greatest crimes I had committed. It went against the very principle of my people. So, when the time came to further compromise my principles for the city's survival, I found I had little choice. If I was not prepared to go all of the way, then everything I had done would be for nothing. As I watched the rest of the world continue their path to self destruction I came to the conclusion the only way to save this world, is to save it from themselves. It may sound stupid, but if I could guide your kind subtly, then when I died, your people would have already been moved onto the path of salvation, and my guidance would have no longer been needed." Sky, "And to do that you decided to create Beta? (17:31:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Jarn, "If my plan were to work it would have needed a strong leader. That is where I made my greatest mistake. From there, things only spiraled beyond my control. After the Beta Project escaped I knew I had to stop him before it could get any worse. I put the city into high production, so that we would be able to deal with his threat. Once again it seems I have erred. If you have made it this far, then we most certainly could not have stopped him."(17:35:10) (PC)_Trent): "I have soooo many questions. But first of all, when your ship crashed, did you try to repair it or have anyone else try and repair it? Or did you just destroy it rather than let the natives possibly have access to the technology?"(17:35:33) (PC)_Trent): "Sorry...(17:44:16) ((GM)_Prysus): Jarn, "I crashed during what your people call 'The Bomb.' It was that incident which caused my ship to crash on your world. I had been watching your people from space. I underestimated the effects the bomb would have, and its influence even rippled out into space. Had things been different I would have died long ago. But, as it had its effect on your people, it too had its effects on me. It seems it has extended my life beyond even the expectancy of my people. The ship was damaged to its very core, beyond any hope of repair. My first instinct was to destroy it and hope to find some place out of the way to live and one day die without having an impact on your world. It was not until much later I realized that such an act would not be wise. Who knows, maybe the effects of your bomb have influenced my mind as well. I find myself still questioning some of the actions I have taken."(17:47:30) (PC)_Trent): "Naw, you've just been hanging around humans too long.(17:47:38) (PC)_Trent): "Right?" @_@(17:49:54) (PC)_Trent): oO(And the Captain won't even yell at me for shooting at him.(17:50:07) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Note: Nanato said he knew someone with the another Stone, and they might be willing to give it to them if they helped take on the city. Ergo, taking the Chief Directorate was important to get the Stone.))(17:51:35) (PC)_Trent): (OH! okay, scratch that last post(17:52:46) (PC)_Trent): "Er, though history lessons can wait. We intend to stop Beta. We're the best chance to take him down. If that's your true objective, to take him down, then help us. Let the natives take him down. We should have the right to save our own world, and, as you so aptly put it... we're so darn good at destroying things.(17:55:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Jarn, "I will give you the information I have on him."(18:00:05) ((GM)_Prysus): And, didn't want to cut you off, but should I type up the information on Beta in the computer system?(18:00:16) ((GM)_Prysus): Or are you still typing?(18:01:05) (PC)_Trent): (sure. I can't think of anything else to ask )(18:10:33) ((GM)_Prysus): The Beta Project. A clone of a former soldier whose skill is still legendary to this day. However, they didn't just clone him. They tampered with the brain of the soldier. This served two purposes. The first was to help rework it so that he could be more easily controlled. The second was to find the part of the brain that governed psychic talent in humans, than bring it forth and amplify it. After his escape scientists theorized that the psychic abilities manifested to a point that they were able to heal his mind from the modifications they made to make him more susceptable to commands, then resurfaced his old memories. Now, in addition to being a legendary warrior, he is also perhaps the most powerful psychic to have ever lived.