(20:31:16) ((GM)_Prysus): And okay, ready when you are.

(20:32:22) (PC)_Trent): ready!

(20:32:34) ((GM)_Prysus): Okay, typing then ...

(20:32:40) (PC)_Trent): (was looking at IM, didn't see window at first )

(20:36:52) ((GM)_Prysus): After delivering the Zion Blade back to it's rightful owner the group has moved on, now headed to where Sky believes Beta is waiting. As they continue their drive they come upon another city en route. It doesn't look too advanced, though few do except for the Great City. The buildings look like they've been pieced together from various parts. When they get closer they can hear music playing with banners around. All the signals indicate a celebration is going on.

(20:40:35) (PC)_Trent): "Celebration Let's check it out, it could be interesting. "

(20:40:55) (PC)_Trent): "Might be able to find more fuel too. <_<; >_> "

(20:42:06) ((GM)_Prysus): ((Quick GM Note: Few actually know about Beta and the threat he poses. Most know nothing of it. Only exceptional individuals such as the group, Nanato, and the Great City know anything of it, many of who have already have involvement with him.))

(20:43:57) ((GM)_Prysus): And there is no difficulty stopping. It is a good chance to stock up on things like food, water, and fuel. ((Note: While the game doesn't really show the character stop to eat, there is food consumption involved, and if no food is available for too long they begin to suffer things like hunger penalties.))

(20:46:27) ((GM)_Prysus): Aerial, "So what do you think they're celebrating?"

(20:46:38) (PC)_Trent): "I don't know." :-?

(20:49:41) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "Maybe we should find out. " *Said as she's starting to head towards the crowds of people.*

Holiday, "Maybe they're just happy the world's going to end while we take detours."

Aerial, "You're so pessimistic."

(20:50:29) (PC)_Trent): *Follows Sky, then asks someone who looks friendly.* "Excuse me.. what is this celbration for? We're from out of town."

(20:52:42) ((GM)_Prysus): Citizen, "It's a welcoming party for the Silver Hawk. "

(20:53:40) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "What's the Silver Hawk?"

(20:59:53) (PC)_Trent): *listens intently, curious*

(21:02:58) ((GM)_Prysus): Citizen, "The Silver Hawk is a ship that flies through the sky like a hawk. It has luxury quarters for its passengers and its own casino, but those are really just perks. The main attraction is that it can actually fly." *In this post-apocalyptic setting flying machines would indeed be rare.* "It even flies over the Torn Earth. It travels between ..." *As the citizen discusses the various cities a small mini-map appears on the screen, or at least it would if Trent were on the other side of it. In this particular case though, it feels more like it's just something that appears into his mind as if something he should already know. There is a very large chasm going across part of the land. It's not only long, but quite wide as well. The cities the Sky Hawk travels to are highlighted, and the flight path shown as it does so. As a result of being able to fly it is able to pass over the "Torn Earth"/chasm without hinderance, while someone on land would have a long trek ahead of them.* "Today is the first day we'll be included."

(21:09:40) (PC)_Trent): "Sounds like fun... " oO(if we could get on the Sky Hawk... =p~ that could be awsome.)

(21:09:51) (PC)_Trent): "Does it ever land?"

(21:11:10) ((GM)_Prysus): Citizen, "It lands to drop off and pick up passengers. I tried to get a ticket myself, but they're already sold out." *Sighs.*

(21:13:21) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "So there's no way we could get a ticket then?"

(21:13:48) (PC)_Trent): "Do you know of anyone who gives tickets for some sort of competition, or is willing to give up the tickets if someone helps them with something?"

(21:15:07) ((GM)_Prysus): Citizen, "Well, they are giving away tickets as prizes to the winner of the talent show today. I'd try but I don't have any special talents. " ((Loose translation: NPC designed to give information. ))

(21:15:45) (PC)_Trent):

(21:15:51) (PC)_Trent): "Now that does sound like fun!"

