Guest Book

gragish: Greetings and Salutations all. Quick run down ... Zach (lady_coldstrife) is on a moon of a planet. The location is inside a volcano where some alien tech was discovered. Military is there as well as a research team (which Zach is now a part of).

gragish: ((Rifts ... like. That means it's a Rifts setting, but since I don't read the books I just make it all up.))

gragish: Okay, back to the game now ...

gragish: When Zach and Travis return to the research site, the power is back up. Its power is much greater than anything provided by the generators brought with. Various symbols can be seen glowing brighter than others same as in the other rooms. Other than that, it is mostly the same. However, this could help speed along research. Instead of needing to power on the generators, try something, then have to shut them off and recharge ... it is a continuous source of power.

lady_coldstrife: *gets some coffee, and looks over the symbols, using newfound knowledge of brighter glowing = more power to try to figure out the controls for the room*

gragish: With playing around with the brightest glowing symbols, there does appear to be a pattern. The vault door has 7 locks total, and each of the symbols opens a different combination of locks and closes others. In other words, it's a matter of using the proper sequence. There are 10 main keys which appear to operate the various locks.

lady_coldstrife: "Well... either we search the tunnels for a better way in, or we just use trial and error..."

gragish: ((Would you like the various sequences to figure out? What? No .. no .. this isn't payback for the Friday puzzles. Honest!))

lady_coldstrife: (LMAO )

lady_coldstrife: ( 3 :p )

gragish: ((Heheh.))

lady_coldstrife: *trusts telemechanics instincts that is known to give access codes :-S and tries to see if I can't Feel the right sequence.*

gragish: I'm not as nice though. I don't think it's too complicated though ... I mean ... I could figure it out in like a minute. :-S

lady_coldstrife: Oh! its a puzzle? Sure, bring it on! :D

gragish: Telemechanics will tell him which locks it opens and closes, but not which order to use (and there is more than one way to do it). To be done in 5 moves (or less) ...

gragish:

Key 1: Opens 3 / Locks 4 & 6

Key 2: Opens 5 / Locks 1 & 2

Key 3: Opens 6 / Locks 3 & 7

Key 4: Opens 3 & 4 / Locks 1

Key 5: Opens 1 & 7 / Locks 4

Key 6: Opens 2 & 5 / Locks 6

Key 7: Opens 2, 4, & 6 / Locks 1, 3, 5, & 7

Key 8: Opens 1, 3, 5, & 7 / Locks 2, 4, & 6

Key 9: Opens 4 ONLY

Key 10: Reset (Locks All)

lady_coldstrife: *points to 10 and glares* "Do NOT push THAT one!" O_O

gragish: ((Well, to do it in 5 or less ... if you mess up ... you might want to. :p ))

gragish: ((Checking on pizza.))

lady_coldstrife: ( irl i just do these puzzles by pushing buttons randomly... :-S )

gragish: Ah ha ha! Cute.

gragish: Want a clue then? O:-)

lady_coldstrife: Zach: "I was never good at these sort of puzzles..." *writes the above mentioned puzzle on one sheet of paper, then sits down, and on another sheet of paper tries to work it out*

lady_coldstrife: *scratches head*

lady_coldstrife: (sure. =p )

gragish: Lt. Baker, "Let's see here. Damn I hate puzzles. Look at this one here, it only opens one door. That's probably the last one then, right? Maybe if we try to work backwards from there."

lady_coldstrife: okay...

gragish: ((And I will give more hints as you need them. :) ))

lady_coldstrife: "key 7 and 8 do the most, one of them will probably be first "

lady_coldstrife: "but not both."

lady_coldstrife: "If we do Key 8 first, then we have to figure out how to unlock 2 and 6, since 4 will be unlocked last..."

gragish: ((And take your time, but feel free to ask me OOC if you want another hint.))

