Space Mercenaries: Game 1
(18:05:57) ChatBot: Prysus enters the channel.
(18:07:02)
(PC)Jordan):
*Hugs!* (18:07:14) Prysus: *Big group hug.*
(18:07:19)
Prysus:
And I'm not starting yet. (18:07:45) (PC)Deadeye): pffft just because white collar is on your gonna delay huh
(18:07:48)
(PC)Jordan):
that's fine. (18:07:51) (PC)Jordan): LOL!
(18:08:08)
(PC)Jordan):
brb though, I need to play 'zergling roundup.' afk. (18:08:11) Prysus: No, I'm not even watching White Collar (at this moment). (18:08:26) (PC)Deadeye): oh the season premier is on (18:08:44) Prysus: I'm delaying because 1) I'm not feeling well, and 2) I'm waiting to see if my work calls back and needs me to try and go in. (18:09:08) Prysus: Last I heard the other guard didn't show up. (18:09:09) (PC)Deadeye): aww well, I hope not (18:09:27) (PC)Deadeye): and I hope ya feel better, running a game should help there ;P
(18:09:43)
Prysus:
Stomach bug. Gaming won't help.
(18:11:41)
(PC)Deadeye):
its nerves (18:13:37) Prysus: I feel fine for a few minutes, then I feel like I'm going to throw up or something the next few minutes. (18:13:59) (PC)Deadeye): well no need to run if your not up to it (18:14:12) ChatBot: Monkra enters the channel.
(18:14:42)
Prysus:
I'm hoping it'll level out. (18:18:42) (PC)Jordan): back (18:18:55) Prysus: Whibbles.
(18:19:41)
(PC)Jordan):
I'm surprised no one asked or commented on the zergling roundup line. Maybe
because you know me too well
(18:20:05)
Prysus:
Well, I was going to ... but figured it would be pointless while you were away.
(18:20:20)
(PC)Jordan):
true, but I always scroll. (18:26:14) Prysus: okay, I'm feeling a bit better, so I'm giong to go grab some food (just cereal), which will either be a good thing ... or a very, very bad thing.
(18:26:26)
(PC)Jordan):
okay. (18:33:08) Prysus: And okay, definitely still a little sick (and I haven't even started eating yet). I'm up to still running if players would like (with the note/concept that there can be a bit of distractions/delays tonight). I'll admit I'm not feeling anywhere near 100%, but I think I'm at least capable. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure this is simply a one day kind of bug (a major annoyance for that day, maybe two, but that's about it). We could reschedule to Thursday if players would prefer.
(18:33:15)
Prysus:
And I leave it at player call. (18:34:20) (PC)Deadeye): either or (18:34:24) (PC)Deadeye): lady's call
(18:34:45)
(PC)Jordan):
Either way (18:34:57) (PC)Jordan): While I enjoy your games, I want you happy as well. (18:35:03) (PC)Jordan): and well. (18:35:23) Prysus: Bah! And you both have been very patient with the delays of this campaign. Though, I'll be honest if both of you are either way ...
(18:35:34)
(PC)Jordan):
but if nobody else wants to decide, then I'd say let's game
(18:36:05)
(PC)Deadeye):
I'm not the most patient person... so practice is good (18:36:19) Prysus: Practice? (18:36:34) (PC)Jordan): practice at being patient? (18:36:45) (PC)Jordan): like those travel commercials? (18:37:21) (PC)Deadeye): something like that (18:39:02) Prysus: Okay, I was going to suggest the delay because I'll have problems getting into much. Though ... with Jordan saying game, and Deadeye saying h'es not very paritent ... how about this: I was torn between a game on the planet before things start to happen (which means just taking time to get to know the location) or just starting off with almost a jump into the fire. Since I couldn't get into much, and players could (mostly) go either way but would prefer to play ... we can play today. Today will be setting only. If someone needs to leave/misses, or I have to cut the game short, there's no major loss.
(18:40:22)
(PC)Jordan):
That's fine. (18:40:34) (PC)Jordan): letting us get an idea so we can make further plans. (18:41:15) (PC)Deadeye): sounds like a plan (18:41:28) Prysus: It probably won't be the most interesting game, but if we get some good role-playing going it might still be some fun.
(18:42:54)
(PC)Deadeye):
and did I mention were still lack xp from last time
(18:43:16)
Prysus:
I said you can keep the points you already had. I never said I'd give you more.