(18:23:14) ((GM)_Prysus): There are potential plans of how he can be stopped. It will require several different factors. One being to try and overwhelm his psychic power leading a psychic burn-out. However, the psychic potential of Beta is unknown, and the requirements to actually accomplish this task would require a large force to effectively be used as cannon fodder(or a few really powerful people). It is not one of the leading plans, but it doesn't look like they were discounting possibilities due to the danger Beta possesses. They were trying to develop a psi-blocker, but were having no luck in such a device.(18:23:16) ((GM)_Prysus): There is a rumor that a prototype was created shortly before The Bomb in a different area, but it is now in an area guarded by an extremely powerful monster known as the Ice Wyrm. Trent, having played the game in the past, knows of the Wyrms. There are four different types of Wyrms: Lava (fire), Ice (water), Thunder (air), and Sand (earth). The Wyrms are extremely powerful, probably even more powerful than Beta. Having the group leveled to their maximum with the best equipment still has a chance of failure against such powerful foes, and still takes a long time even if they do succeed. It's kind of a mini-game to battle them, but something not required for the game. To do so is quite time consuming, in both battling them and getting strong enough to actually win. However, many die hard fans have applied the time required to do just that.(18:24:59) ((GM)_Prysus): They have developed a prototype sword upgrade that they were hoping would be of aid, but it weighed too much and none could actually wield such a heavy weapon.(18:26:05) (PC)_Trent): "IceWyrms? Stronger than Beta is, by the time we're high enough level, er, of ability... <_<; ;>_> to beat the wryms we could probably defeat Beta. Besides... I'd feel wierd getting a psi-blocker... :erm "(18:26:53) (PC)_Trent): "Up to you, Sky, if you want to use the sword, I know i'm not strong enough for it. ^_^ "(18:27:53) (PC)_Trent): "Though I wouldn't mind beating up the wyrms.(18:28:36) ((GM)_Prysus): ((For note: The player of Sky isn't going to take the time to do that. But I just thought it was interesting to include their information.(18:28:50) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Maybe some day I'll let you come back into this game just to fight one.(18:28:51) (PC)_Trent): (teehee)(18:29:10) (PC)_Trent): ((18:29:52) ((GM)_Prysus): And yes, Sky will take the upgrade (I included it for her).(18:31:00) ((GM)_Prysus): For note: Trent needed Nanato to upgrade his sword (one of Sky's alternate swords) to get two upgrades. Sky has three standard. She already has three upgrades included on her sword, but it's not hard to have one replaced, and for its advantage over Beta it should be well worth it.(18:34:36) (PC)_Trent): "So... we'd like to get a pardon for ourselves and Nanato.(18:35:34) (PC)_Trent): "Is that possible? I mean... we don't actually like hurting the Aquamarines, really we don't(18:40:19) ((GM)_Prysus): The Jarn, "If you can stop Beta, then I can find a way to arrange that."(18:41:44) (PC)_Trent): "Okay... how is this. A pardon for us now, and then when we return after killing Beta, a pardon for Nanato and his allies? It's win win for the both of us.(18:43:23) ((GM)_Prysus): Jarn, "If you can defeat Beta, then there is little I could do to stop your decisions. After all, you would have done something I could not with all the resources of this city at my disposal."(18:44:33) (PC)_Trent): "Or you could give us the pardons now and we have no particular reason to return..." *thoughtfully* "Look... you're missing the point. Your guys attack us. We don't want that. Until we leave the city, just have your guys stop attacking us so we won't have to hurt anyone else."(18:47:45) ((GM)_Prysus): Jarn, "Safe passage out of the city is something I have the power to do now." The female voice (Nanato's aid) comes over a speaker on the Jarn's desk, "Actually, there is someone else who needs to speak with you. I'm patching you through now." A display comes on the desk, "The Chief Magistrate I presume?" ((Trent, roll a D20))(18:48:33) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (10)=10.(18:48:59) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent, the new voice sounds familiar (I'll leave it at that).