lady_coldstrife: *after about 5 crumpled pieces of paper scratches head again*

lady_coldstrife: ( sure. :D )

gragish: Travis, "All right, let's try to stay focused. By knowing the last, it should help. Okay, that one is this one here, right?" *Points to Key 9: Opens 4 only.* "It's the only one that doesn't lock something, so it has to be last. Then we can focus on another key that locks 4. Since it's reversed, it's not a problem. Continue in that order."

lady_coldstrife: "I think I got it!"

lady_coldstrife: " Key 1 gives us 3, key 6 gives us 2 and 5, key seven will give us 2, 5, 6... wait.. don't got it. "

gragish: ((Do the hints help?))

lady_coldstrife: "Okay... start with key 8, opens 1, 3, 5, and 7. Key 6 opens 2 & 5, key 4 opens 3&4 but locks 1. Key 5 gives us 1 back but locks 4, and key 9 gives us 4."

lady_coldstrife: ( actually, not much =P )

lady_coldstrife: "Wait... we're missing 6, aren't we..." *scratches head*

gragish: ((Doesn't anyone know how to reverse engineer? :p The concept is if you know what you're unlocking, then you can see what keys lock those numbers. So if you open 4 last, it doesn't matter what key Locks 4. Then cotinuing in reverse, if a key opens 1 and 5, then you can find another key that locks one of those numbers.))

gragish: ((That at least makes sense to me. :( ))

lady_coldstrife: "Key 6, gives us 2&5, key 3 gives us 6, key 4 gives us 3&4, key 5 gives us 1&7, and key 9 gives us 4?"

gragish: ((That's the answer I have written down. :D ))

lady_coldstrife: *sips more coffee*

gragish: ((7 and 8 were more to mess with you than anything. :p))

lady_coldstrife: ( lol )

lady_coldstrife: ( and it only took 8 crumpled pieces of paper :D )

lady_coldstrife: *looks about to crumple the last one, then realizes that this one might actually work...*

gragish: ((LOL ... I did it all in my head. And then everytime I thought it was too easy, finding like 5 different solutions, I scratched that and tried again.))

lady_coldstrife: ( you found 5 different solutions? :O )

gragish: ((For different puzzles. Since I found that many, I scratched the number sequence and made new number sequences.))

lady_coldstrife: ( ah, I see. )

gragish: ((I didn't think it would be that hard though. Sorry. :( ))

lady_coldstrife: ( you think this is hard? wait til tomorrow >:) )

gragish: ((Uh oh ... I just had to tick off the GM, didn't I? :(())

gragish: ((*Mental note.* The next time I have a run a game for the GM running it, be REAL nice to that GM.))

lady_coldstrife: :))

lady_coldstrife: naw, its okay, i allready had the hard puzzle planned

gragish: ((And I'll show you the reverse engineering thing I was talking about later. I think it would have helped if you could understand it.))

gragish: Anyways ... you can unlock the vault door when ready. :D

gragish: ((Hmm ... I DID have two solutions, though come to think of it ... I think I reworked it just ever so slightly so that the second solution wouldn't work. So yeah, maybe there was only one for this puzzle.))

lady_coldstrife: "Allright!..." *rubs hands together* "Let's get this party started." *saying the lamest rally cry ever.* :D

lady_coldstrife: *opens the Vault door*

gragish: *If Zach has figured it out and is ready, Lt. Baker will gather his men, guns and weapons ready. They look ready for war.*

lady_coldstrife: ( player expected that, actually) Zach looks very nervous at all the weapons. :-SS

lady_coldstrife: "If you're, um, ready..." :-S *opens the sequence and stands back, not afraid of whats on the otherside, but afraid of humans with itchy trigger fingers.

philg389: ( y'all have fun, i will be back on tomorrow. this has been entertaining )

gragish: The doors finally open. Inside is ... darkness! The lights from the top of the guns flash inside. It's hard to make out much, but it appears to be an opening into some type of building. There are steps and different corridors. This isn't just some room, it's an entirely different section.