(18:43:17)
(PC)Jordan):
quiet you, I'm just happy we get a game (18:44:00) ChatBot: Prysus is now known as (GM)(Prysus).
(18:45:35)
(GM)(Prysus):
Okay then, I guess is everyone (besides me) ready? (18:45:42) (PC)Jordan): ready! (18:45:49) (PC)Deadeye): ready! (18:45:54) (GM)(Prysus): Typing introduction ...
(19:05:01)
(GM)(Prysus):
On a planet with a bleak red sky there are two domes on the surface, surrounded
by nothing but barren life. There are no signs of water, plant, or animal, only
an endless expanse of an otherwise dead world.
(19:05:09)
(GM)(Prysus):
In some dirty dive of a bar there are people passed out. A man in military
clothes nudges another guy on the table. "Come on man, we need to go."
(19:05:14)
(GM)(Prysus):
An alien stands behind the counter as a human walks out of the store with bags
in hand. Over the door a small bell rings as the door opens for the customer's
exit. Once clear the alien at the counter heads into the back room. On a coat in
the back room there is another alien, insectoid, sleeping. The clerk throws a
cup of water on the face of the insectoid, "Hey, time to get up. You make some
violent noises in your sleep, almost scared away some of my customers."
(19:06:01)
(GM)(Prysus):
((Done, for now. Last scene will have player characters introduced. Deadeye, I'd
like to think it's obvious. Jordan, I'll let you decide which of the group you
are. (19:08:24) (PC)Deadeye): *opens red eyes appearing not have gotten any sleep regardless of the duration of the nap* "My apologies, sleeping is not the easiest thing in the world you know."
(19:09:44)
(PC)Jordan):
*finishes checking over the bus, and groans when he sees the two with
hangovers.* "Again?" *shakes his head and looks at his companion.* "Hey, Sam,
remind me not to go near the major today after those two put him in a bad mood (19:11:05) (PC)Deadeye): *stretches all 6 appendages and climbs out of bed* "thanks for the bed, I'll be on my way now" *peaks out the door and sees the bus* (19:11:32) (GM)(Prysus): ((And I'll give two Skill Points per location that the players can name. Whoever answers first gets the points, if you know them.)) (19:12:03) (PC)Deadeye): .oO(I wonder where the bus is going... looks like it would be hard for someone to follow me) (19:13:51) (GM)(Prysus): ((Plus 1 additional point for each character named, if you can tell me the name both of the named NPC included in the opening scene.)) (19:14:29) (PC)Deadeye): (I have no clue of the references) (19:16:03) (GM)(Prysus): (( While there won't be points after this point then, I'll provide the link with the references: http://www.prysus.com/tardanis_system For note: I did provide this link at least once before.)) (19:16:08) (PC)Jordan): (Eagle 1 for the communications hub, and I think the domes are named after eagles. Blue, red, yellow, black, white, grey, and green is training, right?) (19:16:30) ChatBot: Monkra leaves the channel. (19:16:33) (PC)Deadeye): (yea I have the links... just haven't had the time to read up)
(19:16:39)
(PC)Jordan):
(darn, too slow (19:16:39) (GM)(Prysus): ((Heheh, that wasn't the question asked, but I'll give Jordan 1 SP for remembering that without the link.)) (19:18:39) (GM)(Prysus): ((Hype with Rose Scott. The Rusty Nail with two unnamed. Luke's General Store with Bo Fletcher, one of the only aliens on this planet. Then the military checkpoint for the school shuttle of civies heading to the Alur Academy in the military dome.)) (19:19:39) (GM)(Prysus): ((And okay, I'll get to responding now ...)) (19:20:14) (GM)(Prysus): And, before Deadeye leaves the shop, I'll respond to something I was going to say earlier (then if he wants to leave and try to sneak on the bus that is his call).
(19:20:38)
(PC)Deadeye):
(okay (19:23:48) (GM)(Prysus): Bo Fletcher, the man who found Deadeye and gave him a place to stay when he had nowhere else to go on this strange world. Bo, "Don't worry about it. The first few nights I spent on a human world I had nightmares too. They can be strange creatures. And you're welcome to stay as long as you like, we aliens got to stick together. But if you do, you just might want to stay out of sight." (19:25:00) (PC)Deadeye): "Why out of sight?"
(19:26:54)
(GM)(Prysus):
Morris (second guy from original scene), the one who looks like he has the worse
of the two hangovers, "Oh sure, he has an issue with the one time we sneak out
and we're late. But does he ever give us credit for all the times we sneak out
and make it back on time."