(21:17:54) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "I might be able to try some type of sword form for it." *Said thoughtfully.* Citizen, "Um ... that wouldn't be very wise. "

(21:18:26) (PC)_Trent): "Oh? What kind of talent show is it?"

(21:20:56) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "Why? What's wrong with that?" Citizen, "Well ... you're a woman." Sky, "So? " Citizen, " It would be against the law. Women aren't supposed to fight. They're supposed to stay in the home to cook and clean. "

(21:22:24) (PC)_Trent): <_< >_> "Mister, the only reason I'm not holding Sky back from kicking your butt right now is because she'd probably throw me off and do it anyways."

(21:23:00) (PC)_Trent): O_o "I know this is post-apocolpytic, but come on!"

(21:24:47) ((GM)_Prysus): Citizen, "I didn't make the laws. If she wanted to sing or something I'm sure they'd allow that."

(21:26:00) (PC)_Trent): "How did that law come about? And why did the women put up with it? "

(21:29:04) ((GM)_Prysus): Citizen, "It's been the law for as far back as I know. I didn't even realize any other place didn't have such a rule." ((For note: Few would actually travel outside of their city as there are dangers all over the place (the group is just tough enough to handle them), without knowing what they'd find, etc.))

(21:33:10) (PC)_Trent): *looks about to speak, then snaps his jaw shut, his muscles twitching. Then he gives his fake neutral smile that he uses when facing an alien. He adjusts his mind.* oO(They're alien. Their ways are alien. Not for me to judge.) "I see. Yes, the way I grew up with was much different. Women are equals with men, in most ways. So that is your way... I see."

(21:33:50) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "OKay, it's not your fault. Thank you for your time."

(21:35:54) ((GM)_Prysus): *Sky heads back towards their vehicle (but doesn't get in it).*

(21:36:14) (PC)_Trent): *follows Sky, shaking his head in disbelief.*

(21:37:16) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And for the record: Clearly the game designers don't believe it themselves as they have Sky as the heroine of the story.))

(21:37:28) (PC)_Trent): (right )

(21:38:37) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "We need to find a way onto the Sky Hawk."

(21:39:11) (PC)_Trent): "The Competition with a backup plan?"

(21:41:02) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "I can try talking to the head of this city. If I explain our situation maybe he'll help us out."

(21:42:39) (PC)_Trent): *hesitates.* "He might be chauvanist, in a city like this."

(21:44:06) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "That's why I think I'm going to take one of you (Holiday or Trent) with me. The others should probably try to enter the competition and see what you can do."

(21:44:39) (PC)_Trent): "Or who knows, maybe its a woman whose had to fight tooth and nail for her position. Never know >_< And... that would be a good idea."

(21:45:55) (PC)_Trent): oO(I remember Noria. She once got so pissed off at me because during a mission I offered her a hand up. Sky... has a lot more patience than Noria with such guys.)

(21:47:04) (PC)_Trent): "I'll go with you to talk to the head of the city "

(21:47:29) (PC)_Trent): "That is... if you want me :erm "

(21:48:19) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky, "That'll be fine. " Holiday, "I guess that'll leave me to the side show. I'll figure out something."

(21:53:06) (PC)_Trent): *grins* "I'm sure you would be interesting to watch, Holiday, and I'd hate to miss the show, but I can't think of anything interesting that would 'wow' anyone. I can repair things, but that's kind of boring for others to watch."

(21:53:44) ((GM)_Prysus): *After the others leaves Sky and Trent begin to head through the city. They continue to get odd looks from people, as if seeing something shocking and/or unsightly. Sky sighs.* "Trent, I need you to do me a favor with something."

(21:54:05) (PC)_Trent): "Yes?"