lady_coldstrife: *waits for those with guns to go in first, like a good little tech* :)

gragish: "All right, this is the plan. My men and I go in first to secure the area. If it's safe, we'll send for you science boys to check it out. I'll have Vince set up a position by the door in case something gets passed us. He may not be very maneuverable right now, but he only needs to hold something off for a moment. If ANYTHING comes this way that isn't us, seal the vault back up." *He looks around.* "Foster ... you're with us. Write that code down just in case they seal it and we find our way back out. The last thing I want is no chance of return."

lady_coldstrife: oO(With us? That's the nicest thing any human's ever said to me.)

lady_coldstrife: "Right." *writes the code down in triplicate and hands it back to science team* :D

gragish: ((LOL .. such an interesting interpretation.))

lady_coldstrife: "Glad you're back on your feet, Vince." :D

lady_coldstrife: *then follows Travis*

gragish: Vince's leg is in a cast. And his head is bandaged up. But he can at least move on his own power.

gragish: Vince, "Yeah, it's good to be back too."

gragish: ((Had to give him a line ... since he was there ... you know.))

lady_coldstrife: (either that or: *evil glare* )

gragish: Travis moves in first. There are 6 men total. They're moving in twos. Alongside Travis moves one of the others. Jack and Eli are in the middle and going to escort Zach. And two others have the rear (front and rear being the two most dangerous spots). Zach is quite literally in the middle.

lady_coldstrife: *starts breathing a little hard, feeling a bit claustraphobic, is trapped, in the dark, surrounded by humans.. ARMED humans...* <.< >.> :-SS *

gragish: They move by sectors, stopping at turns for the lead two to check it out. At times it can feel slow, and other times it's fast to get from one vulnerable position to another. As long as he stays with Jack and Eli, he won't have a problem with the timing. ((And yes, ARMED humans ... who have effectively formed a protective barrier around Zach.))

lady_coldstrife: *follows their lead, rather meekly*

gragish: ((*Has a flash of a horror movie.* All the guys are looking for trouble ... monster comes from above, snatches the guy in the middle and is gone before anyone notices. :))))

lady_coldstrife: (he's shorter then those around him I bet.) :p

lady_coldstrife: ( and LOL )

gragish: *After surveying the base levels, they come to what seems like an elevator (alienish, but easier just to say what it is in this case).*

lady_coldstrife: "Its... a lift.. I think."

gragish: Travis, "Any idea of how to activate it?"

lady_coldstrife: *glances at Eli and Jack, silently waiting for them to move so I can go and check it out.*

gragish: They always give him enough room to move if he wants, though sometimes moving without them is just not the best idea. After all, they're there for HIS protection. But yes, Zach will be given enough room to check it out.

lady_coldstrife: *quietly and cautiously inspects it, looking ready to jump back at any moment, laying a hand on it and looking it over.* "Can I have a flashlight over here, please?"

gragish: *A flash light shines for him (and Zach will be given his own if he needs it and doesn't want to have to ask ... or if ... you know ... something bad happens and he gets separated or everyone else is dead!).*

gragish: ((Not that I'm planning anything like that. :-S Really I'm not.))

lady_coldstrife: (light from gun or just flashlight? )

gragish: Flashlight (they're being nice. :D))

lady_coldstrife: *takes a flashlight with a word of thanks. and inspects the elevator, looking for an up or down button.*

gragish: Telemechanics can tell him where.

gragish: And down.

lady_coldstrife: "It looks like it just goes down.."

lady_coldstrife: "This thing is old. I.. i think it still works... but maybe we should try it out without being on first. I mean, there might be dust or debris down there blocking or something..."

lady_coldstrife: *pushes the down button with nobody inside, and waits*

lady_coldstrife: ( yay! he has common sense! sometimes >.> )

gragish: *Travis looks around and behind them (using his gun light).* "They have stairs on various levels over here and no lift ... but then we have a lift and no stairs."

gragish: The lift only goes to one level.

lady_coldstrife: *sends it down, and then if it goes down without a hitch ;) brings it back up.*

gragish: No problems.