(19:30:35)
(PC)Jordan):
"I don't need to sneak out. Within a few weeks I'll be out having finished my
tour. (19:31:57) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Humans tend to freak out when they see someone that looks different. It's some cultural hang up I guess. Besides, I kind of get the feeling you're the guy running from something. Figure the less people who see you the better."
(19:32:14)
(PC)Jordan):
oO(My tour is already over, actually, it will just take a few weeks for the
papers to get shuffled around. (19:32:47) (PC)Deadeye): *takes a seat near the end of the counter and goes invisible* "Then it would be safe here?"
(19:35:22)
(GM)(Prysus):
Sam, "And some of us sneak out just as much, but know when to stop drinking." (19:37:55) (PC)Jordan): "Alright, alright, hurry up and get inside." (19:39:49) (GM)(Prysus): Bo looks for a moment as if trying to figure out where Deadeye went. Then it looks like he realizes what just happened. He mumbles, "I hate it when you do that." He walks towards the counter to stand behind it again. "Safe? Depends what you consider safe. But yeah, not many gonna come looking for you on a planet like this. And if they do, as long as no one knows you're here then no one can rat you out." (19:42:02) (PC)Deadeye): "I wonder if all humans so bad since I have had limited interactions with them... and things went very bad. I do appreciate a place to lay low for a while though. If there is anything I can do to help out around here I can pull my weight." (19:43:20) (GM)(Prysus): Morris and Horton are able to head back to the military dome on the shuttle bus. Normally those who sneak off take the "scenic route," which means going outside of the domes into the harsh environment outside, then sneak back the same way. Of course, most sneak back in time to not get caught. Once you're busted like these two, sneaking around doesn't serve much benefit anymore. (19:44:48) (PC)Jordan): *grumbles to himself and and makes a note on his report.* (19:45:04) (PC)Jordan): "So do you really sneak off, Sam?" *thoughtfully*
(19:46:14)
(GM)(Prysus):
((You know, once you crash your car into the garage and parents staring at you
through the window ... no point in climbing up the trellis and back through your
bedroom window any more, might as well just go through the front door. (19:46:38) (PC)Jordan): (LOL!)
(19:46:51)
(PC)Jordan):
(it makes sense (19:48:12) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "For now, feel free to just take it easy and catch your breath. If after a week or two you decide you'd like to stay, then we'll figure out something for you." (19:49:40) (PC)Deadeye): *nods then realizes he can't be seen* "So what is this planet any way, I wasn't picky about the trash ship I skipped out on." (19:50:18) (GM)(Prysus): "Heheh ... Jessica," Sam says with a raise of the eyebrows and an appreciative smile. That doesn't mean there's any actual relationship between the two, but said as one guy to another.
(19:51:24)
(PC)Jordan):
*smirks.* oO(Ah, being able to go astral has its advantages.
(19:51:40)
(PC)Jordan):
"At least we're smart enough not to get caught (19:57:18) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Alur," (sounds like "allure"). "Not much going on here. Planet's not even survivable to most life forms. If it wasn't for these domes we'd all be dead. No water, toxic air, extreme heat. Humans only set up shop here because of the mineral deposits. They make this Guardian Alloy with it, super tough stuff. So rare though gotta take it where they can get it. Mostly made up of workers and the military, those looking to capitalize, and then those of dregs on the outs with our society." (19:57:48) (GM)(Prysus): *then us dregs on the outs with our society." (19:59:54) ChatBot: Erinoth enters the channel. (20:00:02) (PC)Deadeye): .oO(I wonder if I could survive outside the dome, that could be a dangerous last ditch effort to get away should the need arise) "Well I cant say I know how that differs from other planets, but I would have to assume they are more pleasant" (20:01:21) (GM)(Prysus): Sam, "Heh, yeah. Of course, I got to admit, my first year here I messed up a few times too. With this sky there might as well be no night and day. Kind of does a mind job on ya, you know?" (20:02:15) (PC)Jordan): *shrugs* "I lived on a station for most of my life. I can't... miss what I didn't have." (20:06:53) (GM)(Prysus): Sam, "Eh, I guess you have a point. Heard about people who grew up on stations before. I heard rumors they have trouble looking at the horizon." (20:07:20) (PC)Jordan): "Yeah... sometimes it can give me a headache." (20:07:48) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Well, most planets are actually considerably worse. But those with people living on them, yeah, they tend to have better living conditions." (20:10:06) (PC)Deadeye): "Are non humans as prevalent throughout the universe, or is it just certain places?" (20:13:53) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Well, there are definitely other races out there if that's what you mean. From what I know I think most races keep to themselves, but didn't travel much so I can't really say for sure. What I know of humans though, not that pevalent in the universe. Maybe they would have been if left unchecked, but ever since the kazire ... heh, they're living inside a fence."