(21:55:39) ((GM)_Prysus): *She draws her two swords. One of them is her main/regular sword (upgraded of course). The other is one of her alternates. She learned two fight with two swords while carrying the Zion Blade. While she gave it up the skill remained and she'd adapted with a new one.* "I need you to hold onto these for me for now. If we're going to get through this we'll have to play along for now."

(21:56:47) (PC)_Trent): *takes the blades gingerly, and straps them on, nodding.*

(21:57:40) ((GM)_Prysus): Trent and Sky head to the Mayor's Mansion. It is definitely the finest building in the entire city. While the rest seem like a hodgepodge of metal and other objects slapped together to make homes, this is definitely finer craftsmanship and solid construction. They are stopped at the front gate, before they can even make it to the mansion, but are let through to see the mayor.

(21:58:54) (PC)_Trent): *acts polite, on his best "I'm on a mission negotiating with odd aliens" behavior.*

(22:01:24) (PC)_Trent): *goes in with his neutral smile, and takes the lead slightly, not in any way demeaning, but just 'playing along' with those around him.*

(22:01:36) ((GM)_Prysus): They are escorted into the mansion by men wearing black suits, ties, and sunglasses, but white dress shirts. As they pass one of the halls they can see that a party is going on from what appears to be quite wealthy individuals. There is a dancing, but a couple appears to really capture the scene as they dance, their movements going to the music almost flawlessly. The two dancing leads to a small cut scene which serves little in game purpose other than flavor and to look nice, and by the time it ends Sky and Trent are already inside a waiting room.

(22:04:19) (PC)_Trent): "Nice scenes. "

(22:04:30) (PC)_Trent): "Er, nice dancing," *ammends quickly*

(22:07:30) ((GM)_Prysus): *Shortly after a portly pig enters into the room. He is dressed in finer clothing, outdated by modern Terran standards, but had their place in their time. The pig has on a top hot and a monocle.* "Greetings. I heard that some visitors wished to speak with me. "

(22:08:31) (PC)_Trent): "Yes, sir. My name is Trent, this is my associate Sky." *offers hand politely.*

(22:11:46) ((GM)_Prysus): The pig takes the hand. His hand shake is soft, that delicate touch which doesn't indcate he's weak but as if force is too far beneath him. "Well met. I am Mayor Bay."

(22:12:26) (PC)_Trent): "A pleasure to meet you, sir."

(22:13:01) (PC)_Trent): "We're actually hoping you could assist us in a matter."

(22:14:02) ((GM)_Prysus): "Well, I am the mayor, if anyone can I am sure it is I." *Followed by a haughty laughter.*

(22:16:19) (PC)_Trent): *laughs good naturedly but breifly.* "We were hoping you could assist us in finding a way to get tickets to board the Sky Hawk. *

(22:21:28) ((GM)_Prysus): Mayor Bay, "Ah, tickets. Well, they are the hot topic right now. Everyone wants to get tickets." *He walks over to one of the windows with a balcony and opens the doors looking out.* "I'm afraid the only tickets not already spoken for are those in the Talent Show."

Sky stands up, her tone respectful as she speaks, "Well, we already have friends participating in the competition. But what we don't want them just for sight seeing. It's very important."

(22:25:51) ((GM)_Prysus): The pig looks at her. "Hmm ... well, maybe there is some way I could help you. " *He looks to Trent.* "You see, I have some tickets for my staff. But, if your friend here would be willing to attend as my date, in a proper dress of course, I am sure I can make room for your companions instead." *And though he is talking about Sky, he is talking to Trent as if it is his call.*

(22:26:43) (PC)_Trent): "Sky?" his question is to Sky, but his eyes are on the mayor as if confirming: oh, you mean Sky?