lady_coldstrife: *glances at Travis* "I'm curious what's down there, but its your call, sir.." *quietly*

gragish: "Don't get me wrong Foster, my job here is to find out. But it seems like whoever built this place sure went out of thier way to isolate it. First the locks, and now this. Are you telling me you don't find this odd at all?"

lady_coldstrife: @-)

lady_coldstrife: "We are unlocking something that was not meant to be unearthed, and was left here for millions of years, isolated and protected and kept away from the rest of the universe. What's the worst that could happen?"

lady_coldstrife: "I mean... its only common sense that you keep your valuables in a safe place!" :D

gragish: *Some of the others are starting to look a little worried after Baker's statement and then Zach's first. Travis responds with a smile.* "Well, since you put it that way ... should be fun. Right?" *Slapping another on the back (not trying to hurt him). The other loosens up a bit as he tries to smile. Travis continues.* "Come on ... who are the baddest special forces in all of the Constortium? We are, right? Who was there during the fight with the Kengar? We were, right? Now come on ... loosen up. You're starting to look like a bunch of uptight te ..." *Glances over at Zach for a moment and stops himself from saying 'techs'.* "... teammates. Teammates."

lady_coldstrife: ( LOL )

lady_coldstrife: *winces at the slap, cringing slightly, but seeing that he doesn't mean any real harm slowly and cautiously relaxes.*

gragish: ((And he's clearly trying to lighten the mood. Tense men leads to badness ... probably something like what Zach is scared of. :p))

lady_coldstrife: ( lol )

gragish: Anyways ... lift returns and can take everyone down.

lady_coldstrife: *goes down*

gragish: From their location, they are probably somewhere near the heart of the volcano. But they can sense no heat from within these walls.

lady_coldstrife: *waits for the others to give the all clear and gets out, using senses to search for traps, lightswitches, or android gaurdians.

gragish: The lift opens up to a walkway. It hangs above a room below. From up there they can make out several types of mechanical suits, but it is hard to tell what kind (power armor, androids, other). There is a ladder going down to the lower room and a hallway at the other end of the walkway.

lady_coldstrife: "Mecha..." =P~

gragish: Travis, "This elevator appears to be the only way in or out." *He radios up to Vince, but can't get a signal through.* "Pax (short for Paxmillion), go up and see if you can contact Vince. I want to set up a trip beam at the elevator. This way if anything tries to use the elevator but us, he'll know and we'll know."

gragish: ((Basically think a little laser light that if broken ... sends a signal.))

lady_coldstrife: *pokes the ladder to see if its sturdy, and looks at the steps to see if they're basically for human proportion, or for something that has bigger/smaller legs*

gragish: ((*Shifts eyes.* I can't remember if I gave any clues to the size of the aliens.))

gragish: ((Effectively human size though ... maybe a little larger, I don't think smaller, but nothing that makes a huge difference.))

lady_coldstrife: "Well... at least these guys were about our size... that's good."

lady_coldstrife: "And it doesn't look like they could fly."

gragish: Pax (one of the guys in the back) heads back up in the elevator to do as Travis asked.

lady_coldstrife: "HELLO? Anybody down here?" (echo, echo...)

gragish: It does indeed echo.

lady_coldstrife: "Um... maybe we should tie a rope to the first person to use the ladder... just in case the ladder breaks? that way the person won't fall."

gragish: Zach suddenly picks up a signal from one of the walls. It's a countdown ... 10 ... 9 ... 8 ... 7 ... at the end of the countdown it appears to do a routine scan.

lady_coldstrife: "Or if they do fall, won't, break their leg..." *then winces as thats what happened...*

lady_coldstrife: "Oh, thats interesting... something's counting down.. 3, 2...1..."

gragish: With his power, Zach can sense the sudden activation of a sensor scan of the area.

lady_coldstrife: "Its scanning for something."