(18:49:13) (PC)_Trent): oO(Where have I heard that voice before? >_< )(18:49:19) ((GM)_Prysus): Though the display is facing the Jarn, so he can't see the image.(18:49:42) (PC)_Trent): can he angle to see it?(18:49:46) (PC)_Trent): angle*(18:49:52) ((GM)_Prysus): He can try.(18:50:05) (PC)_Trent): *moves to try to see it.*(18:55:37) ((GM)_Prysus): Jarn, "Yes." New voice, "There is an important matter you need to address. It is my forces that attacked the city while the others made their assault on your building." Jarn, "I see. So you're the leader of the rebellion against my city." New voice, "I am Lord Lowtide of the Dolphin Free States. Your city has been polluting my waters." From the dialogue and the angle, Trent now is able to recognize the figure. It's Gil Lowtide (dolphin), one of the optional unlockable characters in the game.(18:56:40) (PC)_Trent):(18:57:05) (PC)_Trent): oO(Wait... the Jarn seemed to know the voice. Is she playing both sides?)(18:57:25) ((GM)_Prysus): ((No, the Jarn knew who was attacking the city.(18:57:38) (PC)_Trent): (Ah, okay)(19:03:07) ((GM)_Prysus): Quick backstory (as you don't need to see all the dialogue of the two NPC): Gil Lowtide, leader of the Dolphin Free States, has been in charge of the rebels which have waged war against the Great City for the last few years. Nanato was, and is, allied with him. When the Jarn decided to put the city into "high production" in an attempt to stop Beta the city started to put out more waste then it could safely manage, and as a result it began to pollute the waters. While undesirable, if Beta was allowed to destroy the world then polluted water would be a minor concern (as no one would be alive to care). Gil asked Nanato for his help against the Great City (because his home was being destroyed), but due to his injuries from the past he was in no real condition to help. Enter Sky and the group. ((Suggested, but never stated: The Aqua Marines, water specialists, are specifically designed to help combat these underwater rebels.))(19:18:42) (PC)_Trent): oO(Interesting)(19:20:12) (PC)_Trent): "Well... all those high tech defenses didn't stop us, they won't stop Beta, you might as well stop polluting so much." *shrugs*(19:22:08) ((GM)_Prysus): And yes, agreed. The Jarn now realizes that, but he didn't at the time. Unless the group fails, he can stop polluting the waters. Though if they fail, he still believe it to be their best chance for defeating him, no matter how much of a long shot it may be.(19:23:32) (PC)_Trent): <_< >_> "Now if only we had a few more allies to help us to defeat Beta to make sure the water never gets polluted again.(19:26:05) ((GM)_Prysus): Lowtide (to Jarn), "As long as you leave your pollution out of our waters we'll stop attacking your facilities. And Sky, if you're there, I'll see you when you return to Nanato. I have what you were looking for. You have upheld your end of the bargain. Now I'll uphold mine." *The transmission ends.*(19:27:16) ((GM)_Prysus): ((You weren't completely ignored, but it's awkward talking over a call as opposed to in person.(19:29:23) ((GM)_Prysus): Back to Nanato? ((Unless you wanted to do more inside the city.))(19:30:03) (PC)_Trent): *will negotiate with the Jarn to have safe passage until they leave (no escort, will just stick around for no longer than 24 hours and leave) *(19:30:25) (PC)_Trent): (basically he'll call his men off(19:30:29) ((GM)_Prysus): They don't need an escort. There are cameras everywhere.(19:32:08) ((GM)_Prysus): And yes, safe passage out of the city was agreed earlier (before Lowtide interrupted).(19:32:15) (PC)_Trent): then sure, skip to Nanato, as long as the Jarn will back his men off(19:32:33) (PC)_Trent): (right, basically wanted the 24 hours)(19:32:41) (PC)_Trent): (so it's not safe passage as in "Leave now." )(19:33:34) ((GM)_Prysus): Well, the real question is what could he really do to kick them out short of getting his men killed and robots destroyed?(19:33:56) ((GM)_Prysus): They just stormed their stronghold.(19:34:27) (PC)_Trent): ( teehee)(19:34:57) (PC)_Trent): <_< >_> "One last thing... is it possible to get a Jet Pack?(19:51:03) ((GM)_Prysus): And we should probably call it here.(19:51:30) (PC)_Trent): okay(19:51:34) (PC)_Trent): thanks for running *hugs*(19:51:48) ((GM)_Prysus): Thanks for playing. |