(22:28:53) ((GM)_Prysus): Pig, "Yes, the Sky is such a lovely view. " *Meanwhile Sky heads out onto the balcony, but gives a nod to Trent while behind the back of the mayor. Her expression indicates as if she really does dislike this man, but he's useful and right now his help is more useful than her pride.*

(22:30:19) (PC)_Trent): *blinks* oO(I said her name was Sky, right? Yes. So he's being intentionally rude.) *smiles* "Of course, my associate would be willing to go on a date. My regards to your very understanding staff. "

(22:40:57) ((GM)_Prysus): Sky puts her hands on the balcony looking out at the side show further in the distance. The balcony really is a good view of it. Currently performing is Holiday. He takes a shot, it ricochets off one target, then off another, and straight through the center of a coin! Everyone cheers at the amazing display off marksmanship. From the sounds it seems as if he's been performing for a while now and has already given quite a show.

The mayor walks up beside Sky, looking down towards the sight as well. Trent watches as one of the hands of the mayor moves over to grab ... a handful of Sky's 'assets.' Before he can though there is the sound of a ricocheting shot and then the mayor's top hat is taken clean off! The mayor looks startled as his hat hits the floor with a bullet hole shape through its top.

Below at the side show Holiday addresses the crowd, "Heheh, sorry folks. Looks like that one got away from me."

(22:42:19) (PC)_Trent): *suppresses the urge to burst out laughing, but it takes some willpower.*

(22:42:31) (PC)_Trent): *contents himself with clapping*

(22:49:01) ((GM)_Prysus): Fast forwarding a bit (not a lot) ...

(23:00:18) ((GM)_Prysus): Later the group is gathered at the mansion, with preparations for boarding the Sky Hawk when it lands. Sky is off getting dressed leaving just the others and some of the mayor's men. The mayor looks at one of the gun's of Holiday. "Is that ... really a ... double barrel ultra charge upgrade? " *He eyes it in almost greed.*

Holiday, "Yup." *That is the upgrade Holiday has equipped. It is argueably the most powerful upgrade for Holiday's guns. The 'double barrel' part actually allows him to fire two shots simultaneously kind of like a shotgun, while the 'ultra charge' causes it to do more damage. Some players will argue a different upgrade is better, but that is a matter of taste. At the very least, this is the upgrade which does the most damage with his main weapon.*

Mayor, "Would you consider letting me have it? "

*Holiday points his gun, business end towards the mayor.* "You can be buried with it if you'd really like."

(23:00:21) ((GM)_Prysus): The mayor lets out a yelp. "This isn't what I agreed to. No one ever said this brute would be coming along."

Sky exits from one of the other rooms. She is dressed in a very exquisite black dress. Though it's a bit revealing, it's far from being in poor taste and actually is quite elegant. There are holes designed into it along the dress which shows her fur beneath, causing the dress to be spotted almost the reverse of her fur. Sky, "Actually, you said you'd help our friends. He's one of our friends. You don't mind, do you?"

Mayor, " For you? It is a small price to pay for such beauty. "

(23:02:40) (PC)_Trent): @_@ *can't help but look appreciatively, but the memories of the beautiful one Trent loves pulls his eyes away. Then he grins at Holiday, and when out of earshot of the mayor: "Nice work at the show. "

(23:04:08) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday, "What do you mean? My aim was too high. "

(23:04:24) ((GM)_Prysus): *It's so hard to tell if he's joking or not.*

(23:04:40) (PC)_Trent): "Er... "

(23:04:51) (PC)_Trent): "Seriously, are you joking or not? I can't tell."

(23:05:47) ((GM)_Prysus): ((And yes, Holiday is definitely the more morally questionable member of the group. ))

(23:06:08) ((GM)_Prysus): Holiday just grins. Though that's not really an answer either.