lady_coldstrife: "I hope its not for weapons..." :-S

lady_coldstrife: ( Trent: "Its scanning, everyone get Back, now." Zach: "Hey, whats that do?" :D )

gragish: Zach is able to pick up the readings from the scan as Unidentified Individuals without an ID Pass.

lady_coldstrife: "Oh... it doesn't recognize us and says we need an ID pass."

gragish: And with that ... two of the 10 foot machines below activate.

lady_coldstrife: <how do we get an ID pass?> *innocently*

gragish: ((I can't think of how to describe it ... just think of it as an ID card for authorized personnel ... if you're supposed to have one ... you get one.))

gragish: ((Kind of like a work swipe card.))

lady_coldstrife: *blinks for a moment* "Hey, I think two of the machines activated... I think they're an automated security system..."

gragish: ((And the elevator is still with Pax. >:)))

lady_coldstrife: < would you guys accept a surrender, by any chance? >

lady_coldstrife: < we'll leave as soon as the elevator comes down.. we took a wrong turn. >

gragish: What's the range?

lady_coldstrife: ( 25 feet... >.> )

gragish: What? I didn't say how far down the room with the mechs was? :o

lady_coldstrife: ( no. )

gragish: ((I meant to. :())

gragish: 40 feet (for just that reason).

lady_coldstrife: ( :p )

lady_coldstrife: <.< >.> "I could go down and talk to them..."

gragish: On the other hand ... the two start ... climbing the walls? Since there are no grooves or anything in the walls, they must be able to lock on to them in some other way. While it is bringing them closer to the group, that also means they will enter Zach's range.

lady_coldstrife: "Machines don't usually think of me as a threat."

lady_coldstrife: "Oh, nevermind, they're coming up here."

gragish: Their motions would be rather ape like walking (short back legs and the two longer arms in front kind of thing).

lady_coldstrife: (LOL king kong climbing empire state building :D )

lady_coldstrife: *once in range* <Hi.. I am not a threat. Any way you would accept our surrender?>

gragish: When they come into range ... Zach can get some idea of their programming. It's rather basic. They're war machines (not much ranged weapons though fortunately). Their orders are to destroy any unauthorized individuals. Programming is that simple. There is no thought or anything more than that. The only possible exception is from someone with a high enough ID Pass giving orders to stand down (someone lost their ID!).

lady_coldstrife: "Um... looks like they just want to kill us..."

gragish: ((And no ... not like that. More like walking on the ground ... just doing it on the walls instead. There is nothing to actually climb ... otherwise I would have so went that route.))

lady_coldstrife: <According to medical scanners dating *time* I am allready dead. You don't have to shoot me. :D >

lady_coldstrife: <Check the medical records! I was pronounced Dead. :D >

lady_coldstrife: (hey, its worth a... shot. ;) )

gragish: I'm going to have to roll to see if that will work. Though you're dead in soe ways ... the same scanner said you were very healthy in other ways.

gragish: Evens or Odds. :D

lady_coldstrife: odds

gragish: Roll 1: 4.

lady_coldstrife: >.>

lady_coldstrife: figures.

gragish: ((If it was odd you'd so have had them on the technical loophole. Sorry.))

gragish: ((It was a good try though. I was wondering if you were going to think about that. I was.))

lady_coldstrife: *searches for a weakness*

gragish: ((*Rolls something.*))

gragish: Okay ... I'll make options.

gragish: Weaknesses as best as Zach can assertain ... 1) There is an area on the upper back of the machines that is more vulnerable to attack. However, they are 10 feet tall and with the way they move, it would be hard to get. It's the easier target (in size), but it's also the more armored (while yes it's a weaker points than others, it's not a one hit one kill spot). The other area is their sensors. Two sensors towards the shoulders. It's a hard shot to get (small object on a moving machine of death!), it's far more vulernable (one good hit should take it out). Without sensors, they'll be effectively blind. 3) If the life signs are able to vanish, the threat will be considered eliminated.