(20:14:50)
(GM)(Prysus):
Sam, "Still ... bet your headache isn't as bad as the one those guys had." (20:16:56) (PC)Deadeye): "Kazire? I'm sorry for the question's but I have a feeling even if I could remember things I wouldn't know any of this anyways" (20:16:57) (PC)Jordan): *laughs.* "No kidding! Or the headache they'll get after the Major chews them out." (20:20:09) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Kazire, aliens. As humans started to expand the kazire showed up and gave them an ultimatum. Either they follow certain rules that the kazire set up, or they wipe out the human race. Made a pretty good show of power to prove they could back it up too. Humans agreed, not that they had any real choice, and ever since they've been stuck in this small sector of the universe." (20:23:07) (PC)Deadeye): "Then if I could get out of this sector, the humans couldn't pursue me... but then my home could be here for all I know" (20:24:36) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Of course, getting out of the sector would be a challenge all in and of itself." (20:26:45) (PC)Deadeye): "Well I imagine nothing would come easy, but what would make it so difficult?" (20:26:46) (GM)(Prysus): And, unless Jordan has more he'd like to talk about, or some other plan, I can see that he and Sam get relieved for the end of their shift/post. That doesn't mean they can head out to the civilian sector and get drunk, but they're not on duty. (20:27:45) (PC)Jordan): *finishes out the rest of his shift, and goes to his room to check for mail and/or messages indicating his honerable discharge paperwork had gone through.* (20:27:59) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Because this is a human sector ... and human's can't leave it. So how are you planning to get a ride out?" (20:29:34) (GM)(Prysus): No final paperwork yet Jordan. The status of the paperwork is still listed as "In progress." (20:31:15) (PC)Deadeye): "There certainly should be check points they would let a non human through" (20:33:05) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "I'm not saying no human has ever left, just that it's rare. Besides, how are you going to get to the checkpoint if no ship heads there? Humans don't really leave, and aliens very rarely come here. Not exactly like you can just walk to the next sector over." (20:34:27) (PC)Deadeye): "well then I guess it will be a long term goal" *laughs quietly* "I suppose I should be more worried about the near future instead." (20:35:25) (PC)Jordan): *sighs, and then heads over to the Academy library.* (20:39:19) (GM)(Prysus): Sure Jordan, not a problem. (20:40:16) (PC)Jordan): *reads up on the latest advances in medical hardware, occasionally yawning and stretching, leaning back in his chair and lifting his arms up, his strange tattoo visable when gravity pulls his sleeves back.* (20:44:38) (GM)(Prysus): And I don't have much plans right now. But the setting is open for those who would like to explore and get to know things better. (20:47:26) (PC)Jordan): *walks around the base, his uniform still neat and within regulations even if the collar is a little sweaty.* (20:48:10) (PC)Deadeye): (well staying low key doesn't lend itself to exploring, but I think I'm set as far as getting a little information togeather)
(20:49:12)
(PC)Jordan):
(unfortunately, since Jordan isn't likely to go to civillian center unless he's
"on leave" for the weekend, I doubt he'll see Deadeye if Deadeye is being low
key (20:51:20) (GM)(Prysus): Well, I doubt Jordan would see Deadeye even if he went exploring the civvie section. (20:51:29) (PC)Jordan): (teehee)
(20:52:21)
(PC)Deadeye):
(not with out a little help (20:52:27) (GM)(Prysus): I'll say Jordan can have enough leave (since his paperwork is simply in limbo) if you did want to look around (still no drinking or other acts that would impair your ability to perform your duty and/or reflect poorly on the military established here ... though it's done all the time unofficially and no one really cares). (20:56:27) (PC)Jordan): *heads to the civvie section! and goes to the general store.* "Any chewing gum in on the latest supplies?" (21:01:21) (PC)Deadeye): (I take it thats where I am or no?)