(23:07:24) (PC)_Trent): *inches away cautiously, and turns to Aerial.* "Nobody said anything bad about you while you were here, I hope. "

(23:08:06) ((GM)_Prysus): *Aerial shakes her had no.* "I haven't had any problems. "

(23:12:10) (PC)_Trent): *goes to find a good view of the landing Sky Hawk*

(23:12:52) (PC)_Trent): *watches with interest, missing Noria, but figuring that if he's machine-ghosting or soemthing, most likely she's safe on board the revelation, watching out for him.*

(23:13:04) (PC)_Trent): *is comforted by the thought.*

(23:14:57) ((GM)_Prysus): And a very large plan lands. It is very large, having several decks involved and could probably fit a good number of people. The design of the plane is actually very detailed, the game designers actually taking in the science to make it plausable to still fly and do everything it is said to do in the game. It is highly polished, and its color appearing silver. The nose of the plane having been shaped very minorly like that of a hawk (though it's very minor, and by no means is the shape of a hawk, just that minor shape where you can tell where they were going with it).*

(23:17:46) ((GM)_Prysus): ((GM Notes: In case I didn't say it, or player didn't figure it out by now, their vehicle won't be able to come with them on the Silver Hawk. However, it is taking them across the "Torn Earth" which they need to do to get where they're going. So even though they'll lose their vehicle for now they'll be saving a lot of time.))

(23:18:01) (PC)_Trent): (right)

(23:18:32) (PC)_Trent): *does a mental check to see if they're at a high enough experience level (if he can) that he thinks has a good chance of beating Beta*

(23:19:12) (PC)_Trent): oO(Well... even if we're not... the best place to grind is at the enemy stronghold. Strongest enemies with the most experience. We can make it up there.)

(23:19:57) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) has been logged out (Timeout).

(23:20:20) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife enters the channel.

(23:20:26) ChatBot: lady_coldstrife is now known as (PC)_Trent).

(23:21:11) ((GM)_Prysus): They're not to Beta yet (there are still more battles to come, yes). Though judging by their progress and the enemies they are likely to fight between now, they'll have a fair chance. It'll be a tough battle, but they can probably do it.

(23:24:01) ((GM)_Prysus): They player has seemed to have been in a bit of a rush, so not as likely to take a long time to stop and just try to level the characters. Which isn't to say the player has been foolish, just that the player has seemed like they're trying to make it to the end more than power level it.

(23:27:25) (PC)_Trent): *heads onto the plane, admiring the vehicle like a work of art.* "Beautiful. "

(23:38:36) ((GM)_Prysus): The plane is rather comfortable, at least for the setting. It is true that modern Terran transporation could be more comfortable, but considering the post apocalyptic setting few could do better except perhaps the Great City. It receives the red carpet treatment, quite literally. The Silver Hawk is lined in red carpet which is rather soft. There is the large casino, and several rooms around where guests may stay and relax during the trip. Of course there is a bar and a place to eat, though both for rather inflated prices. The overall feel is similar to a classic casino boat, but this is a very large plane instead.

(23:38:59) ((GM)_Prysus): Not as large as a casino boat, and the dimensions are definitely different, just for an overall feel of the place.

(23:40:48) (PC)_Trent): <_< >_> *tries his luck at some of the games.*

(23:43:24) ((GM)_Prysus): There is poker, slot machines, craps (sp?), black jack, and roulette. What would Trent like to try?

(23:43:56) (PC)_Trent): :-? he'll try a bit of the slot machines, then try his hand at Black Jack, using math to count the cards.

(23:44:57) ((GM)_Prysus): Roll a D20. You need a 12 or better for any type of pay off. A Natural 20 is a jackpot, a 12 is where you're lucky to just break even.

(23:45:06) ChatBot: (PC)_Trent) rolls 1d20 and gets (13)=13.

(23:45:23) (PC)_Trent): oO(Made a little bit. Better than losing )

(23:45:45) ((GM)_Prysus): The Slot Machine costs a dollar (I would make up in game currency, but I'm too tired ). Trent gets back 5.

(23:51:19) (PC)_Trent): and... good place to end it.

(23:51:27) (PC)_Trent): thanks for running. I had fun

(23:52:24) ((GM)_Prysus): Thanks for playing. Glad you enjoyed it.