gragish: ((Commit suicide! That'll show those bots! :p))

lady_coldstrife: "The only way to stop them is by taking out the sensors, those areas on their shoulders! then they'll think we're dead and they won't bother us anymore!"

lady_coldstrife: ( =P that's not funny. Just because Zach acts like Shiiva's character sometimes doesn't mean he'd ever think of doing that. )

gragish: ((It was just a reference to cause the life signs to vanish ... I couldn't think of any other methods.))

gragish: Travis, "You heard the tech. Take aim and fire!"

lady_coldstrife: *ducks and covers out of the way, and on the radio: "Pax! send the elevator down, now! emergency!"

gragish: First group ... not even close. Second group ... so close. But they seemed to have mised them. (Three on one side and two on the other).

gragish: ((You do remember WHY Pax went up, right? :p))

lady_coldstrife: *is on the floor near the elevator, duck and cover position*

lady_coldstrife: ( yeah... =P

gragish: ((The signals didn't go up that far. :D))

lady_coldstrife: ( to Vince... he's several rooms/floors away. )

lady_coldstrife: ( it might go to just the top of elevator... maybe... :-S )

lady_coldstrife: *tries to get elevator down!*

gragish: The groups are going to each get one more shot ... and hope that works. Otherwise they bots are going to be able to start getting into combat range.

lady_coldstrife: "Maybe someone can throw some paint and blind them to buy us time?"

lady_coldstrife: oO(Julia... I wish you were here.) :((

lady_coldstrife: oO(Or dante or marten... but I have to try to look out for myself now. Even though I'm doing such a rotten job.) :(

gragish: The first group nails the sensors! The machine is no longer moving. It looks to be in search mode ... but can't find anything due to inactive sensors. However, the others get a near hit again but the shots bounce off. The giant war machine leaps from the wall onto the platform causing it to shake slightly.

lady_coldstrife: *looks for an "off" button.* @-)

gragish: No luck with that one. Sorry.

gragish: And Zach has been able to get the elevator coming down. But it's not an instant return and open. He'll actually have to wait for it.

gragish: ((I don't want to roll again. I'm scared. :S))

gragish: ((:-S))

gragish: Okay ... no living in fear. Time to strike.

lady_coldstrife: <.< >.> *ties a rope around its leg, is the least dangeous and threatening, then throws rope to the other robot.* <Catch it! Pull! Must destroy target! rope is unidentified intruder!>

lady_coldstrife: oO(Maybe it will fall on its vulnerable Back. :D )

gragish: The first team is the one to strike the sensor again. They're definitely the better shots. However, the bot was in attack position already and appears to still be swinging away wildly. It takes a wild swing which almost takes off the head of Pax's partner. However, he barely manages to dodge and avoid the impact of the huge mechanical arm. Had it hit, there could have been definite problems. It's still swinging as Zach finishes his part of the plan ... which actually works very smoothly. While they haven't fallen on their vulnerable backs ... they do appear content on trying to destroy the other having no clue what it is other than something attacking.

lady_coldstrife: <Destroy enemy! right in front of you! to your left!> *helps them* :D

lady_coldstrife: "Sir... maybe you ought to send someone down to destroy the sensors on the other ones before they come to life too!"

gragish: Zach doesn't need to help much. The fact they're in grappling range makes it easy to find the other.

lady_coldstrife: "I wouldn't touch them... either retreat or move forward, but its gotta be fast."

gragish: *Travis looks and then nods.* "Yeah. But let's ... wait until they're finished first anyone even tries to go down there."

lady_coldstrife: ( yay! for once I came up with a good plan that works! :D )

gragish: ((And I was wondering how to get them to destroy each other. So basically you came up with the plan to do what I wanted to.))

lady_coldstrife: *goes in elevator and stands inside, as that is out of their jurisdiction.*

lady_coldstrife: *waits*

lady_coldstrife: "Let's wait for the next scan, then, and move as soon as that says that it doesn't detect anyone."