(21:01:40)
(PC)Jordan):
(I think so (21:01:57) (PC)Jordan): (yes, player is metagaming >.> <.< but it's for a good cause, darn it!) (21:02:00) (GM)(Prysus): Yes, Bo Fletcher (alien) runs Luke's Hardware Store (there is no Luke). (21:02:42) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Yeah, put in the request after your last visit. Got a shipment in just last night." (21:03:03) (PC)Jordan): "Sweet!" *grins and rubs his hands together.* (21:03:10) (PC)Deadeye): *stares at Jordan hoping he wont try the seat he is sitting in*
(21:05:18)
(PC)Jordan):
( (21:08:19) (GM)(Prysus): Bo can provide the gum. The gum is rather expensive, but so is everything on this planet since except for processing minerals into guardian alloy, there aren't any production plants on this whole planet and everything needs to be shipped in from off world. (21:09:31) (PC)Deadeye): *isn't going to show himself as it was good advice to remain hidden* (21:10:39) (PC)Jordan): "Well, since I don't spend my money on drinking, it's a good thing I can afford some gum." *chuckles.* "So, how is it going, Kincha? Anything interesting?" *says the last jokingly, as he doesn't expect anything new or interesting to happen.* (21:12:17) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Interesting, on Alur? Heh. That shipment with the gum was probably the most interesting thing this planet saw all week." (21:14:57) (PC)Deadeye): *studies the interaction*
(21:15:32)
(PC)Jordan):
"Yeah, probably." *takes some chewing gum, and then looks around at the familiar
wares. Goes to push in the empty chair, as it's only polite to push in chairs
that are out from their tables... * ((
(21:17:01)
(PC)Deadeye):
(uh huh (21:17:38) (PC)Deadeye): *jumps out of the chair and clings to the ceiling at Jordan's approach* (21:18:06) (PC)Jordan): *pauses* "Did you hear something?" (21:18:18) (PC)Jordan): *pushes the chair in and looks around, scratching his head in confusion.* (21:20:02) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Come on now, you've been here too long to be coming down with a case of the Reds." Reds: Term often used by locals to describe it when people start to crack as a result of the red sky, loss of sleep, irritable, paranoia, etc. (21:21:07) (PC)Deadeye): *remains quietly fixated at the close call* .oO(note to self stay out of empty chairs) (21:21:09) (PC)Jordan): "Yeah... maybe you're right. Maybe it's just nerves just waiting for the paperwork to get through so I can get off this rock." *shrugs it off.* (21:29:20) (PC)Deadeye): *crawls away from the person and drops down to the floor before the ceiling has a chance to give his location away*
(21:31:04)
(PC)Jordan):
"There! Tell me you heard that. (21:31:14) (PC)Jordan): "Sounded like something fell off a shelf." (21:31:31) (GM)(Prysus): For a GM Note: Yes, I do intend to get you two together next game regardless.)) (21:31:40) (PC)Deadeye): (mind you im quite light and nimble)
(21:32:18)
(PC)Jordan):
(I don't care how nimble you are, 90 + lbs falling from 10+ feet at 10 m per
second per second is going to make noise (21:36:24) (PC)Deadeye): (afk a sec) (21:39:05) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Meh, I'll check it out after you. Probably a mouse or something hitched a ride on the transport." (21:39:30) (PC)Jordan): "Maybe. That must be it." (21:39:47) (PC)Jordan): *shrugs* "I've got nothing better to do, I can help you try to find a mouse." (21:42:16) (PC)Deadeye): *moves silently away from the landing spot and away from the path to where they would go so no one would accidentally bump into deadeye* (21:42:47) ChatBot: kevarin enters the channel. (21:42:52) (GM)(Prysus): Bo, "Meh, I'd rather customers not go walking around my store rooms and through all my supplies. One of you humans being sick could get the whole dome sick that way." (21:43:31) (PC)Deadeye): *smiles* .oO(he's resourceful) (21:43:38) (PC)Jordan): "Fair enough. Good luck mouse hunting." (21:44:14) ChatBot: kevarin has been logged out (Timeout). (21:46:13) (PC)Deadeye): (good place to call it?)
(21:46:22)
(PC)Jordan):
(I think so. (21:48:10) (GM)(Prysus): And I didn't intend Jordan to go hunting down Deadeye. I just figured he might want to explore the other dome a bit more. (21:48:20) (PC)Deadeye): (haha) (21:48:26) (PC)Jordan): (teehee) (21:48:39) (PC)Jordan): have a good night. Thanks for running! (21:48:46) (GM)(Prysus): But thanks for playing everyone. *Big group hugs.* (21:48:55) (PC)Deadeye): yes was fun indeed |