gragish: ((I couldnt' have pulled it off without your plan though. Of course ... I'm running gun toting gun guys ... doing stuff like that isn't their style. Wrong mentality I guess. :p))

lady_coldstrife: *goes pale* "I mean, um, thats what I humbly recommend, sir..." <.< >.>

lady_coldstrife: ( when in doubt, empty the clip! we don't need no stinking rope... )

gragish: ((Exactly! :D))

gragish: And we'll use Zach's plan. Not a problem.

gragish: Once the two are done killing each other, another scan starts.

lady_coldstrife: ( ever see the boondock saints? Memorable Quotes from

The Boondock Saints (1999)

Connor: [picking out weapons and gear] Do ya know what we need, man? Some rope.

Murphy: Absolutely. What are you, insane?

Connor: No I ain't. Charlie Bronson's always got rope.

Murphy: What?

Connor: Yeah. He's got a lot of rope strapped around him in the movies, and they always end up using it.

Murphy: You've lost it, haven't ya?

Connor: No, I'm serious.

Murphy: That's stupid. Name one thing you'd need a rope for.

Connor: You don't ******* know what you're gonna need it for. They just always need it.

gragish: ((LOL ... very fitting for the moment it seems. And never saw the movie, but it is a good quote for the situation. I like carrying rope too. :D))

lady_coldstrife: ( yeah. :D )

gragish: ((Zekar had a plan to take out 6 riders on horseback with a rope. :D))

lady_coldstrife: as soon as the scan scans the room (the elevator would probably be just off limits...) tells them the all clear (assuming it is clear)

gragish: It is. And they'll be able to move in and take out the scanners of the other bots before a new scan starts.

lady_coldstrife: oO(and I didn't have to permenantly destroy any robots.) *satisfied.*

gragish: ((Well ... those two are kind of gone.))

lady_coldstrife: oO(Well... at least I spared 8... >.> )

lady_coldstrife: *looks sad at the destroyed bots.*

gragish: ((I don't think I ever said how many other than 10 feet tall ... but 8 works for me even if I didn't.))

lady_coldstrife: ( oh, thought you said 10 bots... oh, i see, 10 feet tall. )

gragish: Odd or even?

lady_coldstrife: odd?

gragish: Roll 1: 20.

lady_coldstrife: >_<

gragish: Both are destroyed.

lady_coldstrife: O.o the odds against it being even were 1 in 4...

gragish: ((If you picked right, then one of them would still be functional ... just badly damaged.))

lady_coldstrife: "Um... LT. Baker..." *hesitates*

gragish: How do you get one in four?

lady_coldstrife: because it was even last time.

gragish: ((But you picked odd on an even ... so both were destroyed.))

lady_coldstrife: odd and even are a 1 in 2 chance, but 2 odds in a row is a one in 4 chance.

lady_coldstrife: er, 2 evens*

lady_coldstrife: something.

gragish: Hmm ... don't know if it really works like that, but I see what you're saying.

gragish: Travis, "What is it Foster?"

lady_coldstrife: "I think there's another way to destroy them..." *quietly* "here... this spot... its armored, but still vulnerable. But it would destroy them completely..."

lady_coldstrife: "If you came up against them again." :-S

lady_coldstrife: oO(Don't be mad that I hid one of the ways to destroy them from you, >_< )

gragish: "All right, good to know. Let's hope it doesn't come down to that though. Right now, I'd rather save the ammo if I can."

lady_coldstrife: #:-S

gragish: ((He doesn't know you hid it, he just thinks you figured it out now. :p))

lady_coldstrife: "Okay." :D

lady_coldstrife: ( and Zach doesn't know what he knows or doesn't know. ) :D

gragish: And Pax will eventually return.

lady_coldstrife: *continues on.*

gragish: And want to call it a night here?

lady_coldstrife: ( out of curiosity, would he have been really X-( if he knew zach didn't tell him in the first place? )

lady_coldstrife: and sure, here's a good spot.
